To My Dearest Paul... From you have I been absent in the spring When proud-pied April, dress?d in all his trim, Hath put a spirit of youth in every thing, That heavy Saturn laugh?d and leap?d with him. Yet nor the lays of birds, nor the sweet smell Of different flowers in odour and in hue, Could make me any summer?s story tell, Or from their proud lap pluck them where they grew: Nor did I wonder at the lily?s white, Nor praise the deep vermilion in the rose; They were but sweet, but figures of delight, Drawn after you, you pattern of all those. Yet seem?d it winter still, and you away, As with your shadow I with these did play. Always a loyal and sincere fan... Nellie Apple

Paul and Linda McCartney spent all the time they could together. A friend once asked Paul if he didn't crave time away. "Why?'' he asked. A sign of true love is the joy of togetherness. Time apart, when it does occur, only emphasizes the richness of the relationship.

Speaking on the Today programme on Radio 4, Sir Paul, 67, said that he found fame pretty annoying and turned down approaches for his aautograph while in restaurants or out shopping, offering instead to shake hands. He said: ?The weight of fame can get pretty annoying. But you know what I do now? I have rules, I?ve finally grown up and I finally realise I?ve got rights. So people will come up to me in a restaurant and say, ?Can I have your autograph? and I say, ?I?m really sorry but I don?t do that when I?m eating. I hope you understand. I?ll shake your hand and I?ll talk to you.? Damn...finally at 67 years old Paul learned how to say NO!
