Paul, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 20th June - ARCHIVE

Good day good people. I have not been on here in ages. Just had to tell you that I was at the gig in Glasgow last night. It was the best gig of my life. Paul and the guys were on top form. I have never been at Hampden park with such an incredible atmosphere. Thanks for that Pau you were just amazing.

I did the Moonwalk too. Was all worth it though, wasn't it? I forgot all about my sore legs and feet when Macca came on! I'm suffering today though!
Absolutely worth it! Even off the back of 1 hour dozing on the sofa before heading through to Glasgow, I didn't stop dancing! Deserved my chips on the way back to the car afterwards under guise of 'trying to stave off cramp' during the night Will never do the Moonwalk again, but the experience of seeing Macca is one I'm hoping I can repeat very soon. Hard Rock Calling is looking very tempting for next weekend............

brilliant gig - i was 11th row in AA7 - great view and lots of tears - the technical hitch at the start was great, some decent unplanned banter and the glasgow crowd loved MACCA! can't wait until hyde park
You must've been near me - I was in AA7, Row N. Great view. Did anyone get some good close ups of Loretto Band? Found out this morning that the son of a colleague was on stage last night and thought I would try and get him some photos...........

It was absolutely amazing, Paul was in top form and genuinely seemed to enjoy the gig. He wore a blue shirt and white braces to represent the Scottish Flag which was a lovely touch. I have to say this was probably the best crowd at any Macca gig I've been to and I've been to quite a few. Great to see so many of the American regulars had made the trip over. I'm pretty much lost for words really, other than when I've been front row it has to be one of the best gigs I've seen.

Here are some of my fav pictures. I'm just writing a review for The British Beatles Fan Club magazine
Day Tripper Live & Let Die Mull Of Kintyre -
Review time! Ahh he was just simply astounding, and the crowd was fantastic! With the exception of the couple to the right of me who kept sitting down and seemed pretty bored through the whole thing, why would you pay for seats so close to the stage if that's how you're going to act?! Anyway, I loved it from start to finish and my friend from Spain who is studying here in Glasgow atm thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Crowd seemed especially into it from 'Obladi' onwards and everyone was just having an absolute blast after that. 'Back in the USSR' was rocking, 'Long and Winding Road' was just beautiful, sheer joy for 'Get Back'. And 'DayTripper' always takes me by surprise, but the best kind of surprise. I only wish now I could have been right up front, just that little bit closer! Still a dream of mine. God, I would go back in a heartbeat tonight if he was doing another show. Hopefully he'll have taken heed of the crowd reaction here, and come back to Scotland very very soon! It seems so many people love Paul, despite what the papers have been saying. There is nothing like the thrill of seeing him and the band live and being surrounded by like minded people. Next one I am definitely getting closer, come hell or high water, and making a huge sign to hold up, and taking a camera. That's my one regret from last night. It was amazing. The colours, the fireworks, the saltire, and of course the music. Does not get any better than that. And I'm so emotional watching vids of 'Mull of Kintyre' on YouTube now! I'll be playing his music full blast all week long. I wish I could go to Hyde Park next week, that would be the total icing on the cake. It's just never enough, even though he played almost three hours and so many hits. My parents and my 14 year old sister who has remained sceptical about my love for the Beatles and Paul have now had their minds transformed. They had excellent seats too and loved it. I am still on such a high, wonder how long it will last! Hehe.

Very few empty seats, it was practically capacity despite what the Glasgow Herald might have had you believe! Bloody brilliant.

Last night was one of the best nights of my life. He was amazing, and can't believe we got to stand right up at the barrier (thanks Jolanda for letting us know it was ok for us to stand!) I see the put a couple of chairs behind me so no one else could come up to the barrier, so think was only the first couple of rows who were standing. He was in great form, I was a bit worried when I seen the footage of the Isle of Wight gig, his voice wasn't the best on some of the songs, but last night, everything was perfect from start to finish. From the first song the whole crowd were on their feet. One of the highlights for me was getting my red loveheart Paul McCartney cushion on the big screen behind the band a few times, and at the end of Hey Jude it appeared as a big close up for what it seemed like for ages. What a night, my back was breaking, feet and legs were killing me, but it was all worth it, and i'd do it again tonight. I said I wasn't going to take many photos, but I got a bit snap happy, I will post them on facebook. Thanks Paul for the best night ever, and please come back to Scotland soon!!
Wow, you got to go right up front, amazing! And that was your loveheart cushion! I kept seeing it on the screens, love the fact it was shown so many times. I reallly have to take a sign next time.

I was sat in Block AA7 Row K and it was the best gig I've been to, let alone McCartney show. Paul was well up for that show and the feedback from the audience proved that! My voice is still hoarse from singing! Still don't know how Macca hits those high notes! I'm 35 and I just croaked badly when singing Helter Skelter! Thanks to Paul, Rusty, Brian and Abe for putting on one helluva show!

A wonderful gig.The fourth time I have seen him,and probably the best I have seen him.A fanatastic varied set. If anyone tries to tell you that Paul can't sing very well any more, feel free to tell them on my behalf that they are talking utter rubbish. His singing for the ENTIRE gig was excellent tonight - better than Glasgow SECC 20 years ago. The scaremongers who talked about thousands of empty seats were also talking through a hole in their you know where.Apart from a couple of tiny patches of empty seats the gig was more or less full. I was so happy to at last take my wife, my 72 year old dad and 68 year old mum and my three young boys to see Paul live in Glasgow. They all enjoyed it so much. Paul actually genuinley seemed taken aback at the reception he was getting. He used much of the usual speil - but thats cool. Many people would have been seeing this for the first time. It's just that when,he kept on thanking the crowd, there was something simple and heartfelt about it - as if he really sensed how glad we were that he came back.I haven't noticed that at any other of his gigs I've been to. ...and the fireworks - WOW On behalf of my family, thank you SO much Paul Mccartney.
I can't say anything other than this. I agree entirely. Superb. The other band members are such characters too.
