TLP.....THANK YOU!!! I didn't realize this, and I'm off tomorrow.... I can see now that I'm not going to get alot done.... I have to buy some kind of recorder to record these shows!
-
You're welcome! I recorded the episodes, but finally gave in when Amazon had a sale. I bought all of the current series box sets from 2005 onward. I am very happy that I did, as the special features are well worth the investment.

Doctor Who Marathon Tomorrow... BBC America Monday 17th of May 11am - 6pm EDT Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide Season 5 Episodes 1 - 5 The Christmas Invasion (2005)
Sounds a great day's viewing Anita! Did you enjoy the second part of the Weeping Angels story? I've been wondering whether the triplets enjoyed it. Were they hiding behind the sofa this time?
love2travel:
... But with the Angels show, it's because I only had one eye open Didn't want to get caught looking at any one of those Angels in the eyes....
Ooh, got me remembering Amy with rock dust coming out of her eye....Scary moment that and nice special effect. Doctor Who Live More details were released for the Doctor Who arena tour this autumn, complete with "real-life" Daleks, Cybermen, Judoon and Weeping Angels!! Matt and Karen will record new inset scenes to be played on the big screen during the spectacular to give the show a proper story. Murry Gold, the composer for Doctor Who, will be there with an orchestra to provide live musical accompaniment from the series. Should be a great night. Just need to work out how to afford the tickets!! : Details here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment_and_arts/10118464.stm

Sounds a great day's viewing Anita! Did you enjoy the second part of the Weeping Angels story? I've been wondering whether the triplets enjoyed it. Were they hiding behind the sofa this time?
Hi, Jeremy! Saw your post last night, and this morning, twice became distracted, and forgot to get back here...so sorry! ops: I LOVED Flesh and Stone! The triplets enjoyed it as well. Although we really LOVED the season opening episode, we collectively feel that this two part episode is the best of the season so far. Joe and Jenn were fine, Audrey was pretty much glued to me for the entire hour! She didn't know whether to open her eyes, or keep them closed! All three started to get a bit stressed out when Amy couldn't find the communicator! LOVED this..."Amy, you need to start trusting me, its never been more important." "But you don't always tell me the truth." "If I always told you the truth, I wouldn't need you to trust me." I also liked when he told her that he'll always come back. As always, brilliant lines delivered... "River Song, I could bloody kiss you!" "Maybe when you're older!" "You, me, handcuffs...must it always end this way?" "Can I trust you, River Song?" "If you like, but where's the fun in that?" I am captivated by the notion that the Doctor is preoccupied with impressing Amy. I find this quite interesting. Very cool to see the return of Converse high tops! Like the Doctor's appearance better with his jacket off. The jacket seems too old for his young appearance, but certainly not for his age. The last scene... Well, certainly this last scene leaves no doubt in anyone's mind that the Doctor is most definitely not a man!!! Clearly, I was prepared for this scene. The blogger definitely blew it way out of proportion. I am a fairly liberal parent when it comes to the arts, so this scene was a non-issue in our home. However, I can see how a more rigid parent may have an issue with this scene. If I had some hand in the process, I probably would have either directed that the scene be less aggressive, or cut the scene from the standard issue, and left it in for the director's cut to be viewed On Demand, DVD special features, etc. I like the scene, and feel that it is well done. Amy's time...26/6/2010...base code of the universe...looking forward to this! Doctor Who Live...Really wish that we had this here! Hope it works out for you getting tickets, Jeremy, as well as anyone else hoping to attend! What a great family night out!

Thanks Anita. Glad you all enjoyed the episode. Stephen Moffatt writes some great one-liners doesn't he! Yes, very scary in the forest when she dropped the communicator. I also found it chilling when the "clerics" kept forgetting each other as they were sucked into the crack in time. It also sent a chill down my spine when Amy started uncontrollably counting down from 10. 26th June is a Saturday, so that probably co-incides with the final episode here in the UK. Stephen's certainly setting it up for a great finale. It would be great if you could get the finale the same day as us. Although it's our revenge because we have to wait 6 days to see the final ever episodes of Lost! I will be going into virtual radio and internet silence between the Lost finale airing in the US next Sunday and its transmission over here the following Friday....Can't risk SPOILERS!!!

It is a shame that it's not aired on the same day. After receiving the Christmas special a day later than the UK, I had hoped that we would be following you within a day or two with start of the new season. I really cannot complain, as at one point we were nearly a season behind you! Given that, two weeks doesn't seem too bad. "SPOILERS!!!" Sorry that you are losing one of your favorites. Hope you enjoy the final episode!

Just watched episode 8 of 13 - The Hungry Earth. Can't really believe we're so far into this "new" series already. Wonderful story-line, beautiful character scripting. More and more of Amy and boyfriend's relationship unfolding. Not telling any tales though Just understand you're due a treat.... again... Martin

I agree Martin, "The Hungry Earth" was another superb episode with a real moral dilemma starting to emerge ahead of episode 2 next week. Been some really thought-provoking stories running through this season and this was no exception. The episode was very creepy in places and had some wonderful performances from a small ensemble of actors. Matt was excellent tonight, I thought. Easily up there with the first of the Weeping Angels episodes, although the second Angels episode was probably the best of the season to date, imho. Great cliffhanger too! Stephen Moffatt (with the slight exception of the Dalek episode) I salute you!

Great to know that you both enjoyed The Hungry Earth, guys...looking forward to it! Vampires for us this evening...enjoyed it very much! Loved when Rosanna changed! Bad news here tonight...No new episode for us next Saturday night. Memorial Day weekend here...beginning at 8 pm on Saturday through 9 pm Monday night, Doctor Who and Star Trek marathon. We'll be waiting until the 5th of June for a new episode!

Yes... I quite enjoyed this Vampires show also.... I have to say tho, I am a bit sorry about the direction of the relationship between Amy and the Doctor! That final scene in Amy's bedroom was a bit of a shocker.... I thought the Doctor had been leading Amy down that path all along... Since I haven't really seen any other seasons, I'm not really sure about the potential for the Doctor to have any kind of "Earthly" relationship... But I was very surprised at his reaction there!!! There was one comment early on about his returning to Amy... don't quite remember, but I had thought at the time, that it meant he was quite taken with her as a child... I am taking from the above comments that the boyfriend Rory is there to stay!? It was a bit funny to see him fighting a sword with a broom! There was a suggestion somewhere that he had reminded Amy of the Doctor? On the other hand, I am seeing the Doctors comfort in dealing with aliens... his conversing with Rosanna when she kept flashing to the alien waterbug. He seem quite in his element. Liked the line: "I will tear down the house of Calviera stone by stone and you know why? You didn't know her name" I am assuming that their race was killed off when Rosanna jumped into the water...although why wouldn't she be repopulating with all of the "husbands" that lay underwater? Good show overall... I am so sorry to hear that we have to wait until June for the next show TLP.... Thanks for that ... it will be a long wait... :

There's a novel twist only too familiar to US members, I'm being denied access to watch BBCAmerica video content becasue I'm looking from another country - Yes Duh.... The UK - owners and creators of the BBC content hosted by BBC America Never mind - is this the regular BBC Confidential programme? Here in the UK we get shown a full length behind the scenes, interviews with cast and crew documentary featuring the episode we've jusr seen. Screened immediately on BBC Three after the first showing of each new episode on the Saturday night. Whilst I love techy things and welcome this programme I do think back and make comparisons with old fashioned magic tricks and the vow of secrecy the Magic Circle have to protect their trade... Here on the BBC we see the magic show and then immediately get a full length show telling us how they did it. Perhaps to demystify it and chill out fearful youngsters - I wonder - for instance if the Triplets, or any other Weeping Angel behind-the-sofa viewers would have benefitted? The Weeping Angel Confidential programme had the girls who play the parts in make up and fooling around in costume, much lesss intimidating. Martin

Hi Martin... well I have to say... I have certainly run into that situation way too many times with soooo many British links that have been provided here. I do understand. I believe this is exactly the show that you are explaining. It had bits with Karen and Matt in the last show, sitting on the bed in her room, joking around. Scenes of the Angels partially in costume but clearly "human" and then it showed how they put a think mat down on the forest floor, for Karen to "fall" on for the scene in the forest, in which she falls. It also showed their harnesses when the ship "lost gravity" and all of the angels fell back into the hole. It was very interesting!

Torchwood afternoon marathon today on BBC America... 11am - 5pm EDT Series 1 Episodes 1 - 6

Thanks so much for that TLP I'm going to put that right on.... have to catch up!
-
TLP, Do you believe we were left hanging with Part 1 Rise of the Machines?!? Now how do we get part 2??? Ohhhhhh that was just wrong!!! : I did get to see Rose... I really like the David doctor so much...
-
In "Vampires of Venice", I enjoyed that scene where the Doctor thinks he is showing his invisible paper to the female sea vamps, and it turns out it's his library card with a photo of his first incarnation (The First Doctor: William Hartnell). That was funny!

We were left hanging so many times when we first started watching Doctor Who!!! The good news is that BBCA has really pulled it together in the last couple of years! For the most part, they air the episodes in proper sequence with the exception of a random episode thrown in here and there. As to the continuation of Rise of the Cybermen...The next episode is The Age of Steel. This episode may been seen Tuesday evening at 5 PM EDT, and again on Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM EDT. Wednesday will bring a Doctor Who afternoon marathon... 11 AM EDT - 6 PM EDT Season 2, Episodes 1 - 7. Rise of the Cybermen is episode 5, and The Age of Steel is episode 6 of this season. You may continue with episodes 8 and 9 on Thursday and Friday at 5 PM EDT. Memorial Day weekend brings a marathon of Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (LOVE Gordon Ramsay!!!) to BBCA. If you have a life, it may be best to fire up the recorder! One of the many reasons that I finally gave in and bought the DVD box sets. BTW, the next time you visit BBCA, try browsing the schedule by show, Doctor Who, etc. Doing so will return a description of all episodes airing over the next couple of weeks. Have fun!!!
