Loved seeing the photos of Bryce and Zion National parks! Reminded me of a trip to Rocky Mountain National park. Did a non technical hike/climb up Long's Peak. It's such a beautiful park, has anyone gone there? Really liked the photos of the Casbah and Saville Row... wish you could go up on the roof there! Has anyone been to Acapulco and seen the cliff divers? Very cool!! There's a woman diver too!! http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t620/love2travel6/Travel/DSC09030_zps7dafa293.jpg http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t620/love2travel6/Travel/DSC09021_zps7d711de3.jpg

Yes, I've been there a few times, first was Linda's photo exhibit next door. I don't always look things up for spelling... of course you are correct... was thinking of Spain I guess

Wow! You've been to 30 countries and haven't been to Liverpool?! I've been in '93, '06 and '11. The last time was the best because I was with a tour group and we were taken to lots of places I'd never have found on my own (or would have taken a bit of trouble to find) Went to The Casbah, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, John & Paul's boyhood homes (inside tours), Ye Cracke, The Jacaranda, The Cavern, The Cavern Pub, The Beatles Shop, the Jewish cemetery where Brian Epstein is buried, Chiswick House (where Paperback Writer & Rain were filmed--nothing has changed!) Twickenham Studios, Woolton Parish/St. Peter's (where John met Paul), Walton Hospital (where Paul was born), and the pub where Ringo's scene in A Hard Day's Night was filmed and many other locales! It was wonderful!
What tour did you take in Liverpool? My husband and I went in 2004, but it was only a day trip, we took the train from London. We went to the Albert Docks to see "The Beatles Story" exhibt and then a bus tour (Magical Mystery Tour) that took us to all 4 childhood homes, Penny Lane, Strawbery Fields and the Cavern. While it was wonderful to see all these things, the trip was on a tight schedule and I know we missed a lot of stuff. I would have loved to have more time to just stoll around.

Went on Beatletour.com's tour. If I went again I would use Charles Rosenay's Magical History Tour (Liverpool Productions) We had 5 days in Liverpool (during Beatles Week) and then 5 days in London.

Read Kon Tiki and Aku Aku in the 3rd grade after Thor Heyerdahl came to our school. Finally got to see the balsa wood boats from these books at the Thor Heyerdahl museum in Oslo Norway. Very cool!! Want to go to Easter Island! http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t620/love2travel6/Travel/005_2A_zpsab6030bc.jpg http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t620/love2travel6/Travel/009_6A_zps1aca2648.jpg Also went to the Viking museum

Sorry, no I didn't have a chance because I was with my traveling aunt. I did see the beautiful building. I wish I had the time to stop there too. It was near the Kon Tiki I believe!! I'll have to go back, I really enjoyed Norway and those cool black roofs on some great looking houses. I loved all of the Trolls everywhere too!! The boat that I did see was in Sweden, the Vasa, which was raised from the harbor floor. That was really interesting because of how the water seemed to keep everything from the 1600's from disintegrating. It was very interesting to see all of the really old items that they salvaged from that boat, as well as how well preserved it was

I just recently got back from my favorite city in the whole world Toronto Ontario Canada. What a fabulous city that is. I was also in Cleveland Ohio and West Virginia as well during my two week vacation I badly needed.

I wish I had seen these posts sooner! I watched a documentary on Vasa a few years ago and gave the book Kon Tiki to my 15 year old brother for his birthday in 1974

The Vasa was very interesting to see... Of course you understood why it didn't make it out of the harbor... It was just so interesting to see all of the items that they found with the ship! Kon Tiki was really interesting too. There was also the book Aku Aku and it made me want to get to Easter Island ! I want to see the giant statues. There is folklore of a race of mini people on Easter Island... Both books were fascinating.

It had design flaws including being top heavy and bad ballast. She only made it a short distance before a moderate wind tipped her over. The Kon Tiki book that I bought for my brother had beautiful colored glossy photographs of the reed raft. According to one show I watched on Easter Island, the inhabitants used up all of the trees on the island transporting the stones, which altered the eco-system and led to their demise.

I wish I had seen that special. If you ever get a chance to see the Vasa, it's well worth the visit. Some things are kept under special temperature and pressure to keep them from disintegrating. There was even food found... The boat is a tremendous size which can be accessed by several floors that go up to the side of the boat. The book on Kon Tiki with those photos sounds really nice. I'll have to go back and read it again. It's quite a story! The people on the island lived underground at one point! It was fascinating about building and erecting the statues. Some statues originally had a hugh red topknot on top of them. Wonder how they did that? I have to go check it out, it's on my bucket list. The closest habitable island is Pitcairn Island where the Bounty mutineers wound up!

Amzing that you have travelled all the way to Norway to see the Kon Tiki! Maybe next time you can see Fram and Gjøa. It is right next to the Kon Tiki Museum. I haven't been there in a few years. I think I should see the polar vessels again soon. Cool that you enjoyed Norway. It is beautiful here now. Warm and sunny! hehe, we love trolls here.

I went to school in Paris, which is not strictly travel, but during breaks I wandered about the continent. Or at least the northern end. Finland was especially interesting as it is very different from my home.

Yes Trolls... I have a few great photos of them! I remember seeing the word Fram,(was that an A Frame building?) however my auntie who I was traveling with, is not as adventurous. I was thankful that I got her to go to The Viking Museum and the Thor Heyerdahl Museum. Next time, I will be sure to see Fram and Gjøa as well. I travel alone now, because no one likes to keep up with me and my adventures! I can't be held back... we went to Paris and my Auntie didn't want to go up the Eiffel Tower!!! I left her early one morning and had a grand time there!! Then walked around and found her with the tour group in Montmartre...
