Fantastic photo of Paul at the signing!
I'd like to see the pre-photoshopped image though.

You think it was photoshopped? You mean touched up to make him look better? I don’t know - when he smiles broadly like that, his face always looks better.

Kestrel, look at these and compare the non-smiling to smiling broadly ones and you’ll see what I mean.

GettyImages always photo shop their photos before release. There's no way that is a natural chin or neck of a 77 year old man, even allowing for the use of make-up. There's a particular photo I remember of Paul taken at the V&M Queen Mary party 44 years ago and he was looking a lot more craggy then than he did the other day !!

Regardless, he looks much better when he is smiling broadly, that was/is my point.
(44 years ago he was 33!! He was at the height of his good looks then!)

He went downhill soon after though !!
The first (and really the only time) I spent any time close to Paul was at the Take It Away video shoot and I guess I was standing about three feet away from him for a couple of minutes or so. And I can clearly recall thinking how rough he looked, and how much older he looked in real life compared to the photos and tv appearences I had seen previously. And he'd only just celebrated his 40th birthday a few days before.

I finally found wher eth pics are from - there's a video in about 100 times actual speed on Paul's instagram that shows 5 lots of signing - inc me!
https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17849246695546628/
Wow!!!! I've managed to grab some screenshots, can't believe it
Never managed to get instagram to work before, had to create an account to actually see the content fully and there it was!
-
It also says "Paul will be answering your questions on instragam stories this week" with a button to type a question, but it's just a screen grab so wont type.
Anyone know how you do that? I'd ask one!

I posted this yesterday in the regular Grandude thread but I don't know if it works:
Paul will be answering your #HeyGrandude questions on Instagram Stories this coming week
See the compass needle spin, let the magic fun begin

Been seeing a fair few of the signed books on eBay which is so infuriating! Can't believe people happily took that amazing moment from someone. Still don't know why we weren't allowed to ask for a dedication for the signature as I felt that that would prove that it's for a fan.

Your link doesn’t take me to any Paul IG stories. I searched for Paul to get to his IG page, but how do you see the stories?

Go to his Twitter page. You can find the tweet about this and ask questions there.
Just went to his IG page and he is answering questions now via video! You can type in a question.

Eeee Cor Blimey, did you see the above photo I cropped for you?(on page 5 of this thread)

It baffled me as well. As you're saying, that person willingly went in there to take away this unique chance from a true fan, just to make money.
When McCartney was still there (!), the first listing went online. I saw the Waterstones crew passing around a cellphone with an eBay screenshot, and they were shocked. Well, I wasn't. A personal dedication would've taken this all away: the sell-on value of the book would be way less (who's going to buy a signed book to "Rupert from Giggleswick"?) and the value for the fan would've been priceless. Plus it would've barely taken him any extra time.
I felt slightly awkward when McCartney paused with signing after he asked my name, and I didn't know whether this was my cue to spell my name out or not, and he was explained to me "they asked me to not do any dedications today", but we both laughed about it.

Just did this edit on my ghost YouTube-account for posterity. A day to remember.

Hi, I’ve just joined the forum. I attended the event last Friday and I have to say it was one of the best moments of my life meeting Paul I’m still on a high from it all. I just wanted to know are there any sites that are showing additional photos from the event. I was hoping to see myself.

Did you ask for your name only to be told he can't? I've read that that happened a lot, i forgot to! But you'd think the staff would inform the person about to go up, rather than make that person feel awkward in front of Paul having him say no to them.
Usually from what i've seen his signings always have a dedictaion to stop sales etc (2006 ecce cor meum, 2008 fireman, 2013 new), but i don't think high in the clouds in 2005 did - do you think book publishers like their book to be as "valuable" as possible as a first edition, so are wrongly happy for them to go sky high? Or am i synical?!
Not parting with mine, or should i say ours, as i'll share it with my son.

yes thank you so much!!!!
Still can't believe it got captured. Did you see the video (blink and you miss it) i linked to (via the grandude circle on pauls instagram) that seems to be where it all comes from? Someone has put a frame by frame slow version you you tube so you can see it all. Totally happy!
Me on bended knee in front of Paul with my son!
