Funny! I heard a surgeon say last night on TV that the masks don't prevent things getting in. They're designed so the surgeons' bacteria don't get out onto the patients. Oh boy!
Not exactly right. Regular masks are useless for Covid-19! In the O.R. if we had a TB patient, we would wear the N-95 masks and put the positive pressure machine in the room to recirculate the air. The masks prevent us from getting the TB (or virus) because the mask doesn't allow the germs in like a regular O.R. mask which only prevents us from sneezing or spitting on the patient and/or in the surgical site or passing germs to them. The patient with known TB or Covid-19 should wear a mask to protect us, too, prior to the surgery. Of course we also had gowns, gloves, caps/bonnets, and booties on.
The average person right now doesn't have access to the N-95 masks. The hospitals are running low - someone stole all of ours from the main O.R.!! So it is futile for you to wear a mask when you go out grocery shopping. Just don't get too close to people. I used hand sanitizer on the handle of my cart. After I got home I washed my hands. -

I heard that right in the beginning. And if you use gloves, they have to be thrown away after every use.
Thrown away between patients. In the O.R. as a circulating nurse, we went through tons of non-sterile gloves on one surgery when we would have to bag up bloody laps and sponges at various times during the surgery. Most surgeries lasted 2-4 hours.

LOL just want to know about everyone waiting in lines for guns.
Remember the happier days like 2017 when one of Trumps lawyers (not Cohen) said to the TV cameras, that the Dems and Publicans would be in the streets shooting at each other, and we laughed...like how absurd... the quarantining is not so bad really... washes hands again

People are being nicer where I'm at, letting you in traffic and 6 foot spacing. I know what you mean tho. Just read the people of West Virginia still think its not true and the local govt is having to get them up to speed.
I'm not going out to stores anymore. Have a big bag of beans and rice. Canned and frozen stuff. Eating less now so we're all going on diets! If you feel like eating, just turn on a political channel and you aren't hungry! It's the Corona diet!

I know what you mean, I even had a couple of days of too many of the mint chocolate chip yogurt ice cream bars and these little caramel candies. I indulged and didn't have much good food...you just have to tell yourself its an emergency and forgive yourself.
I'm trying a new 8/16 intermittent fasting diet that's supposed to be healthy. I wakeup and drink coffee or 0 cal green tea mango teas with stevia sweetner. Then you can eat normal for 8 hours so 1130 to 730 PM then only coffee (a little creamer is ok) or 0 cal drinks. It's pretty easy cause you can eat regular food during 8 hours. Coffee tea or 0 cal the 16 hours. No counting calories.

^ I think with all that's going on, I'm eating out of nervousness. I feel the need for comfort food.
I've heard about that diet that you're trying. My problem would be that I get up at 5:30 & wouldn't be able to wait till 11.

What do you get up at 5:30 for?! I thought you were retired! Is it because of the dog? That's why I have cats! I'm up until about 2:30 or 3 and sleep until 10 or 11 am lately. And I don't/can't eat if I'm too stressed. Lost a bunch of weight during my 2 divorces! I've been eating a tad better lately (for me, a ham sandwich, kosher dill pickle and cottage cheese is "eating better.")

^ I get up early just from habit. The dog has nothing to do with it. Just like your habit...you always were a night owl right? Did you work nights?
