Dumb question: Is "Lindy Lou" a song for Linda?
There ya go, mate

Although the video obviously proves the song's origin wasn't for Linda, given Linda's full name (especially middle name of Louise), I would guess Paul performance of it was indeed for Linda's sake...

Had to be.

I wonder if masking such a brain fart is so natural to him, he doesn't even think anything about it (although on other occasions, I've heard him fess up to the mistakes)

It happens! Even to Paul McCartney! He covers it up well. John Lennon used to forget lyrics to his own songs all the time in The Beatles and he would just sing made up sounds and smile and it rocked. I always loved C'mon People. It is a great song!

One of my favorite John screwing up the lyric moments was "Don't Let Me Down" during the rooftop concert:

Except for you, do you think anyone at the concert really cared?

I know it has been over twenty years, and it is much easier to recall and get excited about more recent tours. However, I think the 1993 tour was fantastic, and boasted an even better set list than the 1989-90 tour, IMO. Songs like Penny Lane, Fixing A Hole, Here There and Everywhere, Magical Mystery Tour, Paperback Writer and Drive My Car made it a really special concert event. I got to see this tour in Las Cruces, NM and then in Boulder, CO. The outdoor settings were great, and the staging was awesome. Any one else feel the same?
I recently watched the concert I attended in Charlotte (1993) and I really loved seeing it again. I agree, loved the set list also and how many songs he did from "Off The Ground". Kind of funny seeing Mr. McCartney with long slightly graying hair which looked good. It was also good to look back and see concert with different guitarists and drummer than he has had the last dozen years.

Watching him own that bass on "Another Day" is mind-blowing. Classic Paul stuff there.

The 1993 tour will always be my favorite because it was the first time I saw him, he was in great voice (better than 1989/1990) and the setlist was fantastic, with no less than 6 (!!!) songs from Off The Ground performed.

Yep, somehow the audiences survived not hearing a majority Beatle show and just enjoyed a rock icon and top notch band.

Yeah, Paul McCartney doesn't play bass like that anymore. My guess is that he underplays to preserve his energy for such a long show. "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Day Tripper" are the only songs where he gives the goods these days.

Also, Brian plays a lot of bass too, so folks are not getting Paul doing his iconic bass lines. Brian does a great job, BTW!

I recall Paul playing bass on Paperback Writer during that tour, but sticking to guitar during more recent tours

We're supposed to swoon at being in the presence of that Epiphone Casino.
