I ended up with a single in ORCH 2 ROW R SEAT 211 that I must thank my brother for getting for me. I was unable to be behind a computer at the time of the general on sale as I was in an airport in Norfolk as I was just finishing up a trip seeing the return of Phish after nearly five years in the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA. I told my brother not to go over $150 but he took it upon himself to get me a single for $249.50. He told me he felt I would not regret spending the extra cash and he is right, I am so excited to have a chance to see Sir Paul McCartney and his former Beatle bandmate Ringo Starr share the stage for the first time in nearly a decade. On a side note, Phish are allowing phans to get free MP3 downloads of their first three shows back at the Hampton Coliseum on March 6,7,8, 2009 for a limited time. On the second night Phish closed the set with the Beatles "A Day in the Life" and the third night they performed the Beatles again, this time "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." As I was seeing my favorite touring band back on stage covering the Beatles on back to back nights I felt that I was going to be lucky to get tickets for the Radio City Music Hall concert on Monday and I was right. Peace and Love, Tim

Article from today's NY Daily News: Prices for Beatles reunion show tickets leave fans A-Paul-ed BY Helen Kennedy DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Wednesday, March 11th 2009, 1:22 AM Organizers of the hotly anticipated New York reunion of the surviving Beatles apologized Tuesday to irate fans who couldn't buy tickets on Ticketmaster - even though scalpers were already hawking dozens of ducats. "We were alarmed [to see] that tickets were listed on the scalping sites days before they went on sale," Chris Busch, program director of the David Lynch Foundation, wrote in an e-mail to fans. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, who haven't played together since 2002, are headlining an all-star charity show at Radio City Music Hall April 4 to help provide transcendental meditation classes to poor children. Demand for the tickets was overwhelming when they went on sale Monday at 11 a.m. About 75% had already sold in a presale for fan club members, but 1,200 seats were supposedly still available. Tell that to Mark Ryan, who was ready to be the first to buy tickets but ended up one of the first denied. He said the Web site declared it was sold out at 11:00:09 a.m. "Sold out in nine seconds? I found that hard to believe," he said. "It has become blatantly obvious that Ticketmaster has no interest in selling tickets to the general public at face value." Plenty of the benefit tickets are still available from scalping Web sites - for up to $9,000 a pop. Neil Boxer of Bayside, Queens, said his wife, who has been a Beatles fan since 1962 and has seen every McCartney show since, was "heartsick" to miss out but couldn't pay the scalpers' fees. "The concert happens to be on our 33rd anniversary and I promised her I'd get tickets," he said.

Anyone else think "Sing the Changes" would be pretty much the most appropriate song Paul could perform at an event like this? Apart from having the most infectious tune, the lyrics are just made for the occasion! Like the sun plays in the morning feel the choir feel the thunder every ladder leads to heaven colored pencils draw the picture see the changes as you're sleeping feel the quiet in the thunder see the changes go on & on oh!

Some videos to check out for those of you like me that aren't real familiar with the artists other that Paul and Ringo:
-
The last time Paul played at a show with multiple artists (Concert for New York City) he performed a few songs for the first time (I'm Down, Lonely Road, From a Lover To A Friend, and Freedom). I wonder if he'll chose a unique set list for this show as well? Personally, I hope he does a song or two from Electric Arguments. _________________ Wings - 5/21/76 Met Paul during Driving USA Tour-4/21/02 "High-five" from Paul during US Tour-10/5/05 In Pauls' DVD "The Space Within US" At Pauls' NY "secret" gig - 6/13/07!!! Ohhhh cool!! I am not known for my patience!! Glad they got in and found seats. I was so afraid I would not get tickets that I gave up after several tries. The Boston Concert in 05 sold out in 10 minutes but he did a second show so I got in for that one. This time I freaked out and went to a reseller for tickets because I really wanted to get one. Only thing is I paid alot but got a decent seat in the Orchestra section. This will be a fantastic experience. I still cannot believe it. Question...since it is a Benefit do you think there is any special attire we should wear??? Rock On!!

I too hope that Sir Paul McCartney decides to perform at least one song from his latest album 'Electronic Arguments.' Beyond that I would just expect some hits and a couple of songs written during the era that the Beatles were hanging out with the Maharishi. So that would be some material off of 'the Beatles (aka the White Album).' Peace and Love, Tim

"Sing the Changes" would be an appropriate song selection for this benefit concert. As I just posted agreeing with DrivinFan that I agree I would hope that Sir Paul McCartney would do a song from the 'Electronic Arguments' ablum, "Sing the Changes" would be a great choice. Peace and Love, Tim

Oh poo, I tried until noon that day thinking that very thing, but still no luck. I have had a lot of luck recently though...where oh where have the concert gods gone?! As for dress, I dunno, but being a benefit, I wouldn't turn up in jeans and a t-shirt at any rate. No luck on the ticket front yet, Harley, but I haven't given up hope. Have fun all lucky enough to have tickets.

Chicago Tom:
Ticketmaster and Live Nation are just like crooks and they top it off with all of their handling charges.
The day the music died! Now it all about fleesing the fans. Corp america takes over anti establisment industry. Greedy pigs! I don't belive they released 75% of the tickets to there fans. I belive they had other arrangement they called presale tickets. Like the employees getting a few hundred to resale on there OTHER site.

If anyone happens 2 have 2 extras I'd love to take them off your hands. (I've been trying to get back on here as I forgot my old login info. LOL) I pulled a single, but I'd really prefer to go with my father. This would be our 5th time seeing Paul. Was lucky enough to meet him at the B&N book signing years ago. Cheers! -Pete
