Not so bad being single I walk around the apartment Looking at the walls Dancing with a broom, mop and dust rag Cleaning the area Hoping to keep everything to suit someone Yet the only one to suit is me Perhaps an inspector, Maybe a male friend whom I haven?t met Yet I enjoy the single glare at times No having to deal with the whales of never satisfied Well I get up and fix my breakfast Eat the delectables bought Acquired from the coupon clippings No longer having to gather the eggs as of old Just get out the skillet fill with butter and eggs yummy Yet, I eat at no particular time No particular way. Happy to choose my own dietary desires No man to try to pick through the pickiness Thinking there are some benefits to being a single woman. I can dress down and enjoy it Comfort during the day No shame at night Free from worry during the dreams Able to make up my own mind as the time to sleep. After all the good ones at my age are mostly married The gossipers are afraid I am after their catches When in reality I do not want their problems The men that are available want the yonger girls I gained the middle age charm, enjoying it guys. I guess the sentiment here is being single is okay Being married is okay if you are in a happy marriage Being subjected to gossip by others is not so good Yet if you are shame on you gossipers get another hobby Enjoy who you are and relax, quit looking around the corner.
