Fixed!

Yes, correct date is August 7. Perhaps a mod or the original poster can correct? Don't want to upset the folks going to Pittsburgh on July 7 -)
-
Looks like we were posting at same time! Great minds think alike?

I was so excited while posting the announcement, I fudged the date when I initially posted!

yes it is on a Thursday august 7th. if anybody is thinking about going to this concert, it is downtown where the UTAH JAZZ play, you will like the area, hotels and food close by, easy to walk, or use the TRAX line, it stops right in front of building. we have a nice city but try not to buy tickets for the upper bowl of the building,, some concerts do not sound so good up there,, lower bowl is better,, but the people that work for PAUL will make sound good,, get it dialed in good,, it can be a great sounding concert for you

ENERGY SOLUTIONS ARENA does not sell tickets thru ticket master,, they dumped them about 3 or 4 years ago they sell thru smith tixs it is a local deal,, meaning a grocery store,, a large chain in the state,, they are very good,, fees are lower sometimes,, so you may do better verses ticket master

Super stoked, we were able to get 8 total tickets. It took 5 separate orders under 5 different accounts, but we got myself, wife, 2 oldest kids, sister, niece and grandparents attending. This will be my 17th Sir Paul show and second in Utah in the past 4 years. It's going to be a great night in August!

Awesome! I was finally able to get four but not together. It took a while and was pretty stressful! Should be a great time, I saw him four times just last year and I always need more!

Is the start time 7pm or 8pm? paulmccartney.com says 7pm, but Smith Tix says 8pm.
-
I got my tickets today. Section 6, bottom, near the floor. Can't wait for McCartney concert #5.

The hotels in downtown SLC are apparently all sold out for the night of August 7th. This seems very strange since the pre-sale just started today. Any hotel tips. I don't mind driving 5 miles but would like a straight shot down to the arena without having to get back on the interstate to get there. Also, any chance that the hotels have locked up rooms for those nights just so they can raise the prices later? I find it very hard to believe that this night is booked up when other nights in August are not and again, are people really flooding into SLC for the concert already?

yea downtown maybe booked full for the 7th,, they must of known PAUL was coming to play. look farther south in the city or even west out by the airport, go to Google, you can stay off the freeway and use highway 89 or main street or north temple to drive to ESA, ninety percent of the streets run north & south or east & west, very easy to drive downtown compared to others. the front entrance is on south temple, 300 west is on the east side, parking close by will cost lower than most cities. YOU WILL ENJOY IT :

Yahoo!! I got my ticket this morning--HOT SOUND-- 3rd row--right in front of Paul!! Just got finished booking my room--got a great deal--couldn't find anything downtown so I "suburbed" it--7 miles really isn't that far to drive to the arena. I drove from California to Manchester, Tennessee last year to see Paul at Bonnaroo--soooo--I'm just sayin'..... GET here August!!! Austin 5/22/13 Sound check! Austin 5/23/13 Bonnaroo 6/14/13 & Sound check Outside Lands 8/9/13 Jimmy Kimmel Hollywood Blvd. 9/23/13 Grammy Special Paul&Ringo 1/27/14 Salt Lake City 8/7/14 Sound check!

Thank you Scotty. I think we will try the airport hotels. I had hoped to stay within walking distance of the arena but oh well. Still amazing that things are booked up this far in advance.

Yeah, checking hotels yesterday after procuring tickets Days Inn and Extended Stay type hotels downtown still had rooms available for the low, low price of $150/night.... Obviously price gouging isn't illegal in Utah!

keep looking and trying out of city limits such as the city of MURRY or SANDY or BOUNTIFUL in DAVIS COUNTY just to the north of SALT LAKE,, then you can drive south or north on us highway 89 to get to the arena,, or the 15 freeway,, it may take you 20 or 30 minutes,, it is a work day and Utah does have traffic also accidents ops: they drive too fast on the freeway
-
you will find more rooms in UTAH county in the north section just across the county line in the city of LEHI next to the 15 freeway,, about 30 miles south of downtown,, prices may be lower,, may have vacant rooms now but you will need to drive the freeway to get to the arena,, leave about 2 pm and miss a lot of the rush hour,, it will take you 30 or 40 minutes to be at the arena,, park car and hang out downtown relax

i found one room in a b&b in SLC . There is a huge national Outdoor Retailers Summer Market convention going on the same week - I think that's why all the rooms are booked - there are 20,000 members of that organization. Some hotels near the airport also had rooms as of yesterday.
