I LOVE POEMS
-
Thank you for the kind words for my tiny Word play. My only hope is,my writing will become a stepping stone for somebodies to feel something and to think something.
-
I'm assuming these were written in Japanese and then translated into English. Can you post both versions?
-
Thank you for your interest,HaileyMcComet. Because this is a problem related to copyright law, I avoid publishing in this place. I send DM you. Certainly these are based on Japanese pop songs, but they are not literal translation.
-
I thought these were translations of original songs/poems written by you. I didn't realize they were translations of a boy band's songs. Although, looking back, that makes sense.
-
Thanks for your concern! I will tell you just for their introduction, they are not boy bands, they are an Idol group project, consisting of five members(from Wikipedia). and I define this as "my Impression of English" because it is too much too freely to call it translation. and yes, they are accurately not original songs/poems written by me.Avoid doing further explanation.by the copyright issue.

from woolton fair to abbey road eternal love does not grow old
Here's one that I wrote several years ago that seems very fitting...While roses are red
and violets are blue
God Is Love
and so are you
If all I ever
were to do
is make a rhyme
It'd be of you
and all the things
that you have done
to bring us closer
to the sunThe light of love...
In Everyone! -

there's a bluebird on a turtle and she's coming our way she is getting closer every single day she will bring us love and understanding too 'cause she's a lot like me and she's a lot like you SurSteven...Crayon trace and fill...9 years Old...circa 1961 I wrote the poem to it...in about 2005 I made this picture halfway between Woolton Fair and Ed Sullivan.
oh valentine...oh valentine
oh valentine oh valentine
your smile lights up the sun
raised in rags and poverty
a child on the run
the stench of war and violence
fill your nostrils while you sleep
you focus on the inner dream
...the nightmare makes you weep
oh valentine oh valentine
someday we'll fly away
and land upon an isle of peace
where smiles light up the day -
I really did enjoy reading some of the poems from this thread.

This is one I wrote for my other half while she was across the country, away on tour.
The pandemic was just hitting and I was so afraid that she wasn't going to be able to come home.
In my dark moment, this wiggled out of my heart... And i managed to tuck in a PM reference too!
Hope you like it
"And when I cannot reach you,
The birds then sing along,
Asking me to feed them in the early light of Dawn.
For fly with all their might they wilt,
Into a light which shines beyond,
To bring my message to your ear on the wings of their lovesong."

This is a nice one. Good job I hope she liked it
This pandemic hit us all and our relationships got tested, especially the ones with a huge distance.

COUCH PARTY 2020
Here I sit, feeling Blue,
I’m on my couch, with nothing new-
Locked away from those I love,
Not even one hug...to keep them safe-
Reaching out across the miles,
Lord knows I need your sweet smiles-
Hello, hello, I miss you so,
I’m so bummed out, we missed that show-
Your hair oh my, how it’s grown out...
Well so has mine, it’s quite a fright-
We take our walk down Memory Lane,
lets have a toast, drink our champagne-
Ice cream and cake and popcorn too,
Couch Party fare, will have to do-
Our talking flows across the hours,
Music plays, is that one new?
Heartfelt laughter ringing out,
could you play me Twist and Shout?
Talking late into the night,
Feeling joyful and happy-
Pajama Club, apparel casual,
another toast to songs we love
Lets meet again tomorrow,
and let’s Party hearty at our Couch Party

I AM THE TRAVELER
Town of which I hope to find
Longing for a place to unwind
Roaming far across the planet
Just haven’t found what’s right yet
Searching for a familiar feeling
A place that gives my Soul it’s healing
Then perhaps, I'd like to keep moving
I find the change and challenges soothing
Direction unknown
A place to call homeAnd so I continue to roam
I am the traveler

SUMMERTIME
Hide and seek with moonbeams
In the summertime...
Secret silent moonlight
Hair blowing in the breeze
Riding in the darkness
Lit by stars above
Camouflaged in darkness
Soaring with the bugs
Dancing in the moonlight
On the sand, so fine...
Crashing of the oceans waves
Flying like a dove
Oh such a delight
That no one else can see
Glorious to be here right now
Happy to be me

Hi Love2travel,
I haven't seen you for a long time. How are you doing?
Very nice poem. Thanks Little Willow, have been dealing with some minor medical issues and there have also been some other things with family etc. I missed being here and catching up on the latest with Paul and the Beatles. I’m still working on some things like renovations, however, will be around after I get caught up. I have some friends who are filling me in on musical things and I have a Steely Dan concert booked with friends. It seems like everyone I know is coming out of Covid hibernation all at once!
