I remember watching the olympics and women's ice skating in the late 80's...which inspired this poem... Lonely Boys and Twirly Girls With magical love those loverly girls in colors twirl in colors twirl with graced and graceful symmetry they bring the watchers to their feet oh lovely comely darling girl...come skate around my empty world... there's more
There's more! How did I miss this post? More please...

One sweet song on the radio Has a haunting melody Dancing with abandon across the floor All the cares flown out the door Music sweet music is the simple gift Unlocks the soul inside, gives us all a lift Music it sets my heart and soul free To where it always wants to be Enchanting and beckoning, to a happy place inside, From the music, I can never hide Universal pleasure The hearts golden treasure
Very nice! Didn't know you were a poet!

Any new poems?! Would love to read your poems! A poem for the season, which I wrote a few years ago... inspired directly by Loreena McKennitt and her Parallel Dreams album. Her songs take me back to a past life, back to the Braveheart days and days of border raiders... and stories from my Dad from his father... and a day in the dunes and my youth thrown in for good measure Parallel Dreams Arm in arm we walk Treading softly cross the moors The mist it rises, landscape dreams Echoes songs of the past In this unbroken scope Far as the eye can see I am finally home at last And in the distance, I hear the sound The Uilleann pipes they call to me The invisible cord tied to the past Ancient Celts dancing in the firelight The sound of the waves, dance upon the sands An Eagles wing floats in the air Let me lie and hold you close Feel the beating of your heart Fragrant flowers fill the air In our secluded misty lair A moment transfixed in eternity The stars of serendipity Parallel dreams

Here's a bump for the season
Earthmom1952:
TRICK OR TREAT The dark kiss hovers near enervated particles of the dauntless wayfarer, enticing the liquid moment of lovers' grandest passion; a newborn ache of urgency belies the intention of the lips' sweet offering, but being fooled for love has long been time's great occupation. No morning after waits in material worlds for the moment following the ultimate adultery; trying to cheat death is like trying cheat life-- utter impossibilities always compare to each other

LEAVES Watching leaves fall A delicate spiral Oh so graceful On soft autumn breezes Yellow and Red Dancing slowly like notes of music they sing a harvest song?

Hi,I made one poem...if you read this my pleasure...thanks "rock, anymore" Everybody does not want to see you die from heroin Everybody does not expect you will become a man who is a healthy role model That's right,we are nagging but you, you should not say such a grumble how many blonds did you sex whether you spoke ill BONO poignantly, and how? did your individual love accomplish? no all not nobody cares which they and we wish to,that's what you know you wish this too (music) has resound in a right way (music) only you can resounds so we watch you don't call it rock anymore if there is time to use for misunderstanding, let it be fun that is just a things given such a right way, from you

That is a very touching poem sweetsake...It made me cry It brought back memories of a family member who had difficulty fighting against the stranglehold of powerful drugs. Sadly we lost her, she was young and beautiful and now she has left behind a devastated family, her sister is so lost without her big sister... For all the good she could have brought to the world... Lost to us all now, because she met a few of the wrong people who she thought were cool, but they caused her her life. she had cleaned herself up, got plastic surgery to change her looks to help her move away from them...and one horrible fateful night, she ran into the old friends... Her body was clean and it couldn't take old habits. RIP dearest Marie

I just did this to do one ... spontaneously started and put words here to see where it would go ... normally I would zap it away ..... but this time I left it here for the time being. twiddle like diddle sweet little fiddle falls freely fell fondly warm wonderful warm damn the cold I curse ! warm where is warm? Why is it so damn cold?! Swirls of snow shiver in slivers ice skating timbers shaking fresh skin soft touch crackle and roar the fireplace is toasty dancing flames flicker finely on my wine glass taste unwinding unraveling wonderfully warm wrapped in fall winter grows near .....

Jack Frost is nipping at my toes tonight, just reviving a fav! Christmas Carol Joyous Song A voice crystal clear singing loud a spirit that lifts from the crowd a beauty in life that eliminates strife Voices joined in chorus The joy of the season Merriment of the heart Hymns will impart Great wonder Hot chocolate Floating marshmalows Whip cream on your nose A fire, so warm Spit and crackle hot toes Tree smells so nice like Chrismas Ahhhh Ornaments, golden orbs twinkle in the light Presents, rainbow colors, awaiting happy smiles

Thanks Steven... I really liked the Fool's poem! I dashed one off this morning, haven't written one in a while... The Blizzard of 2015 Icy day, a wintry blast Praying for snow, tempest wailing through the door... Could it be, please let it be a true blizzard here at last? Howling winds the winters choir, brought back memories, of Sandy and weeks beside a fire? Watch the snowfall It?s a whiteout, The snows falling past the streetlight like sparkling diamonds in the night? And the chill descends upon us icy breaths fog up the air, Frosty windows, lacy patterns Quick run inside and warm your hands, Morning comes, Take a peek out Hoping for two feet of snow! Need a snow day A day away, A day to play Oh please, just let it be? Not a snow day, just a slow day the world covered up in snow, like white icing on a cake On with the gloves and boots Hats and scarves wrapped tight Time to shovel, clear the walk Brrrr so cold out, On my way to work again!

This was inspired recently and though it does not rhyme I wrote It in a minute. It conveys my feelings: Goodbye my love Upon the unfinished canvas Of our lives The tide rolls in Yet I can't paint the boat Shipwrecked on our imaginary island The boat you showed me how to draw I cannot pick up the brush To finish it without you The canvas is unfinished Seagrass of green feathers On a white beach A deep blue sky with a face Stares back at me. Goodbye my love. This is the unfinished painting I was writing about:
