Just found this one... I believe I wrote it around the time of the Tsunami in Japan. Just trying to sort out a bunch of poems I've had lying around... LIFE AS A GRAIN OF SAND It's how life goes One never knows We're all the sand Flowing through The currents of our lives Sometimes we touch It means so much we flow together for a while But then the current sweeps us off Just like a river, to the sea We're still together in the sea Lost from sight, just a memory Like grains of sand, and stars so high thousands of souls, just floating by Sometimes we try to hold on tight, with all our might and form a rock of family we cling together, through the storms but lose our grip in the tsunami The ocean of humanity We never know, what will be

thanks for the comment on Lemonade Suicide, L2T. That poem meant a lot to me when I wrote it. Yours is great too. you know what it made me think of? you know how when the tide comes in? or not even the tide, but just a wave runs up onto a sandy shore, and then pulls back and all the little grains of sand are lifted up and carried for a brief while? weightless and part of the universal truths of our physical world. how cool would that be to be a grain of sand? cuase there's no risk involved there, its just flowing, part of the life of a grain of sand. freedom its what they do. the ride of a life time, something only a grain of sand can truly know. hopefully they have some sort of consciousness to know how cool their existance is and then kids carry you off on their feet. thats the bad part I suppose or if your built into a sand castle, thats sort of cool too. a new point of view! until a new wave comes and brings you back home, but home is always someplace new. good stuff L2T

Thanks Kapoo... I was watching videos of the Tusnami and when that huge wave came in and hit people... they just disappeared... then there were people who were desperately trying to hang on to each other. And the water came and eventually ripped them apart and one of them disappeared... just like a grain of sand. It made me really sad actually.

The Bonfire Ignite the bonfire on Samhain?s Night Haunting melody of mythic days Round a fire they gather to listen Dancing shadows flicker, shimmer High above the moon lies watching Musical notes float out in space Soft the glow is seen below Ancient secrets in the glimmer Of the dawn? _________________

Some really cool and surreal poetry posted here. javascript:emoticon('') I was writing a Beatle fan fiction story. Almost got the story to Paul at his concert way back in 2005. I held up a sign that said Present for Paul and Heather. Paul acknowledged it and came back a few times asking if I had the present. I said 'yeah' and held up the 8 1/2 x 11 printed copy. I don't think he thought that was the present and he didn't try to get it. I was sad but it was a good thing 'cause the story had Heather in it and it wasn't too long before the split was announced. I did rewrites and wrote her out. Then I was at another concert, in the sound check, but didn't get picked to go on stage to give it to him. I gave the story to a guy who worked at the vegetarian preconcert meal. He said he had contact with Paul and would give it to him. I've since changed the story to fictitious names 'cause it would be copyright and trademark infringement and using someone else's name and likeness, etc. Too many legal problems! So I continue to add to the story but it's not a Beatle thing anymore.

Digging through some old poems... this was a winter one... miss some of the people who used to write poems here... The Sound of Rain Across Watercolor Dreamscapes The sound of rain on the panes of glass The sound of your breath in and out As the dawn breaks, the fingers of sunlight Feel their ways around the shades, drawn so tight. The clock ticks out measured seconds The sound of the heat softly hissing Awaken from a dream, far away so it seemed I wanted to linger, in that world a bit longer The sound of the train in the distance A truck rattles by on the street Cocooned in my bed, with a song in my head It caresses me back into dreamland While fast asleep, with the world at my feet So far will I travel as the sights do unravel From Venice to Luxor in the blink of an eye It's like magic how I fly like a bird in the sky Every night as I slumber, in a world that's filled with wonder My dreams have no limits, my spirit flies free Every night a new surprise upon a magic carpet ride Through my imagination, a Lewis Carroll type creation

Yes, when I read this marvelous peice of writing, I read it and sort of rapped it in my head, and really eccenuated the beats you built into it, and wanted to let you know, it worked well its a good concoction of words, I like the descriptions of basically everyday life, hopeful. actually would make good song lyrics.

Yes, L2T I was thinking about your Dad when I read the poem. I remember. That night I went to sleep I heard the train in the distance here and thought of your poem. Carol, your Linda poem is really cool. I love the way you captured how I imagine Linda to have been. I am a great Linda fan as well.

Thanks for the nice thoughts about my Linda poem. It's nice to have a site to post poems on.

The 3 Beauties her pulchritude? so lovely viewed a beauty to adore yet in her mind i see a kind of beauty even more common sense intelligence with learnings fit to boast while in her heart i see the part of beauty i love most her love for all an answered call then hopelessly i'm caught when that she chose to share of those the beauties that were sought
