See, he has been full of surprises in 2010. Well done Paul.
'full' is stretching it a bit!
But it could definitely be a sign of things to come. 2010's surprises were what inspired this thread.

So awesome that he played One After 909 at the Apolo in 2010! I did not know that. Great clip, thanks for posting it. I like how he's still doing his high harmony line on it. Some cool surprising songs that he's played over the years. and thanks for making my Old Siam Sir request heard! cool that he actually played that one before!

Wings 1979 UK tour "Getting Closer" "I've Had Enough" "No Words" "Old Siam, Sir" "Hot As Sun" "Spin It On"
Just wondering, why were the Back to the Egg songs unexpected for you? that was his most recent album at the time, and in those days he was doing far less Beatles songs in his sets. Hearing Getting Closer, Old Siam Sir and Spin it On didn't surprise me at all. Frankly I was expecting So Glad to See You Here and disappointed when I didnt get to hear that one.
not unexpected for ME, I lived it. I just wanted to point out what he has done in the past. someone wanted to know if he had done Old Siam Sir, so I decided just to throw out the songs he has not done in the recent past.

Ah, I see, yes. I lived it as well.

Out of all of them, the most surprised I was, was when I was standing in a crowd in Kiev and Mrs Vandebilt came on, I never jumped so high in my life...and that stayed that way until he shocked us all with Ram on in Cardiff. I couldnt even speak when he did that
...We did believed he could do it!....And I was surprised to have heard "Hippy Hippy Shake"!

When I saw him in 2002 he did C'Moon and I'm not sure if he's done that one before. Mull of Kintyre to my knowledge seems to be a standard in Toronto and no were else in North America.

He did it at soundchecks on the '89/'90 tour. There's a great "C Moon" soundcheck B-side on one of the Tripping... CD-singles. Better than the 2002 live performances, actually.

Yeah, that C Moon soundcheck track actually appeared on at least a couple of Tripping related singles. In fact, if I recall correctly, the singles of All My Trials and the live version of The Long and Winding Road both had the same two b-sides (C Moon and Mull)...I can check that when I get home from work since I do have those Btw, another surprise from a couple of years ago (as a 'one off' performance) was that song 'Liverpool' that he played in (as you guessed) Liverpool
-
Oops - I just checked...you already list In Liverpool

Soily or sorry.

At some point (I think the 2004 European Tour or the 2005 US Tour???) Paul and band did an impromptu version of Yellow Submarine...it was a tongue in cheek response to folks asking why he did tributes to John and George but not Ringo.
-
I love all the participation, but please be sure to refer to the list, as it has been updated a few times.

you haven't added "She's Leaving Home" from 2002....
-
Did you have "Want to Come Home" on this list? I LOVE this song
I can't wait til we get to hear Is This Love too... hope those rumours are true!!! I really really hope that Paul does play more songs off Electric Arguments... Here's a Hippy Hippy Shake vid -

Hmmmm... It was definitely a nice addition to the setlist, but I'm not super-duper-uber sure that it was "totally" unexpected, considering that "Getting Better" had been in the setlist in 2002. Paul was in a Sgt. Pepper frame of mind already. That's a tough one, thenightfish. I'll see what the hoi polloi say.
