Kapoo! Baby's request if so cute!

BenyPL:
Your original is great too, I like it, but it needs better production, that would be very improved.
..story of my musical life.. I'm an indie-alternative kind of artist at heart. Thanks Oobu, I still get a kick out of watching that one every once and a while I like the kids participation factor!

Based on our weekend's correspondence, I respectfully beg to differ. You're quite the task-master when you wanna be, ol' friend.

yeah I can get a little detail crazy if I think there's a realistic shot at acheiving something. The one we're doing you are adding an element of kickass that wasn't there before, that I knew should have been there, and I probably got a little over excited that songs gonna kickarse. already does. but back to Beny. You're covers are great, I'm sold. I want you to write something where you show off your talents, thats what you should be striving for if you ask me. But I like you, you're good. There's a little thought I had where I think your covers of these songs might sound a lot like the ones Paul's current guitarist Rusty Anderson might do, if he were to do covers of them alone. original yet true to form, with solid strong guitar accents, and leading a bit with the guitar. but I'm definitely pontificating at this point btw BenyPL, not to clog up your thread with my own shit, but here's one thats better produced that I wrote called Love Time, and still production could be better. but whatchu think >
and here's more of a rocker I'm working on in a studio, quality produced but its only about half done, wanna layer guitar things, called Oh I > -
Hi, as I said earlier I have many of musical ideas, and sooner or later, I'll start of record it. Recording covers is only training, exercises, and fun of crouse About Rusty Anderson - I did not understand everything you wrote (my english is poor) but I don't care too much about him and the current Paul's live band and not really like them (the drummer really irritates me...), but that is by the way. I like your "Love Time", nice song, at the beginning I can hear a little bit "Goodnight tonight" When I have free time I'll listen other your songs, because I seen much of it on youtube, you're hard-working artist

Thanks and good call on the Love Time / Goodnight Tonight similarity. Jason Mraz's song Sleep All Day is also basically exactly the same music but its a pretty basic 4 chord jazz progression, probably been used in 100's of songs.. I'm not really that hardworking as it seems. I'm 35 and been writing tunes since I was about 15, so they've just added up. I really enjoy it, but inspiration comes and goes. basically the way it works these days is if I have a really strong feeling about something, be it really happy, or really depressed, I'll end up writing a song. or in the case of recently on this forum where a few of us were quazi challenging eachother with ideas, that inspired a little writing spurt out of me too. Music's been a good outlet for me. Paul's music's been a particularly great outlet. Him and all the great songwriters out there. Look forward to hearing more from you, post whatever you do, will ya? peace!

He he Kapoo - that looks familiar (Baby's Request)! Like your originals too - they are much better and accomplished than you sort of suggest! Well, if BenyPL doesn't mind, I'll add one of my own. A version of the Traveling Wilburys' 'Handle With Care', recorded a couple of years ago - while the baby was FINALLY asleep. Hence an 'all-new' arrangement (and a tired singer):
I record at home all the time - but I don't have the patience to prepare any arrangements in advance let alone play fault-free. I just wander through the musical landscape and try to surprise myself -

Getting there, thanks Ymaginatif! Great version of Handle with Care you just shared, very easy on the ears. Pretty clean guitar playing my friend, good stuff. It's a pretty set of chords. Over to you Beny!

Hi guys, at last I record my version of "On The Way" ("McCartney II"), that was in my head almost a year. As always I attempted to small changes

Nice version! I particularly like the sound of your singing on this one. If you'd push this one a bit further (some synths perhaps?) you could make this sound quite Pink Floyd like! By the way - one of my favourite McCartney tracks this is!
-
Thanks! I think that synths doesn't suitable in this song, anyway I don't want to sound like PF, I meant rather to maintain some weird mood of this song It's one of the best for me too, like all McCarntey II. Who knows, maybe one day I will record my own version of all this album?

I've always like that song, McCartney II is a really good album IMO. You're guitar work it really tight, well done. You get a lot of the subtle guitar things Paul does, shows you really know the song well! You've done somethings to change the sound a little bit, yours is a little less 'dry' sounding, which I actually like. another good cover man! You're a talented multi-instrumentalist, as we have a few others on this board as well. I'm basically just a guitar player so I really respect that capabilitiy to do all different instruments. I like to think I could have been a good drummer, but alas, never learned
-
Thank you Kapoo, I'm glad that you like it I play a little drums, often during time breaks at rehearsals of bands where I play on bass I like to sit and learn play on drums of my drummer and I really like it. Here I use programmed software drums, because recording the drums is difficult and of crouse it need to have them...

And this is not my first idea for song, but my first recorded original, instrumental called "Dawn Flower":
Who can guess, which song of Paul Mccartney has inspired me? -

Who can guess, which song of Paul Mccartney has inspired me?Nice Beny! Honestly no clue about your question, what Paul song influenced you??? I'd guess by sound of the chords either Warm and Beautiful, or the Note You Never Wrote, but both are still very different from yours. What song was it that inspired Dawn Flower, I'm obviously curious You should add some words. Honestly, and I know way too much about Harry Nilsson admittedly, but your piece is really reminiscent of his very late period home demo experiments with swelling synthesizers. He would make a lot of doodles like that and come up with little simplistic melodies about his kids and things over them.
-
Thanks Kapoo I was inspired by "Summer's Day Song" from "McCartney II". Not by melody or chords progression but by sound and mood. I have ideas for "normal" songs with vocals but first I want to record some instrumentals. I don't know about Harry Nilsson but I'll listen to his music.
-
Love the harmonies and the slightly altered arrangement. Took me a sec to adjust to the different key, but mid-way through I "got it."
-
Yes, the middle part is going to different key and and after this I could continue to play main riff in new key but however I decided return to old one. Thank you for your feedback audi.
-
Oh man, now that you guys have said it its totally Summers Day Song. That's almost embarrassing on my part and I call myself a Macca fan
-
Haha, come on kapoo, a collection of Paul's songs is so big!
