Take part in a book about Paul!---interview request :)
-
Hi all, Some of you already know that I'm working on a book about Paul McCartney's fans and their stories about Paul, the Beatles, his/their concerts, etc., as I've approached some folks I have known for a while on the board to be interviewed. Now that I've gotten through the 60 or so interviews of folks here and on Facebook and compiled over 110 single-spaced pages of interview responses (
), I'm looking to open up the interviews to more folks who might be interested in being in a book that will obviously be a best seller because it's about Paul and hey, I'm writing it.
Here are the particulars: I'm basing the main story of the book around all of the crazy, kooky, and wonderful things I've experienced while embarking on marathon drives to and from Paul shows, being in big cities I've never been in before because of those shows, and the awesome and fun people I've met at the shows, and of course about the shows themselves. The plan is to include other fans' stories, fans who are new to the Beatles and Paul, casual fans, and fans who have been with Paul/the Beatles since the '50's and 60's who have logged over a 100 shows, so basically any and all folks, as all stories are important and welcome. I've had a great time interviewing fans as young as 10 and as old as, well, not 10.
I've also gotten a chance to talk to fans all over the world, so that's been a blast, too.
The other fans' stories are going to help me explore the theme running through the book: Paul and the Beatles have and continue to impact society and culture, even 50 years after they hit it big. Not many (any?) other bands or folks can claim the same. How is it that they latched onto the public in such a way? Here's where you come in! I'm looking to get as many stories from folks as I can, even if you yourself may not find your own story that interesting (which most folks don't, even though I'm wowed and amazed at the tales folks have been gracious enough to share!). Even if you've not been to a show yourself, I'd still like to hear how you first got into Paul/the Beatles, etc. If you're interested, please send me a PM, and I will send you the questions either here or through an e-mail that you would prefer to use. There are about 14 questions, so be prepared to do some typing.
I'm not in a major rush to get the interviews back, though, so even if you don't have time right now, I'll happily take the responses when you are able to get to them. Thanks!

Thanks to the folks who have been in touch so far--there's a special place in my heart (and book) for you.

Hi all, I'm putting together a book blog with videos and photos I've taken of Paul over the years, and updates on the book. I'll post the link when the blog is up and running.

http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com Here is the link to the Paul McCartney Fanthology book blog.
Stop on by and check out the beginnings of my work on the book. I'll be in full-on mode once I've finished a ghost writing project which I'll fill you all in on when that book is getting ready to be published--it's Beatle-related, so hopefully there'll be some interest on the forum.

Good luck with this project, can't wait for the finished result!
