Paul, Come To Australia

I got A4 row K - I did get E up but thought 5 rows back might be too close to the stage looking up and also the angle across to Paul. Row K is probably far enough back (11 rows) so I won't have to look up so much but still pretty close... what do people think?
I'm not sure it will be that close. Remember that the stage is further away from the first row now than it used to be. When getting my tickets, I had the choice between Row C, Seat 20 and Row D, Seat 17. I probably made the right choice but there's nothing I can do about it now.

Section A4, RowE. Totally easy. Stoked!!!!!!
Awesome!
Cant believe it!!!! Might go for a cheap seat to show 2, but will have to set the alarm as I'll be in Jakarta!

The seating plan seems to show the stage going right up to where row A starts, the plan seems a really detailed one too with measurements etc. So A might well be right near so K won't be that far away?

I'm tossing up whether to do that too.

Not that I'm aware of, just hoping/wishful thinking on my part!

I've been agonising over whether I should go Diamond or Platinum the last week. Got my tickets at the pre-sale for Melbourne. I was tossing up between Diamond and Platinum, I personally believe I got the best bargain for the price I paid. I ended up with a Platinum seat in A1, Row K. Keeping in mind, it took me ten minutes of refusing tickets and then re-entering into the sale because earlier attempts would always see me in C1 or C5. I did, at one point when selecting Diamond, obtain A3 but it was Row X. After a mental calculation of finances (i'm doing post-grad study at the moment) along with the fact that I wasn't that far from the stage AND closer to A2 judging by my seat number, I really couldn't have asked for a better seat at that price point. I've been waiting for this gig for a very long time. Had the timing been a bit better, I would have gone Diamond, but I had to swallow some humble flaming pie. But, not a bad way to go. This is my last ever gig. After this, i've seen everything I want to see. SO EXCITED!

First post here, but wanted to share in the excitement of getting tickets to the Sydney show! Congrats to everyone else who got tickets. Any of you doing the sound check for Sydney? Looks like most of the comments so far are from other cities.

Congratulations to everyone who got tickets! : It's so exciting to see that confirmation page that says you have tickets to SEE PAUL! So happy for you all.

I can't understand why there were no seats as I got straight through. the only thing I can think of I was trying for three tickets. Everyone else seems to have got them easily. Would it also be that I'm in SA? (yes I did allow for the time difference. ) When I try on Thursday does anyone know if you can access the site with the code before the sale starts? Cheers Chrissie

Ugh. That was one of the most frustrating and infuriating experiences of my life. Like many here, no doubt, I was all set for the Melbourne Macca concert of 2002. Then waited about 15 years!! Checked this message board... (Paul, please come to Australia!) weekly for the last ten years! Or more... Got the GREAT news last week! Waited patiently for the Tuesday pre-sale. Jumped on my pooter 30 mins before GO time...! Long story short - (ish) being prudent, I thought, I was on Ticketek`s site early. So I`d be ready. Then...Just as the tickets went LIVE...I selected the Melbourne show and the date...and I was just about to key in my pre-sale password........! when wretched webpage Kicked Me Off!! Ahhhhhhhhhh So by the time I Got Back.... I could only secure Diamond in the side section, the "8" area. Ugh. I wish I`d known 24 hrs ago that (for me anyway) the really KEY piece of info was "Don`t be on the ticket buying website too soon - coz the #%^@ timer will start and you`ll get booted!!" 15 years of waiting ,undone by a damn timing system, when I was seconds away... Anyhoo - assuming there will be a 2nd Melbourne Show, can we expect pre-sales again? I`d love to Get This Right Btw how did so many of you approach the ticket-buying so successfully? You were obviously more cognisant of the timer than I was. Well Done!! Enjoy the Show(s) I`m sure Paul will be fantastic!!!

That's exactly what I did. I loaded up the page in two browsers as one sometimes carks it and I wanted to have a backup in the minutes before 5PM. Now, normally when buying tickets on these kinds of websites, each time you advance a step in the booking process, it adds a couple of minutes to the timer. Nope. It was a mad dash when I got to the credit card screen only to realise that I had 60 seconds to go and my wallet was in my bag in the other room. A scramble ensued and I managed to type in all the data with my hands shaking and my dog looking at me like I was mental.

Yikes!! That was a close one, W.D. - I can well imagine you`d have the shaking hands in that situation! I`m sure I would have too. I think I was shaking as it was! Well done for successfully beating the clock, against the odds. Wish we`d known about this timing business in advance...I can only hope there will be a show 2. Cheers!

He almost let slip that there would be in the Tim Minchin interview. He started with 'There's a thing I do with my promoter where we release the first show and then if they phone me and say "Hey, it sold out in 24 hours!"' and then you see him stumble a bit as he realises he's about to give the game away so he changes it to the story about him not being sure he's still got it. I mean, to be fair, we all know he releases a first night and then does a second if the first one sells well.

The "thousands of Pauls fans are online right now" screen saying you're in the queue i went through quite a bit before 5pm, if thats what you're asking. From there it was possible to select show and view prices before 5. I would keep doing this, then going back a step on my browser to keep it fresh.

Unless they've changed it, but a couple of days ago it was up on slotix.com - find the Paul McCartney page, and scroll through the dates. A friend showed it to me, and when I checked, sure enough there it was!
