macca should not go to australia, and i think he shouldn´t go to britain either,he only should go to the country that love him, with this album,so really good,he only should go to the countrys that buy the album:France number 3,Italy number 3,Sweden number 3, Germany number 4 ,Canada 5,Denmark number 5,USA number 6,HOLLAND NUMBER 8,Norway number 8 and Spain number 9....only that way he shows respect for his new woderful new work and for the people who really loves him the people who buys his records,i understand that and stick by this ,see i am from Portugal, here he only sell 3 copies of the album (the ones that i buy) how can i expect that he come here? i even don´t want that because maybe the concert probably was a failure like was his concert here in 2004 ,100.000 tickets and he only sells 46.500 oficially and was such a good show,Paul see the charts and go only to the countrys that really love you! made 3 legs of Usa,is better you Know!
-
to be honest only 5% of people who go to his concerts would buy his new album.. the rest are Beatle fans who wanna see 'Paul McCartney' the Beatle.. so album sales are quite irelevant! PAUL IN OZ!

I'm new here and dont know much about the forum but i was wondering whether there has ever been any talk about Paul coming to Australia for a tour? Has he ever been apart from when he was with the Beatles?
-
We Aussies have certainly made ourselves heard in regards to hoping he tours in Australia, many of us were set on his 2002 leg which he aborted, sadly. He opened his 1993 tour here in Perth and had been here with Wings in 1975. Not sure if he came here in 1990? I hope he tours here before he winds down his large scale touring and 2002 would have been great for us to get Paul in good voice.

Not here in 89/90. He got to Japan then and there was talk he'd come here but passed us over. After the tour he promised to start the next world tour in Australia...and he was true to his word. Yes the cancellation of Telstra Dome 2002 robbed us of the chance to hear him in peak form. That made the cancellation even harder to stomach...

Hey all!! Hope all is good with ya!! Gotta try and buy the album tomorrow. Been broke

Hi Chris, great to hear from you!! You will appreciate the album as a musician. A tip. Don't judge this album from the first listen. It is a lot deeper than anything Paul has ever released before and needs a couple of listens to appreciate the depth of lyrics and musical ability. It is not a commercial album in the least. I absolutely love it, in my opinion, it is his best work ever. Interested to hear your opinion. PAUL IN OZ AND NZ Cheers Chrissie

Sounding great to me Chrissie!! I usually prefer albums that are like that I think, in that you need to grow into them = much more interesting that way!!
-
I think you will find this one very interesting. When you do hear it, let me know what you think about Anyway. I get tears (I know that sounds weird) everytime I hear it. I am not sure whether it is the words or Paul's voice that does it, but I find it incredibly beautiful. I just love English Tea as well, very tongue in cheek. PAUL IN OZ AND NZ Cheers Chrissie

All this talk of set lists and moaning and groaning about what he is and isn't playing is really starting to p*ss me off. There are places in the world (and Australia is one of them) that are clamouring for Paul to just visit, let alone play some gigs. That whole 2002 fiasco still burns in me. Overpriced tickets, undersold show, cancellation "out of respect for our victims of the Bali bombing". Glad to see he rescheduled the cancelled gig.........not!!! I guess the Oz market just isn't worth bothering about. At the end of the day, Paul will tour where and when he pleases and play the songs he wants, all of which is his right to do. No argument really. Last rumour I heard/read was a tour in February/March next year. If that is to eventuate, we'll probably hear official word on it in the next 6-8 weeks. From memory, tickets for his Australian shows in March 1993 went on sale in December 92. Didn't someone in a set list post suggest he add "You Won't See Me" to his current shows? For some places, I reckon he already has!

And of course, was there a cancellation of the Madrid show ("out of respect for the victims" ) after the train bombings there in 2004 ? Of course not - too much loot to be made....

Does anyone think he'll be put off again coz of the Bali bombings again? hope not... PAUL IN OZ AND NZ!!!!!

Welcome to our thread, graystokes. I'm from Adelaide too, as you can probably see. A few of us have kept this thread going for over three years so it is great to get some more Aussies on here. We will all just have to hope our persistence pays off and, if Paul reads these threads, he will see we are just as keen to see him in Australia as the Yanks are having him tour FOUR times in recent years. Have you ever seen him in concert? I saw him in 1993, AWESOME!!!!! PAUL IN OZ AND NZ (SOMETIME SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!) ps. Don't take any notice of the date I joined, I was under another name previously. Cheers Chrissie
