I actually first joined this site soon after Paul cancelled his Melbourne concert but was a bit depressed cause there was someone on this forum saying 'he will never tour Australia' and that he couldn't say how he knew but he had very good sources close to Paul etc etc etc. I was never upset with Paul cancelling( although I did lose some money from it - like airline tickets, accommodation etc) but I couldn't stand hearing some jerk saying he was never going to tour Australia. So I felt the time was right to join up again and see what happens. So Please Paul come to Australia. It would make me and other Aussies very very very happy.
I heard a story that as Paul had just done the New York thing after 9/11, that he was a 'terorist target, and he was advised to cancel this tour.

Hi Mark and welcome to another Adelaidian!!!! I saw Paul in '93 too. Eleven rows from the front but my husband always teases me because I cannot, for the life of me, remember much about the concert!!! I think I was just awe struck to be in the presence of the Great Man!!! I remember Biker like an Icon and Live and Let Die, but other than that ..........Apparently, he was only a few feet away when the band swung out on the platform, but I can't remember that either!! ops: I hope to get to the Beatles Festival this year. Missed last year because we were away. Anyway, welcom again. PAUL IN OZ (ANYTIME SOON!!!!) Cheers Chrissie

Welcome Mark / Hey Chrissie!! Where'd ya hear that about the terrorist target thing can I ask??

Hi Guys, is there a website on the net to get info about this Beatles Festival, I can't seem to find anything except old info on past festivals. Is the festival pretty good??? Thank you
-
Teresa Scarcella [artmerch@chariot.net.au] This is the link to the person promoting The Beatles Festival
-
I have also emailed Teresa letting her know and suggesting that she use this and other Beatleish type forums to promote The Beatles Festival and the Cavern Club in Adelaide.
-
Thanks Mark for the info. I will contact her for details about the festival.

That was a furphy, a beat up. The "tour" was only ever going to be 2 Melbourne Telstra Dome concerts. It was cancelled after they could fill the first show...

Sorry, I meant to say it was cancelled after they COULD NOT sell out even the first concert.

As much as I love hearing all the Paul stuff thats going on on the other side of the world eg secret concerts, launch parties etc I can't help feeling a bit sad that I'm so far away from it all. So Paul, please do us a special favour and include Australia on your next tour.
-
Get back to the Long and winding road. Come to Aussie soon!
-
Without trying to sound too dramatic, I just spent 6 days in hospital and was suppose to go to a concert on the day I fell ill. A few of my friends were sad that I couldn't make the concert but I said if it had been Paul McCartney I was seeing I wouldn've went and then gone to hospital, and thats the truth. So Paul thats the way I feel about you coming to Australia. So please come to our glorious country.
-
GEEZ - You ok Cassandra?? Enough is definitely enough re Paul touring Aus. It's gotta happen on this album.
-
Hi Everyone, Have you heard the new album? I think it is awesome, Paul's voice is so strong. As is the usual in Australia, it is not getting too much air play. What is wrong with Australia's media!!!!!!! The album is strong and quite poignent in parts, a whole lot better than most of the crap being played. I just listen to the cd, (full volume of course!) and don't bother with the radio. Oh well, can't help some people's taste, their loss!!!!! PAUL PLEASE TOUR AUSTRALIA Cheers Chrissie

Yeah I'm fine now, was just one of those bad viruses that are around at the moment. That serves me right for telling people I never get sick and I don't need the flu vacc.
