That now makes McCartney the sole holdout and the standalone act to wear the "non Australia appearing" crown. How about U2? Do they play Australia? They played New Mexico in 1987 and never came back. Paul played New Mexico in 1993 and never came back. I'm starting to get a complex here!!

U2 have been here about 6 or 7 tours since 84, most recently 2010.

No tour dates announced as yet.....maybe he is saving up for the Australian summer. What am I saying, of course he isnt.

Dear Paul, Thank you for your note. There is no change in the position to tour Australia. But rest assured we will keep working on this to hopefully make it possible one day. It has now been well over 20 years since Paul graced us with his presence. Like many other fans, I'm still perplexed about the 'postponed' 2002 shows. Postponed. For 13 years. And counting. This of course would be understandable, somewhat, if Paul didn't perform concerts since that time. But, he has managed to visit every other major touring market in the world- many more than once. I do not understand the continued neglect. Is it just about money? Is it some personal grudge? The patient, loyal Australian fans deserve more than this. To put things in perspective, the Rolling Stones (surely Paul's only serious rival, touring wise) have toured Australia FOUR times since Paul was last here (1995, 2003, 2006, 2014). Even in 2014, when Mick Jagger's girlfriend died under tragic circumstances, the Stones postponed- and made up the dates, unlike Paul!! Within weeks of the death, rescheduled dates were announced. Then, when they came back Jagger made a point of apologising at each and every show for the disruption the postponement caused fans, and thanked all for their patience (which is something he definitely didn't need to do). Australians have enthusiastically supported many major acts who have toured downunder in recent years (U2, Eagles, Springsteen, Foo Fighters, The Who, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake, Fleetwood Mac and countless others). We even got a Ringo solo tour- something I never thought we would see. It's frankly absurd that he hasn't come down here. I'm happy for the rest of the fans in other countries who get to see him- I really am. I just wish we would get our long overdue turn. Meanwhile, when is he touring South America again?
