Actually they did rehearse then.
And who can forget this? -
He did do a soundcheck back in '08, on the afternoon of the show. I remember he played "Matchbox" among many others. We could hear pretty good waiting to get in. My wife & I got into Quebec this afternoon. Our hotel room overlooks the site actually. After dinner we took a walk right up to near the stage. The crew were busy setting up the lights and trying out the big screens. The stage is HUGE! I don't think the band is in town yet. Soundcheck will likely be tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty sure we won't be able to get anywhere near where we were tonight. There were stacks of portable fences or barriers that will probably be set up overnight. It's a beautiful evening in Quebec tonight. Hopefully the weather tomorrow won't be too wet. The forecast went from 90% chance of rain a few days ago to 40% yesterday to 60% today. Cheers!

Ooh, I'm leaving soon for Quebec City from Montreal. Getting excited. But it's raining here in Montreal. I'm assuming that it is as well in Quebec city? Are many of you there already. It's about a 2-3 hour drive from Montreal, but the hotel is only for after 3:30 check-in and I had to work yesterday. So MontrealPete, you are already there? What is the weather like today?

Hi DawnD, The weather is grey but no rain. Forecast says light showers this afternoon but no rain in the evening. Looks like it will be ok for the concert. We took another walk around the site after breakfast. The stage is very busy now, lots of folks setting up gear. We saw Abe's drum kit being set up. Small groups of people are starting to wait near the entrances to Zones 1 & 2. The barriers in front of the stage (between Zone 1 and the stage) are up. There's a no man's land there of maybe 20-25 feet? The barriers between Zones 2 & 3 are also up. The ones between 1 & 2 are not up completely because of all the activity. I expect the whole site will be closed off in a few hours and soundcheck should be around 4 I'm guessing. Best place to hear the soundcheck would be near the Zone 2 entrance unless they push folks further back. Here's that map of the site again: http://www.3e-evenement.com/3EEvenement/files/58/580a894b-411f-48b7-bc93-fc07180076f6.pdf Local papers say a DJ will warm up the crowd starting at 8pm and Paul should be onstage at 9. I'm looking forward to the whole show but especially hearing "Eight Days a Week" & "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" Hope you have fun DawnD, drive safe! Bonne soirée! Cheers!

Local paper says Paul arrived last night, saw security posted around hotel perimeters. Crowd surge tickets never arrived but customer service very responsive, we were able to pick up wristbands yesterday with no problem. Just watched very interesting show on tv from Ottawa performance/interview. Paul talked about the challenges of playing bass & singing Day Tripper & Mr. Kite.....

And who can forget this?OK, OK, THAT'S NOT a rehearsal at the venue, that's a rehearsal at Sussex many days before the actual show. Paul (sometimes) does rehearsals ONE DAY BEFORE the show, and SOUNDCHECKS, the DAY of the show. Thanks

Yes, that's the SOUNDCHECK, not the rehearsal, in fact, I was at the whole soundcheck that day in 2008 (I've tape it for my own collection as well hehe)

Opened with Honey Don't. Jet is a surprise. Perhaps it will return to setlist.

I was thinking the same thing. Do you know if Penny Lane and Magical Mystery tour are still in the soundcheck? I suspect he may be planning on putting them in the show for Japan.

I have seen both Penny Lane and Magical Mystery Tour at recent soundchecks.

IIRC, the last time Paul played here in July 2008, he added a couple of songs that were last played during the '05 US Tour...."Fine Line" and "Too Many People / She Came In Through The Bathroom Window". I wouldn't be too surprised to see some change in tonights setlist.

Ovation seems rather tepid compared to most crowds.

The crowd is underwhelmed.
