I have tried over and over to change my avatar. I have a picture I would like to use in my laptop. I have cropped it. chopped it. Adjusted width and height. I just don't seem to get it under 20KB. Any help?

Rick, the avatar size limit is Height 155 x Width 125 pixels. 20KB is the limit for animated images. Remotely linked avatars or signature images can be larger up to 200 x 200 pixels but please no more than 100 KB for animated images.

I would assume the same procedure as described above.

I think you go to my account and then edit. (First click on the person to the right of the envelope)  Then as oobu said, follow directions to make sure the avatar is small enough.
