I'm not exactly a fan of KISS, but I consider them to be competent musicians with fairly decent songs. Yet, if they did a tour without any of their signature theatrics, folks would be demanding refunds in every city. Remember: It's called a rockshow.

Yeah, I know. I was seeing KISS in concert when you were in diapers. So, you are putting McCartney in the same league as KISS? Interesting. I always put McCartney's live shows with Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Elton John, people like that. British Rock legends. KISS is amazing at what they do. But they built their whole career on doing just THAT. McCartney doesn't need to spit blood, fly through the air, breath fire, etc. But maybe you think he does. I don't. Wings Over America was probably McCartney's most rocking of shows, and while he did have some stage explosions and lasers (on, like, two songs) he did not need a robot on stage for that to be a ROCK show. He and the band were the show. I think Paul uses staging very tastefully. But I am not the only one here who has questioned the need for SO MANY video screens and effects, or a rising platform at the front of the stage.

How about a robot that picks up LP covers thrown onstage by the fans and then gives them for Paul to sign?

How about no robot, but Paul throws out LP covers already signed by him?? Cheap Trick does that! Problem is, it would create a riot on the floor!

I once asked for his guitar pick and he threw it towards me. Unfortunately a bunch of greedy people stole it before I could get it.

No kidding! People go mad whenever he throws anything at them. And when he does not... they throw LP covers at him!

altho if it is anything like the War Horses, those were actually operated by people inside the framework, so there may well be a robot "handler" that needs all of the above!

You may have a point, after all: Here are two Billy Joel uploads from his current tour. This has his full stage set-up with gigantic LED screens, which is exciting to see: Billy Joel - We Didn't Start The Fire [live @ Manchester Arena 29-10-13]:

And here's Billy Joel at a smaller venue with less stage frills that seems to be an equally exciting concert: Billy Joel - Only The Good Die Young [10-16-13 Paramount Theater]:

I like seeing the lasers, etc. at the shows. However, it makes me very dizzy on the way home... 😉 Paul could have the robot for like, a song, I could see that happening.

                          9/15/17- Madison Square Garden

                          Thank you Paul!

I agree. Who the hell wants to see McCartney on stage with a robot?? Robots on stage...elevated platforms above the audience...lasers...thousands of LED screens...WTF??? Paul, will you please just play your songs on a clean stage with great sound, lights, and screens on the side of the stage?? You don't need this nonsense. You are Paul McCartney! People just want to see and hear you! :

Disagree, he can playing his songs AND having a bit of a visual feast are not mutually exclusive things. I like the LED screens, lasers etc!

Well, then, just go to a circus. A real musician and entertainer doesn't need all that. And Paul is a real musician and entertainer.

What a ridiculous thing to say, why would I go to a circus? In what way does any of that take away from the fact Paul is a real musician and entertainer. He doesn't need it but it adds to the show.

                            You deserved it.

You two are acting like little girls.

I would love to see a clear picture of Paul with the 1979 robot. I have watched the video, but it's hard to see such a small "creature".

I'd be happy with a robot that delivered beers to me periodically through the show.

I would love to see a clear picture of Paul with the 1979 robot. I have watched the video, but it's hard to see such a small "creature".

Unfortunately I don't have any of my own from the gigs that I saw, and there don't seem to be any online that I can find. And there appears to be just that video on YouTube.

He could have the robot sing instead of him. That way no-one could tell if he's using autotune!
