Does That's the Way It Is count as a movie? If so, then that's my favorite.
Yeah, I watched my dvd of that again today...I love it.
Some peope like to argue with me and say that since it's just a concert, it shouldn't count as a movie. I wasn't sure where you stood on it.
What's your favourite part of the concert?
I like when he says white suede shoes trying to throw the band off. I also like when the microphone shocks him during rehearsals.

I like the place where he's singing That's allright Mama in rehearsals and the microphone looks like it's melting. Another one is where he changes a word in Love Me and sings Darling I'll be ol so you remember that?

That's another awesome part. That's the Way It Is just has too many good parts to think of them all at once. No wonder I watch it at least once a week. In fact, it's in my vcr right now. I think the part with the impersonators is quite funny. It's amazing to think there were impersonators that long before he even died!

It just proves how popular he was and still is....you know he's still alive don't ya? :

I actually believed that he was alive for a good long time. I've even got some of Jimmy Ellis's stuff. I can hear why there was speculation. Who knows, though? He could be alive. It'd be nice to actually get to go to a concert. Just wishful thinking, though.

Only to go see a concert if he is alive? I'd hate the thought of it the other way around I don't fancy the Elvis concert they are moving around at the moment...Him on a giant video screen...Seems like a waste of money.
-
I also think that it's a waste of money. I'm an hour from Memphis, and it's irritating to have to listen to the hype around this every year. :

Have you ever been to Graceland?
-
Favorite Elvis Movie(s)? Loving You, King Creole, Jailhouse Rock I got to see Elvis in concert in Philly about six or seven weeks before he died. Yes, he was fat, but DAMN that boy could still sing!!!!

I've never been to Graceland. I've never really seen the big deal about it. I mean it's just his house. It'd be different if the man were there. That, and I'm not sure how he'd react to all these fans just walking through his house. I know I wouldn't want anyone going through my house once I'm dead. I guess I'm just weird.

Hi Lyn, Great choices for your favourite movies....You lucky thing, seeing him in concert...That must have been one of the last concerts. I've seen footage of his last concert and it's unbelieve that he could still sing like that.

I saw Elvis when I was little, I remember looking through binoculars at him and cried all over em and got fussed at for leaving them wet One thing I remember real well is that he sounded the same in person as he did on his albums and movies.

Yep, I love that version of Are You Lonesome Tonight

Ahh, yes, I LOVE that version! "And now I'm sitting there... without any hair." One thing Elvis was brilliant at was just coming up with stuff right on the spot, on stage. Like during one concert (I'm thinking it was Madison Square Garden, '72, or '73), he was singing "Suspicious Minds," and he said "I've never lied to you.... oh... no, not much." He just used to come up with some stuff, on the spot, that would just crack me up.
