Elvis Presley

Well...that would be one approach.
I have another one but it was too violent for the uptight, politically correct moderators of this forum

I've heard that Elvis had his reservations about some of The Beatles' influence, but to suggest that Elvis wanted to physically assault John Lennon is absurd. Elvis was a patriot, very pro-USA, but even HE was privately opposed to the Vietnam War. So, that dismantles the whole point of that picture above.
-
The only evidence about Elvis vs Beatles is the letter he wrote to Nixon to get his narcotics badge. He doesn't even mention The Beatles by name in it and he would have said anything to get the stupid badge, he was like a child obsessed to get a toy.

You are belaboring the hell out of this, Ollie. Different singers use different phrasing tactics. Sometimes, that might mean deleting/adding another word to suit how the singer prefers to sing it. So, in other words, do what you want to do -- just keep it "in the pocket."
belaboring the hell out of this... as usual I feel like some word is gonna be deleted.

"belaboring" That's a new one for me. You fancy English speaking people.

New one for me too but it's true, I'm always thinking that I'm worse than I am, in every way. I even sort of think I'm shorter than I am. Like "he/she is taller than me" then I check somehow and I'm taller... Audi is right, as usual. Now let's go back to Elvis. Like... How tall was Elvis really? He seemed tall but he used kind of high heels. And then there's the haircut.
-
If memory serves, he was just shy of 6ft. tall, however, he did use "lifts" in his shoes to make him appear even taller.

A lil' high-energy "Tiger Man" to get yer day jumpin':

Keep your eye on Elvis' right hand during James Burton's guitar-solo.

I watched Follow That Dream (again) this weekend. Definitely the funniest Elvis movie of 'em all. Hands-down. My favorite scenes...enjoy!

"Tickle me" is funnier, mate!

No way! Tickle Me is definitely a guilty pleasure for me -- and the part when "Pam" unintentionally hits Elvis on the head with the lamp while Elvis is trying to save her from an intruder definitely cracks me up... ...but it is second-rate comedy at best. In Follow That Dream, watch the whole segment when Elvis -- clueless that he's fighting the mob -- inadvertently runs 'em out of town. Hilarious!
-
But my point is that "Tickle Me" has a charm and light-heartedness to it (not sure if that word exists, by the way) while Follow That Dream gets kinda dull for me at times. I enjoy a lot more movies like "Wild in the country" or "Change of habit".

Have you seen this guy? What do you think? I think he's not "as good as" but he's close

Well, that's a separate point. You said earlier that Tickle Me is funnier -- and that's quite debatable. And Follow That Dream...dull??????

I've seen better.

Me, too. BTW: Are you guys familiar with Shawn Klush? He's a world-known ETA. He's the most spot-on ETA out there (although Doug Church sounds more like Elvis than ELVIS sometimes!). I hear from some fans, though, that the Elvis mentality has really gone to his head...he's starting to believe that he IS Elvis now.

Yes. Maybe it is the fact that it has very few songs in it.

Big Elvis in Las Vegas (was at Bills Gambling hall but now in Harrah's) is my favourite ETA. If you're ever there go see the show. It's free and fun. Seen him about 5 times now.
