A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com
-
I was read we will get a free download of "Live Kisses". but that's like taking away a kids Halloween candy and giving him an apple. If we get more compensation, I will be pleased. Like maybe another exclusive poster or a hand signed autograph that we would pay $100 USD for. John Cleese recently signed 1,000 Autographs and sold them for 40.00 GBP each.. And I know that John Cleese's celebrity level is a Legend and Paul's celebrity level is more like God, it would be going to all the right people. I would pay a $100 USD for a Paul autograph that was meant for his devoted fans. Heck, i'll even pay for the shipping.

think that there should be no premium membership or is should be real cheap to be fair to all fans... hard time right now... and seem to never get any special stuff as a premium member.. Love you Paul

A big 'thank you from paulmccartney.com", more like a big "**** you"...!! Ah, the excitement of the new site a year ago - watching the promo videos of all the work with HP - lots of exciting content promised - would be building up - expectations of seeing rare photos, seeing rare videos, hearing rare songs, whole collection being digitized so loads of stuff to share with the fans... I happily paid the premium membership - and quickly - as I wanted to be a pioneer member - a lifetime title apparently - got my pack of unimpressive t-shirt, choice of free download of albums I already had (being a fan I have them!!!), promise of extended membership without extra charge as the site was in beta.
A very well put post on this very important tread. I agree. If MPL reads any post, it should be yous. Before the change, they were trying to give the fans the most personal connection to paul's fans who have devotion like no other. now, it's just fancy news report. There are 1,000 Pioneer Members. So just make it so that the first 2,527 members get an autograph. Because then I would get one. seriously though, we deserve more than a download. And because someone is a Pioneer member, it doesn't make them more devoted than a regular premium member. It's not the least he could do, but I know Paul cares and appreciate his fan's devotion.

my thoughts: obviously,.. nobody gives a shit about the fans and just the $$$ you spend on the site, & tix sales- and what you buy at the gigs,,, how much money can you squeeze outta the majority of us working class till their pockets are empty? perhaps, they didn't have enuff members for the cost & decided to scrap the whole thing? makes one feel shitty, almost taken advantage of?.. obviously, loyalty, and us diehards. really, .. don't matter -it's all about the mighty dollar?!!! Paul, himself, doesn't even frequent his own webby ops: ops: what a scam what a shame!!!~ on so many levels... yep, loyalty & love for an artist don't mean a thing.. just my feelings right now~

Hey...thanks for getting rid of all the premium features...you could have kept the fan pages friends section ect....i liked the streaming music since I don't use the services Paul's music is now going to be on...I only had my membership for 4 months..so yeah i'm feeling ripped big time...all the reasons I ever came to Paulmccartney.com are now gone....if you're getting rid of premium thats one thing..but to get rid of everything that was good about it?? How is that an improvement? I don't live on these stupid boards and post...I have a life...i like to see what's new checkin on the special stuff that was special for the premium folk....say hey to friends fav things on the site....all that gone..all the great timeline of pics an vids and such through the years..thats gone or so i've seen..honestly couldnt stand to be on the site that long. And sending me a download of live kisses..that i've seen on itunes and on pbs...doesnt cut it Paul...sorry..I don't want stuff I've seen already..really i'm a fan but you're really losing me lately...so so dissapointed...and if you knew you werent keeping the service....thanks so much for taking my money for a year subscription..and everyone else that got ripped like me... I recently saw a interview with James discussing...his music career and how he hoped for success like his father..I know he has the talent..and when he gets the success I hope he keeps his graciousness and reserve that he seems to have inherited from Linda. oh and James just relaunched his site..it's already better than what this has become....a fancy website that really offers nothing and a crap messageborard....and those of you who feel the need to reply and tell me off please don't waste your time...I became a Paul McCartney fan because of his son James not the other way around....I was and am a beatles fan always will be..but I never even thought of buying any of Pauls solo work until I heard James play on flaming Pie...then I bought that album...and loved the rest of the music..but still had I not heard James play guitar..I really wouldn't have given the album much of a listen at all. So there it is...I've said my peace. : Do yourself a favor..Shell out $20 and go see James Live..he at least meets his fans after his shows..and those of us who are true fans he's even warmed up to ....why would I spend hundreds to maybe see a glimpse of Paul..on a screen...When James is just as talented if not more...and after a more intimate show says thanks and at least shakes your hand. I realize Paul cant do this anymore...but I'm just saying I rather support a musician who really seems to care I'm a fan when I'm next so him in person. Stay real James!! That's rock n roll..not this zoo.

-
I refused to pay for a membership. I have already paid OUTRAGEOUS sums for concert tickets, t-shirts and souvenirs.

at this point I won't be paying or playing for anything Paul..especially a autograph he really doesn't give a crap about when signing....and how is that any better than the losers who sell them on ebay..just cutting out the middleman is all...LOL.

I was not a maccaboard member until i was told to join here and share my feedback..I was only a premium member on pmc.com Like I said...I am not a messageboard junkie..I always just replied to things just on the site never on here...they were actually two separate places before now. I didn't even know what maccaboard was before now...sorry my life doesn't revolve around all things Paul...but does that make my money easier to take?

My name is jessica,i'm a HUGE/GIGANTIC Beatles fan and Paul Mccartney fan as well for quite a long time now.I'm a partially permanently mentally disabled young adult who has a brain injury or brain trauma possibly due to the childhood epilepsy that i had and struggled with for a while as a baby or young child.I also have a long year history of depression and was bullied frequently growing up in the USA.I'm originally latina, speak fluent spanish but prefer english and was born in the country of Argentina and from there..but grew up the majority of my life here in the USA.Well....anyway....i would really like to reach paul or get through to paul or his representatives somehow for a special request or fan message but i'm having an extremely tough time in doing so.I was wondering could the website include some kind of feature perhaps that would make it easier or less of a hassle to get in touch with Paul somehow? I find this really frustrating.I don't even get any kind of reply/feedback from his contact people or reps.....what the hell!!!!!!!!!! I know paul is famous and really busy most of the time but...geez!!!! Does paul even care about the disabled young adult society..mental or physical??Makes me wonder at times.Thanks. Jessica F.

we all wonder those same questions, well some that you've asked ?

well, if we don't have the premium members site any longer ( bummer! ) at least we have the message board, the heart & soul of this place.. & we still have the mods..
-
I'm not understanding, why the extra features that us premium members were allowed access to, are not longer available! We paid for certain privileges, all of that extra content being one of them. Are you replacing it with even better stuff. I doubt it. So sad right now!!
-
I never felt this was value for money anyway. What about pioneer members? Will we get any special privileges on the new site?

How do you leave messages over there now? You are not signed in? :
To post comments in the Disqus comment box that appears at the bottom of every news item you need to set up as personal profile with Disqus. Start by entering your comment Then log in via any of the social media options - Facebook, Twitter (which is having problems at the moment) or create a new profile directly with Disqus - enter a username (try to match yours here if available) an e-mail address and click "Next" You'll be sent a confirmation e-mail to confirm your e-mail address click that to do so. Then you set a password to your Disqus account. Once your account is created you can then merge/link it to your social media accounts, upload or link to your avatar on social media sites, chose whether you get e-mail notifications of new posts to topics you are following (or not... that was an issue on the old main site) There are extensive options to make the process interactive with the option to extend your comments to facebook or Twitter directly without further fuss. Looks like you can follow Disqus members and have followers as well in the same manner as Twitter - but I haven't checked all that out yet. If it's fully functional as described, seems like a good service. Martin

Anyone who seriously believes that Paul ever comes within a million miles of this forum needs to try to get back to the planet Earth as soon as possible. He doesn't, though it's possible (but not certain) that one of his people might keep an eye on things. If so, they aren't doing their job if they don't pass on how badly all this is going down. For every person who has bothered to complain, you can bet there are many more in the same position who feel the same way. Ripping people off is never a good thing, but ripping off your own core fanbase is unbelievably foolish. How could they still be taking money from people 2 months ago for Premium membership, in the full knowledge that the whole thing was about to be pulled?

More on the Disqus service... I see in any Disqus comment feature to an item you can create a series of quote/replies to each comment. I also see that each comment offers a vote up/vote down option - comments with the most vote ups rise to the head of the comments and appear first. Of course others that might dislike the comment can vote it down again I had Disqus notifications on - and got notified of a reply to my comment - I was able to reply to that from within my e-mail without visiting the site or news item at all. So much more interactive that anything we've ever had before. Takes a bit to get set up and used to what's happening but well worth the effort. Oh and you can definitely Follow users through the Disqus system so it's going to be a suitable (possibly better) replacement for the networking features we've lost from the main site. Martin More! In any Disqus comment feature click on the Community tab at the top and you'll see all the top subjects being discussed - and also a breakdown of the top commenters on the right hand side - you can then visit their Profile page listing all their comments not only on paulmccartney.com but other Disqus forums elsewhere - check it out - getting more interesting every time I explore.....

We have been fucked, big time! The goodies we got when subscribing were already really lame. A download of a record anyone who became a premium member already had and a lousy t-shirt. Members of U2's website get a CD in the mail with rare tracks and outtakes, that's the way you gotta do it! Then the content was really not satisfying and not a lot of interest was added. There were whispers of material that was kept off the deluxe boxsets to be put on the cloud for premium members, but nothing ever happened. Then they gave away premium memberships for free with RAM. Another big fuck you to the loyal fans and members. And now they try to get away with a 'free download'? I could go to any torrent site for an illegal download of exactly the same material. The least they could do was send out a DVD or BlueRay to all premium members that paid an awful lot of money. They would still make a profit on us! It's totally, totally disgusting...
