Avatars - a question from a technophobe

Hello. I would like to upload an avatar into my profile. I now have some nice photos from the Albert Hall gig (Thanks Shaun), but they're all over 20kb in size. Is there a way to make them smaller so I can upload one (I would need totally idiot proof instructions, such as "press this key", "left click the mouse" etc.) Or is there a library of avatars on here where I could upload one from? (I ask this as thisa is the case on a couple of sports forums I am registerd with). HELP! Thankx.

The avatar size limit is Height 155 x Width 125 pixels with a limit of 20 KB for animated images. Remotely linked avatars or signature images can be larger up to 200 x 200 pixels but please no more than 100 KB for animated images.

I came across a small free program called Avatar Sizer that does what is needed to convert any picture to the right size, proportions and file size for use as an avatar. You can read about it, and download (if confident), from here: http://www.avatarsizer.com/ As always when considering using third party programmes such as this, save to your PC and run a full virus check on the installation (.exe) file before installing properly. In most cases to do that, with decent virus protection software installed, right click the installation file and select "perform virus scan" or similar from the menu that appears. Martin

It was there but then it vanished. Board admin are kindly fixing it for me.

We seem to have a raft of image issues today. I'd suggest you don't tinker trying to change or reload your images at the present. Martin
