Queen + Adam Lambert Tour

I'll be sure to come here and let you know how it goes when I see them on Thursday night. I was always a bit unsure about seeing 'semi-Queen' (as I like to call them) because Freddie was the one who really made it what it was, but I still owe it to myself as a big fan to go and see Brian and Roger regardless of any criticism I could think of. I hope they do at least one or two songs that stray away from the greatest hits list. Life is Real was a surprising choice.
If its anything like the 2005 show I went to you'll have a blast, enjoy it

The first part of the show are not greatest hits. Who Wants To Live Forever, 39, 7 seas of Rhye, Dragon Attack, Keep Yourself Alive...

Thanks, Jon! Why couldn't you come this time around? Actually, getting tickets was hectic and difficult. 21st: Of course, yes, but maybe I meant a song or two Queen haven't done live ever before.

Your thoughts, Ollie?

Your thoughts, Ollie?
Well, he's great!. But same old story, as comparing him with nothing less that Freddie Mercury (as a singer of course, forgetting Freddie as creative legend...)... He's got very technical similarities as the highs, not at the rest of notes where he doesn't sound him at all. Of course he doesn't have Freddie's expressivity, feeling... "texture" Adam Lambert says. Few in the whole world have that... if any! He is a great singer. Could do as Freddie's impersonator too. Freddie's legendary, almost one and only expressivity
btw, in the Olympic spirit, and after having watched many gimnastics and similar sports at TV, I'm gonna give points to Paul performance in the Olympics in the Olympics way... (written in this thread it won't be noticed much...) Judge Oliver Sanz from Spain... lol Representing United Kingdom: Paul McCartney, 70 years old, doing a routine called Hey Jude, designed by himself in 1968. Technical Execution the first part is 6 the second part is a 9... 7.5 Artistic Impression 9, could be better only at the start Degree of Difficulty 9.5 (few even try this one without failing...) 7.5 9 9.5 and that's a 8.67 for Sir Paul McCartney in singing -

about Freddie's "texture" here's the most significant example. A song created of extracting just one note of this vocals. He could "grab" one note and shape it in lots of different ways. only 2 seconds, Made In Heaven album

for the delight of we Queen and Adam Lambert fans... 2 full concerts on youtube The June 30th on Kiev, TV broadcast, people sing along but you can hear the band perfectly And London July 12th, people sing every song, more like a concert experience. Adam is more comfortable after doing several shows so he let loose a bit, he moves around almost like his solo concerts or almost as much as Freddie did but not so much. Memorable stuff, sort of like when Elvis meet The Beatles, but this time is recorded. The "impossible appearances" of Freddie on the Queen + Adam show are beyond shocking. Full Show in Kiev 2012
Part 1 of 5 of the London show 2012, you can find the other four parts as links on the right by the way, one of the best Queen concerts ever filmed, full in HD, Montreal 1981 Setlist of the London show, pretty much the same as the Kiev one.... the first part are not mainstream, the second are the hits. The keys of the song are just the same than in the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour, so I want to break free becomes a sweet little song, as sung in D by Adam, but some are terrific: Who Wants To Live Forever, Show must go on... Who Wants To Live Forever, Kiev 2012 -
Queen + AL, Somebody To Love, the first part is not so great (where is George Michael? lol), but the new ending is fantastic 3.40! 4.04!!!!
Ps loooooooooooooo-o-o-o-o-o-oo-o-ooooooooooveeeee -
After the first excitation because of the novelty, now I'm not so impressed by the Queen + Adam Lambert shows. And I'm a fan of both, but it's the same old problem, the standard is so f***** high . The best thing is that you get to hear Queen's songs with all the high notes, so with all the melody. But you miss Freddie expressivity, and how he sang the lower notes. Adam sings with lots of feeling, yet he's not up there to the feeling of Freddie. It shows especially on the bits Adam sings all alone with the people, there's no "on their palm on his hand" feeling at all... just compare 2 vocal improvisations: Adam with Queen in the middle of Another Bites The Dust 2.18 to 3.31
Freddie with Queen, Live At The Bowl a bit like splitting a hair in 2 I recommend playing both vids at the same time, then you get an amazing "Impossible Duet" -
Named best tour of year by Gigwise. Even thought they only did a few concerts. http://www.gigwise.com/news/78491/queen-and-adam-lambert-named-best-live-act-of-2012
