Making rock/pop songs grammatically correct

Nancy R:
Guess what? I was just over on the new site in the Jukebox and pulled up Live and Let Die. The lyrics there say "in which we live in." Sorry guys!
Oh. My. God.

If this ever-changing world in which we live in, Under that blazing Sun under which we live under, Should change so much that we live Outside these grammatical structures outside of which we can choose to operate outside of, Then that could be perfectly all right, Besides the pointless repetition besides which we end up with words beside each other beside which there need be no other words beside.
Hilarious

I was looking at the lyrics to "My Brave Face," which is a gem of a pop-record. I was wondering if there were any glaring grammatical errors: "MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE FACE. I'VE BEEN LIVING IN STYLE, UNACCUSTOMED AS I AM TO THE LUXURY LIFE, I'VE BEEN HITTING THE TOWN AND IT DIDN'T HIT BACK. I'VE BEEN DOING THE ROUNDS, UNACCUSTOMED AS I AM TO THE TIME ON MY HANDS. NOW I DON'T HAVE TO TELL ANYBODY WHEN I'M GONNA GET BACK. EVER SINCE YOU WENT AWAY I'VE HAD THIS SENTIMENTAL INCLINATION NOT TO CHANGE A SINGLE THING. AS I PULL THE SHEETS BACK ON THE BED, I WANT TO GO BURY MY HEAD IN YOUR PILLOW. NOW THAT I'M ALONE AGAIN, I CAN'T STOP BREAKING DOWN AGAIN, THE SIMPLEST THINGS SET ME OFF AGAIN, TAKE ME TO THAT PLACE WHERE I CAN'T FIND MY BRAVE FACE, WHERE I CAN'T FIND MY BRAVE FACE, MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE FACE. MY BRAVE FACE. I'VE BEEN LIVING A LIE, UNACCUSTOMED AS I AM TO THE WORK OF A HOUSEWIFE. I'VE BEEN BREAKING UP DIRTY DISHES AND BEEN THROWING THEM AWAY. EVER SINCE YOU LEFT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO COMPOSE A "BABY, WILL YOU PLEASE COME HOME" NOTE MEANT FOR YOU. AS I CLEAR AWAY ANOTHER UNTOUCHED TV DINNER FROM THE TABLE I LAID FOR TWO. NOW THAT I'M ALONE AGAIN, I CAN'T STOP BREAKING DOWN AGAIN, THE SIMPLEST THINGS SET ME OFF AGAIN TAKE ME TO THAT PLACE. WHERE I CAN'T FIND MY BRAVE FACE, WHERE I CAN'T FIND MY BRAVE FACE, MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE, MY BRAVE FACE. MY BRAVE FACE" It passed!

Oh, well that was a big anticlimax! Surely the lyric is "Where I CAN find my brave face" rather than "CAN'T"?? Also, since you included punctuation above, there are SEVERAL commas there that should really be full stops ("periods" as you would say).
-
Anticlimactic. Sorry for pulling a "Figure Of Eight" on ya'. And good catch ("can't").

I can't believe this--I looked at 3 websites for the lyrics to My Brave Face and they all say "can't" not "can!" I always thought it was "can" which makes sense to me (Take me to that place where I can find my brave face) Edited to add: I just looked at the lyrics on the CD and it says "can't!"

Not as bad as when I found out that "Live & Let Die" wasn't "in which we're living" but, instead, "in which we live in." Oy vey!

Dustbin Lid still takes the cake, despite knowing that it's evidently an accepted slang term back in his neighborhood

Whaaaaaaaat? That just blew my mind! where I CAN'T find my brave face?!?!?!?!
-
Where I CAN'T find My Brave Face?? NO WAY!!! That doesn't fit properly!
-

Same. But while we don't know what it means at least we know that is what he's singing. Unlike this mind blowing My Brave Face can/can't fiasco! lol

Paul McCartney:
Exactly, it's a bit dafter. And the really cool thing I like about this lyric is there's some bits on the demo that I really didn't find words for. So I had to try really hard to hear what I'd been singing on this late-night demo; and a couple of bits didn't make sense - 'despite too easy ride to see' was one of them. But it's starting to make sense to me now
Perhaps he could share the meaning with us! As for the My Brave Face fiasco, surely it HAS to be can? The song is about a breakup and he wants to be taken to the place where he can find his brave face?

It makes so much more sense for it to be CAN. Think it was a typo that no one's noticed?

I've had a listen and I could be convinced he's saying can't!

I remain belligerent in my belief that "in which we're living", as also with "CAN" is the right lyric despite what it's listed in. I put no faith in "official" printed lyrics.

I agree with "can" and on listening to the original it could well be "in which we're living" ACTUALLY in this version it 99% sounds like "in which we're living" to me!
In fact, on ALL the version on Youtube that I've listened to juts now there is a definite "we're", living often sounds like live in but I'm convinced I can hear "we're" in almost every version.
