And here it is the international, experimental, online duet. Eve and Oliver-Bridge Over Troubled Water www.oliversanz.com/BridgeEveOliver.mp3 It's the first time I've done this... I felt special when I heard Eve vocals after mine. We did it on G, 2 notes higher than the original. I thought this song would sound especially well with Eve singing. And I think it's a good key. We both have had colds and sore throats, just like Ringo... there seem to be a world epidemia of that... well...
Man I hate low notes! 2 notes higher and I'm still struggling. Imagine if had to sing this in the key Art sings it in.
Ah! So it WAS a bit challenging....well, the result is beautiful!

No Beatle fan can't miss this. It would be a great sin. Half of the Beatles did yesterday With A little help from my friends. Paul introducing Billy Shears... and both singing in the Beatle way, both in the same mic, Paul shaking the butt, Ringo singing bad, quintaessential Beatles.
Thanks for the link, Oliver. I enjoyed watching this!

We can make a take 2. But I think this is beautiful at least in the 95%. There are little things, but well, this is amateur recording. If we change to A, for instance, the problem would be the end of the song. Another way would be me singing the little parts with low notes.... there's lots of ways to do it. No way I can sing it now, I have a big big cold.

Freddie Mercury quote of the day: "...For me playing in front of a big crowd is out of this world. The feeling I get from the audience is better than sex"

Thank you on behalf on Eve and me (and I hoped we've passed the audition :lol. Maybe we're gonna go perfectionist and do another recording, cause we can make it better. The problem with repeating recordings is that is easy that one starts not liking the song. The Beatles did... 30? takes of When I'm 64 and Obladi Oblada. Now Paul never plays that songs live. They're Beatle classics and yet he never plays them... Freddie Mercury quote of the day: "I'm not interested in politics. Imagine me as the president of a country. I would ruin the nation!. I would sing every speech!" It would be close to this. "President" Freddie Mercury and "Vicepresident" Brian May-Is this the world we created?, Live Aid

No, I wouldn't. If I had to make perfectionist recordings of all the songs I did, I'd still be recording the very first one. We're never going to be completely happy with what we did. I know all about that! And besides, Bridge is a solo song...maybe it wasn't meant to be a duet. We did good on this recording. I don't even know if I can sing it better. It's not the easiest song!

That's kind of what I mean, is better to move on. If it was something I wrote I could care of make it better but this is entertainment... And it's one of that songs as big as life. No it wasn't mean to be a duet... if Paul and Art didn't sang in a duet way, then sure it wasn't mean to be... but that was part of the challenge. I like challenges, you know, the harder the better.

It seems I really passed some audition and made it to the Global Wings.

This remix of "I Know There's Something Going On" is pretty cool:

Right now I've discovered the last thing of Keane, one of the best they have done. Sometimes it seems like an ABBA classic.
I'm off to the piano -
I think this new song from Depeche Mode is really good!

Here's my solo version of Bridge. I did at least 50 takes for this song....it's really a hard song to sing! Eventually I ended up doing each verse separately and then mixed everything together, because I couldn't do the three verses in the same take and be happy with it. : It's still not perfect, pitch isn't good in some places either...and my voice cracked on that final "mind". Damn! Artie is a genius! And Paul too, for writing the song! Piano track is Oliver's. Many thanks! Very pretty indeed!

Here is another one of my "Impossible Duet" series. In the same spirit as the others, a live track, no perfectionism (that's for my songs), only 10 minutes to do it, not going back. Queen and Oliver - Bohemian Rhapsody www.oliversanz.com/bohemianrhapsody.mp3 yes, the cold still shows, kind of a 5% of the track

Karaoke report. I didn't know how long my voice was going to last. There was not much people in the place, and few wanted to sing so we sang a lot of times (if not the place would have become a bore...) I first did Don't let the sun go down on me, and it was great. Then I went with one of my friends to do Twist and Shout. One of the wildest versions ever. Other friend was shy to sing. I was going to be Lennon and they were going to do the McCartney/Harrison easy things repeating what Lennon sings. In the part of the vocal crescendo madness... I thought we couldn't that... we haven't prepared a thing, I don't know why I even tried, just for fun. But somehow I got to that crazy high note on the end of the thing. It was meant to be that I did Suspicious Minds too. In the part of "Altought I love survive" I unconsciously went to the floor on my knees just like Elvis did sometimes, people seems to like these things a lot, and they're natural in me (I do them at home :lol, better doing them. That kind of gave me confidence but well... one think is singing high, and another is singing a lot times or loud... when you have your throat still not recovered... well... I tried The Show Must Go On and it was a whole disaster . This evening I could sing Bohemian Rhapsody but this night after 3 songs, I couldn't sing The Show Must Go On. So plan B... I choosed one of the most ANTI-karaoke songs, "Strawberry Fields Forever" . And we did a joking number, we choosed "As you as love me" and we certainly did a mock of the Backstreet Boys (and of ourselves), kind of like that Japanese video but singing really. And they don't like much Strawberry Fields but sure they like Yesterday, I did great that one. I didn't have to shout a thing, you know... We did duets with people around, some girl I didn't knew at all joined me in my mic for some song. I guess it was because of the Backstreet Boys thing PS The first song I asked was Bohemian Rhapsody really, but they still "haven't fixed it". Not a song they're gonna like, I know, but I don't mind.

Seeing "Coachella Q&A" in this website, Paul is in top creative shape again. With those unexpected answer in the interviews, like in the Beatles times, for instance. 3. Will The Fireman be getting a live outing? We are hoping to bring The Fireman along and persuade him to do a couple of numbers 4. How do you feel about playing to a crowd as diverse as the Coachella audience? What do you hope the crowd will walk away with? Their feet! I like diverse audiences; I kind of get them whether I like it or not ? my audience often has a big generational span. The spirit at a festival event is very free and so fits with my way of thinking. Next one will be a great album. Already 20 songs finished Paul says.

One twisted lyrics, for the old days. That don't impress much (oh oh yeah) I've known a few girls who thought they were pretty smart But you've got being right down to an art You think you're an expert in things you don't have a clue Spice Girls best things ever and the Beatles absurd Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else Okay, so you're a rich lawyer That don't impress me much So you got the brain but have you got the touch Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night That don't impress me much I never knew a girl who carried 10 mirrors in her handbag And a hairdryer too-just in case And all that ultra make up in your face just like a Van Gogh 'Cause Heaven forbid it should fade if you laugh Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else Okay, so you're a supermodel That don't impress me much So you got the looks but have you got the touch Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night That don't impress me much You're one of those girls who likes to tight all her clothes So much you can't barely breath and either can't we And then It's me who's supposed to do all the talk And to do it without glancing what you know that turns me on Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else Okay, so you're Denise Milani... That don't impress me much So you got the curves but have you got the touch Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night That don't impress me much You think you're the queen but have you got the touch Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright But that won't keep me warm on the long, cold, lonely night That don't impress me much Okay, so what do you think you're Marilyn or something... Whatever That don't impress me much... No!... That don't impress me much
