btw, she played in Brokeback Mountain. I love the scene in the car.
LOL, I just love Brokeback Mountain period [size=7](and Michelle Williams, but that's another story )
Fabulous movie. I remember some critics at the time saying that both Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal (sp?) had likely 'ruined' their careers, taking those somewhat risky (by then, Hollywood 'standards') roles, but that seems to have been about that last thing that happened. They both ended up receiving critical and consumer acclaim for their efforts, and rightly so, I think.

I guess you heard that Obama was RE-sworn in?
Yeah, and apparently it wasn't on a bible so some folks are in an uproar :

Hello I'm answering what is on the souvenir section. I've seen this now: "Lost Mozart masterpiece performed for the first time in France" http://www.yahoo.com/s/1019449 it's just the piece we talked about here, I saw the pic with the score and recorded something that is not similar at all to what's on the video www.oliversanz.com/mozartunknown.mp3
I like your 'interpretation' (for lack of a better word) of this, Oliver. Funny how different people can envision a piece so differently, when neither have actually heard the piece performed by the composer.

Did anyone see
? Wow. He's in a coma now, but the doctors say he is going to be ok.Ouch. That reminds me of the commercial on American TV many years ago....can't recall if it was NBC or ABC sports, but one of them had a long-running commercial that showed a ski jumper taking a similar fall (Tina, do you remember this? Do you remember who it was?), and some 'winning' athletes, and the tag line was "the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat". Of course, the 'agony of defeat' line was voiced over the exact moment depicting that horrendous fall.
Yeah, that's the first thing that I thought of too, 'the agony of defeat' from Wide World of Sports. The skier broke his leg or ankle in that clip.

Quite true, as long as one is dreaming it may as well be a good one! At least until Bjorn makes a 'rule' against it
Yeah, where is "Rule Man" lately? Has he not found his way into the new Supernova yet? :

Hi Christy, how is the work in your house going? Are the walls rebuild? : Today I bought the newest CD of Walt Wilkins, Hope Well. Do you know his music? I love it. Of this album I prefer 18 Days Of Rain. I already have his album Mustang Island on which I get goose bumps from the song Long Winter. http://www.waltwilkins.com/ http://www.myspace.com/waltwilkins I bought a CD of Gretchen Peters too; The Secret Of Life. Later at home I realised I had bought an older album of her. I better had bought Burnt Toast & Offerings. You can listen to her music at her website. http://gretchenpeters.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=144&Itemid=101
Hi Mieke! The house is "coming along". I was telling a friend just yesterday, that some days, the work continues at a hare's pace.....others, it's very much at that of a tortoise. I hadn't taken any pics in awhile, so I took some last night, but there's some major stuff going on today, so I'll take more pics later and upload them. Will let ya know when. I'm thinking seriously of getting Gretchen Peters CD, too. I like many of the tracks that I've heard clips of. Once again, you educate me. As for Walt Wilkins, I recall you posting about him in the past, and I don't recall caring much for his music, although, I may have him confused with someone else. I'll give him another listen and see. How's life on your side of the planet?

Amen to that. As for anyone mocking that fabulous hat she wore on Inauguration Day, cuz personally, I thought it was fabulous.
The only mocking I've seen was on The Daily Show and it wasn't her hat they were on about. The skit was about how it was time to put away childish things all the while Stewart was being as juvenile as possible. I heard Aretha on a talk show stating that she wasn't pleased with how much the coldness of the air affected her voice,
Man, I've missed The Daily Show this whole week. Damn. This would have been a great week to see it, too. I can just imagine Stewart's 'take' on Roberts' flubbed (intentional or not? Hmmm? ;)) administering of the Oath of Office to Obama. You know they have a 'history', those two? And The Colbert Report is another one that I absolutely should NOT have missed this week. Damn. I hate being this busy.

Life is going on well. Though I don't like the month of January. It's a long, cold and dark month, that never seems to end. Today we got a lot of rain and wind. My husband and I made the best of the day; I took the afternoon off and we went shopping for new CD's. Music will brighten up the dark days. Now I remember that you didn't like Walt Wilkins that much; it was too much country for you. The song Long Winter suits this time of the year perfect. I can listen to it over and over again while driving in the car.

Hi Tina, I haven't seen Aretha singing in Washington. But the other artists were wearing warm clothes. It looked like it was very cold in Washington. I felt sorry for all those people who had been waiting for hours in the cold.
It was very cold. I read that there was talk about possibly canceling the parade that followed the inauguration, which is what happened when Ronald Reagan was inaugurated the second time. The temperature that day was something like -7F and he actually took the Oath inside cuz it was too damned cold outside.

It looked like most people were bundled up for the weather and if you were in the middle of a crowd it was probably warmer. (maybe they rotated taking turns on the outside like the penguins do ) Considering some of the nasty weather DC is subject to this time of year it really was pretty decent .

Ha! I didn't know about that bit of it. I was just waiting for someone to file a ridiculous lawsuit against him or the U.S. Government (or both : :lol alleging that he "wasn't really President", since the Oath was flubbed. :

Yes, thanks. That was it......ABC's Wide World of Sports. That commercial ran for YEARS, and it was just as painful to watch the last time, as it was the first. I would literally wince every time.
