*logs in to forum for first time in a week* Hooooooooly. That was unforgettable. Shocked and stunned. One of the best McCartney concert experiences ever.
Please elaborate. (I'm serious)
I had no clue about the setlist, and got hit with so many gems and totally unexpected moments. Closest I have ever been to this was the opening leg of the EU tour in Bologna with 'Come And Get It' and 'The Word', and this was that x 10. Sure, on paper you think back and realise he added 0 solo songs and the second half was largely the same, but hey... we even got 'Letting Go' back, nobody could have expected that. More to come.
Will get to see Paul in Berlin, so how does it compare to previous concerts you've been to?!

Letting Go pops up in soundcheck so it's return wasn't s huge surprise. (a) How was his voice? (b) Did you take some more nice vids???
Sure, but it's a Wings tune, a great one, back in the proper set for the first time in 6 years, which normally means it's dead forever. Very harsh in the beginning, to the point that he had barely power when he spoke to the audience, but it quickly went better and better. I did, won't disappoint you guys. I tried to fix nice audio but stealth mode on that one failed big time, haha... But stay tuned.
Going to show 2, lad?

Good reports appearing here re Vancouver. That's great to see!

If you've been on a swlf imposed blackout all the talk here has been how bad, REALLY bad his voice has been on each concert previous to Vancouver. I also mentioned he has "no power" in his voice. Anyway there's heaps about that you can catch up with at your leisure. Tell me you've got nice clips of AHDN and Love Me Do!
Ah, I'm not sure I want to catch up on all that, haha. 'Love Me Do', that whole incredible new semi-acoustic set even, yes. AHDN, no. I had a suspicion the opener could be a good one, and wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. It was amazing.

Like said, 11 times, first time ever I got to see a show without knowing the plot to the script. Unforgettable for me.

I thought it was pretty meh actually tbh. Strange Days Indeed...one might say. Still glad you had such a blast.

No, this was my golden lucky chance until he comes to Australia, lol. I made the impossible happen. Travelled from Australia to California for another act: jetlagged and without sleep from Friday morning in Australia to Friday morning on the West Coast US straight to Palm Springs, day later flew to San Francisco without any sleep, day later to Santa Cruz without much sleep, after the gig straight to the airport and onto Vancouver via LA with only an one hour power nap, and now again without any sleep catching a plane in 3 hours back to LA. I knew it would be worth it. And btw, Ticketmaster stitched me up and never made my ticket upgrade happen in the end, and were unreachable on all fronts. All shout-outs and props and blessings and thumbs up to the local Rogers Arena people (and the Vancouver locals in general). They traded my nosebleeds I was saddled with, with fantastic seats at the side for no extra fee to make up for the Ticketmaster hassle. I always was at the front for McCartney, or at the least close at the front, and this was a whole different experience, but I actually really enjoyed it this way.

I've seen him front few rows centre, side view, far far back, standing room floor, you name it. Interesting from different perspectives yes. I thought you were a Dutchie, "location Netherlands" WTF?

I am, but situated in Australia at the moment.

I do... but... gotta... get... those... videos... out... 'My Valentine' feat. Diana Krall:
Sorry about the watermark, hope it's not too obnoxious, hate it normally. But I hope it will stop others making money of freely spread footage. -
Very nice. Thanks and as usual, well captured.
-
Gee I saw Diana here around Feb. She tours here heaps. C'mon Paul! Haul ass to OZ!!!
-
Paul sounds about the same from videos I have seen. On Yesterday, he held off stretching the high note on the word yesterday. I honestly think he can do this the whole tour. Lots of people singing along on Love Me Do. That covers up a multitude of sins in a live setting. My Valentine sounded fine, since that is how he sounds these days. On a lighter note, I want one of those white collarless shirts he is wearing for these shows!! As for the set list, "It's a Beatle thing!"

The shirt is yours. I want Diana!

Either he had/has a bug or he shredded the hell out of the voice the 4 consecutive days at Fresno. I sure hope it was one of those two things. He sounds fine (for this era) in that Valwntine clip. Perhaps his voice now is slowly recovering. Anyway Vancouver is the best news so far this tour.

Try to hear "Mull of Kyntire" ....

Try to hear "Mull of Kyntire" ....
Clearly he struggles with the higher parts, but I think this song fits, since it is a folk song, so an older guy singing it is very endearing. Also, when he goes for those high notes, though wobbly, his voice is clear and pure. His intonation is a bit off since he struggles to stay in pitch. That's ok. It's when he grinds to hit high notes on AHDN or Helter Skelter that I cringe, not just for how it sounds, but because it hurts to listen to, knowing what it does to the voice. Having said that, it's his voice and none of my business.

True but if I pay for a ticket to see and hear him, his voice is my business. I realise too that at this stage it's very much caveat emptor. I'm fine with that.

I've been on the turps. Fading fast. So it's off to the fart sack now. Goodnight Vancouver.
