Morrissey/The Smiths fans

It was a bit of a stretch. Back when I used to hear The Smiths and Morrissey's early solo stuff only on college-radio, his vocal style was jokingly referred to as "droning" -- referring to his monotone vocals. There was even a college-radio show dedicated to thier music called Stop Me If You've Heard This Drone Before. Seriously. And, of course, there are those military drones that Obama loves to use so much... OK -- it was a lame joke. ops:
-
Haha, yes, well I certainly understand the voice part. The Long and Whining Drone.
-
Good one.
-
I'm curious: What is that song "You're The One For Me, Fatty" all about?
-
Hey Auds, I love that song. I assume it's aimed at a female, in a sort of I dunno, 'you're different but I love you' if you get what I mean. I find it a nice song, as if two of the 'outsiders' of the human race have a love together.
-
Probably already linked this (Reel Around The Fountain) But I just adore the song.

MORRISSEY COLBERT INTERVIEW.
I love it when Morrissey gets interviewed, that awkwardness, oh yeah, I know that feeling. -

-
Very, very funny! His x-factor is clearly still in tact.
-
I thought the interview was very different to others, where usually the interviewer seem intimidated by Morrissey. I noticed The Smiths were brought up and I've read that the manager usually asks for no questions about the group. I'm sure Colbert is a secret fan really.

Sounds to me like you may not be aware that "Stephen Colbert" -- in this guise -- is a character. He is a satirical version of the real-life, American conservative tv-host (and hypocritical dumb-ass) Bill O'Reilly, who hosts The O'Reilly Factor on FIXED -- er, FOX NEWS. Colbert is only pretending to be obnoxious, dogmatic and narrow-minded. Because that's how O'Reilly actually is.

I am British We don't have that on TV here and I try to keep up with my own countries politics instead of someone else's. I don't think Mozzer's too impressed by Romney though.

Just wanted to make sure that you were in the know -- and that Morrissey was in on the joke...although Colbert seemed to really push his buttons when they were discussing Meat Is Murder.
-
Yeah Auds, he was right in there. Imagine if Johnny Marr did come out. Are you veggie Auds? I'm not but think it's cool Morrissey's really sticking to his guns, like making the studio a meat-free zone etc.

I'll go months without eating meat. Then I'll slip. Damn you, Logans Steakhouse!

Seeing the man in question this Thursday. My first Morrissey concert...

He had a little blood on his hand--not sure how he cut it. He said after the song was over, "Blood, blood [wipes forehead], sweat...tears..." Here is the setlist--I'll post a review later today or tomorrow. I had a three-hour drive home after and had to get up at 6:30 a.m. for work, so I'm operating on only a few hours of sleep.
