I love this! All caught on the store's security camera, too. http://www.bofunk.com/video/6711/dancing_cop.html
People always told me be careful of what you do... Nobody told him obviously.
Even MORE true for the guy in the other clip I posted.

And now for something completely different... Fil and I share a love of a particular type of music known as "American Standards". I'm guessing at least some of you won't be familiar with this genre cuz you're either too young or are living on a side of the planet where it's perhaps not so prevalent. Anyway, the era from which this music comes is roughly the 1930's and 1940's, and a lot of it was used in, and often composed for, old Broadway musicals, by composers such as the infamous Irving Berlin. Over time, many of those old Broadway shows became movies and the music was found again in that medium. This particular Berlin song however, (although from the same genre and era) , was written expressly for a "musical film", entitled "Follow the Fleet" (1936), starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. http://www.reelclassics.com/Teams/Fred&Ginger/fred&ginger5.htm Over the decades, this great song has since been recorded by many of music's greatest artists including: --Anita O'Day (1956) --Ella Fitzgerald (195 --Nat King Cole (1961) --Frank Sinatra (1961) --Tony Bennett (1987) --Diane Krall (1999) ....and many more, all in various styles. Actually, that's the beauty of this song, I think. The number of different ways it can be done is staggering, and a YouTube search will reveal some real gems to you, if you're interested. In our version, Fil has done all guitar work, production, and "artwork" (shown here), and the vocal work is mine. So, without further delay (and not without it's flaws ops: ), Fil and I happily share with you............... Let's Face the Music and Dance! http://rapidshare.com/files/116266376/Let_s_Face_the_Music_and_Dance_Fil_and_Christy_30_April_2008.mp3 And just for fun.....another version, with a nod to the song's age....;) http://rapidshare.com/files/111739394/LFTMAD_SCHERZO_mix_Fil_and_Christy_1_may_2008.mp3

Okay, now I'm done....:.....almost. I just have to say that I have enjoyed the sharing of this "rough and raw stuff" here today as much as anything that's ever been posted among us before.
I've enjoyed it too! It doesn't have to be perfect. If there's some mistakes... so what? I still enjoy listening to it.
Exactly. And I love the way most everybody's got something to put out there, too. Speaking of which...........what's coming from YOU next?!?
Hello there, honey! It looks like everyone is willing to contribute with something. I love it! Something's coming soon... you're just gonna have to be patient.
Hey Svennie! How are ya today? You're working on something else already? Cool! I hear you like Green Day! But whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it! That stew that Bjorn was asking about? Almost ready.
Hello! I'm doing great. Just chilling out listening to the music that was shared here yesterday. Lots of talented people here! I love Green Day. Maybe I'll do Basket Case... we'll see. WOW!!!! I love the new song. AMAZING. Perfect singing, great job by Fil too! Flaws? where?? Sounds great.

Evie.... One question: What IS this?
I can help you out with this (sorry to dissapoint if you would've really wanted Evie to explain ) It's a music clip to a children's show broadcasted in Belgium and the Netherlands a couple of years ago (I don't know if they still show it in Belgium, but here they stopped) The characters are Big & Betsy. Big is a pretty rude, silly piglet (big is dutch for piglet) and Betsy is his owner, a farmgirl or something. Big's catchphrase was "Mopje flauw mopje" (something like "joke silly joke") and the best thing in the world to him was to fart a lot. It was really silly but enjoyable, this song still comes by on the tellie now and again in a children's show (I actually like it ) Picture:
Haha, you explained this a lot better than I could. I've heard of Big and Betsy, but I never watched it so I had no idea that this was a clip from it!

There really are. And ya know what's funny that just occurred to me last night? If I had ever thought that I'd have enjoyed all those 'rough' files as much as I did, I'd probably not have deleted as many of my own as I have over all this time. Okay, maybe not. ops:
I love Green Day. Maybe I'll do Basket Case... we'll see.
Cool! You pick!
WOW!!!! I love the new song. AMAZING. Perfect singing, great job by Fil too! Flaws? where?? Sounds great.
Thanks, Svenn! It's a great, old song...one of hundreds from that era that are fantastic!

It should! I'm going to ask my dad to install my old LP player from my old room here. I miss playing LP's. In my student days, I had all my Beatles cd's at my studio in Gent, but I still went home in the weekends. So of course I couldn't carry all these cd's back and forth, so at home I always used to play LP's during the weekend.

I should have the movie Top Hat somewhere, the song was written for this movie. It's also shown in The Green Mile (talk about great movies!!) By the way, I've been singing "the farting song" all afternoon. It's almost as catchy as the la la laa song from Kabouter Plop (I love studio 100 )

Hey, I thought you were only "watching" today! Sorry to disturb you! Seriously, thanks very much, Angela. I'm not surprised you like the old Standards, too. It was an incredible time for music and theater, that era. My parents always loved this music and I grew up hearing a lot of it.....hated it at the time. Young and stupid, ya know? : But I SO love it now, and have for all of my adult life. And ya know what? My kids love it too, so there's another generation coming up that just might 'carry the torch'. Anyway, glad you liked it....thanks very much! Oh, and btw, how 'bout Fil in that snazzy suit and spats??

Or in the Netherlands "Ik moest kloppen want de bel doet het niet!" But they are not what they used to be, ever since Samson, sorry Danny Verbiest , left it's been going downhill... Plus I don't like Gert, here's one big arrogant guy Have I told you about the time I managed to drop a big splash of dirty 'mopping' water into his shoes? You should watch Kabouter Plop... Or Piet Piraat or Mega Mindy They're silly but nice I like children's television :
