Two very emotive tributes from our GW family today!
I think John was the emotive one and we both we were just reflecting that.

Well, Audi did a recording of My Brave Face. And I was supposed to add keyboards or something... free-style... I thought that My Brave Face is a song that's similar to the Beatles early songs, only the arrangement is different, and the production. So, I thought of taking the song back in time to 1963 . And here it is... harmonica in the intro, some claps, Lennon/Mc typical harmonies, crazy high scream, "ooohsss", maybe the only thing that doesn't belong here is that Audi used some distortion and there was no guitar distortion then, but Audi didn't knew what I was going to do. I tried to play the 2 little guitar solo sounding like George Harrison then. But it doesn't sound like George Harrison. Audi and Oliver-My Brave Face "1963 version" Credits: Audi-drums, lead vocals, guitars, bass Oliver-backing vocals, harmonica (first time ever :lol, claps (first time ever too :lol, and lead guitar on the 2 little solos

The link is working for me. Oliver, let me tell you how I think you could make this better. (though, as you know, I'm not in any way a professional musician so feel free to ignore everything I say here :lol Doing harmonies is great. I myself love figuring out a S&G harmony for example. Then, you actually have to sing these harmonies, which is the hardest part. In my opinion, a very nice harmony blends together with the lead vocal perfectly. That is to say....it STARTS and STOPS at the exact same moment the lead vocal does, and it does not start half a second later than the lead vocal and does not go on long after the lead vocal has ended, unless you were trying to get a reverb effect, which I'm sure you were not trying to do here. You should try it, Oliver. It would make a lot of difference. The very first notes you sing, they start half a second later than Audi's vocals and then you quickly try to catch up. It just....no. I know you like singing freely, but no. Also, that "crazy high scream"? No, it doesn't belong in this song either.

To date, this is the MOST DIFFICULT McCartney vocal I've EVER done. This song is hard!!! I like the extra guitar leads you'd added, Ollie, but maybe another mix is needed. Vlivantje had it right: Blend your vocals into my original mix. Now get to work! : )

I know... My website data said the files had 136 listens yesterday, I guess they're attempts and re-attempts to listen to it... hmm... the trouble is my site, it happens no matter the file you try to listen, well I guess it will be solved soon... I can upload to it to youtube. What do you think audi?

The crazy high scream belongs to take it back to 1963, I know it doesn't really belong there, just like some harmonies. I know what you mean about harmonies but I don't like much that way of doing harmonies. I like ones that add something to the singing melody. I mean.... ( :lol the kind of harmony I wanted to do is like Paul in Ticket To Ride or even the Ballad of John And Yoko... "I think I'm gonna be sad I think it's toDAY" and the harmony is there is a long note singing "day" But as audi sang and as My Brave Face is there is no long note, that's why it can not blend. If I make it blend it would not be so 1963...

Ollie, I say this out of love, ok? Your vocal track sounds like someone secretly had a microphone on you while you're singing along with the radio in your car. Please remix it with your vocal track meshed in the mix -- not over the main track. It'll be sooo much better. Don't forget: Bjorn and Gary tolerated some atrocious tracks from me when I'd first joined Global Wings.

hmmm.... you both want me do what I don't really like to do... hmmm.... what do I do with the "ooh" then... If the harmonies are "blended" ones then that kind of harmony doesn't make sense here... Actually Paul sings that notes a little longer... "I've been living a lieeeee" not " a lie" hmm... I guess I'll try to make it the way you say and let's see what happens... I think I'll need time do it. BTW, Audi! get to work with that unfinished track, you know what it is.
