John's songs are easier to sing for Macca's current voice than his own songs.
I'll give you that.
Thank you, Mr. Martinez.

I'd love for him to give Honey Pie a chance on the piano segment. At least it is one of HIS songs.
There's no way in hell he could hit the notes in that song.
Then why not try a lower the key like he did with "You Wont see me" on this tour?

Time to call it quits. So glad to have seen many many awesome concerts the world over...and here. But facts are facts: the body is willing but the voice is gone. It's embarrassing now. But much more than that, it's heartbreakingly sad.

Tina Turner wanted to stop touring while she could still do her thang. Go out with dignity.

Will the band tell him? Nuh. His daughter Mary witnessed the first night. Will she have a word? Maybe. Will his missus have a word to him? Mmmm, nah. The promoters will slap him on the back and encourage him to play more shows? ??? Highly likely. It's got that pong of Colonel Parker, Vernon, the Memphis Mafia and Elvis' 1977 shows about it. Nobody wants to slay the golden goose aka cash cow.

Well, unlike Elvis, at least Macca is playing real cities. Elvis was playing a lot of medium-sized markets like Johnson City, Tennessee over and over again -- while Europe waited and waited. But we digress.
-
I can't believe all this negative about this new tour or Paul's voice. Almost all causal concert goers are happy or pretty much positive if you read all comments on FB page.

Nobody has dunked our man's head in an ice bucket either. Not yet!

of course, lately there have been some unusual cities though... Fresno? Sioux City? Little Rock? Hershey?

Thing is we are, most of us long time fans here. Unless something dramatic happens for the better, the threads here will have a similar theme for quite some time. We're not enjoying it but we are chatting about what we are hearing because it's upsetting for us. Seemingly what we all knew would have to happen some day, has happened. There is no way I can say anything positive about his singing so far on this tour.

Damn. You definitely know your Elvis. We need to talk shop sometime.

Elvis only toured the USA because his manager was an illegal alien.

What's alarming is it is three shows into the tour. There are still many dates to go, including two back to back concerts in Vancouver.

Love to mate. I'm a huge Elvis fan. I know my stuff - you got that right.

No one mentioned how he played/rocked for 3 hrs. 7 minutes without a break. His energy is over the top. Everyone including was too busy singing along to worry about his voice. He cracked a couple of times but I enjoyed it. I dint care if he's sitting in a rocking chair telling stories I would still go. As long as Paul does shows that I can attend I will go!

...too busy singing along to worry about his voice..." Yup. I think you and I differ on what our expectations are for a paid, professional concert experience.

From the Seattle Times below" "McCartney's voice showed his age (he'll be 74 in June). His vocals were sometimes quavery in the quieter numbers, and he had difficulty hitting the high notes on songs like "Maybe I'm Amazed."

You and Suzan bring up a good point. In the past, a concert was where you went to hear a great artist or band perform their music. Now, it seems a lot of folks go to see Paul to sing along with him. If you are excited and singing along, you really don't notice the vocal issues, or care. What is going to happen eventually is a throat doctor will intervene and order rest and no singing, and that will end everybody's sing along karaoke experience. For now, enjoy it. I listen to him do songs like Helter Skelter, and that is not good for his voice. He compensates by grinding his vocal chords. Having said all that, I wish him well in Vancouver, and am cautiously optimistic he just has a cold and will be better tonight and tomorrow night.

I would vote on Stella being the one to be honest with him.

Exactly !! As everyone can tell, I am a big NY Yankee fan. I have seen some great athletes play a little bit too long (exp. Mickey Mantle) and it is sad to watch. Heck, it was tough seeing Derek Jeter struggle to hit .250 his last year and his speed was gone. I don't want to see Mr. McCartney being a shadow of his greatness as a vocalist. There is no shame in getting old and calling it quits.
