Metal/Hard Rock fans?

At the risk of being the only guest at this particular party, anyone else out there like to rock out to some harder tunes every now and then? I'm currently on a System or a Down kick, with some Rage Against the Machine thrown in for good measure. Anyone else? *crickets chirping*

hell no i dont like metal!

I love a bit of metal every now and then. In the same way I like lighter, middle-of-the-road kind of stuff every now and then too

Ditto. I like to mix things up a bit to fit my mood. Sometimes it's classical music, sometimes it's horrible pop music, and sometimes it's some Metallica Black Album.

Not me WB.....but my dear departed chum was a metal fanatic (Alice Cooper especially). This was playing last week as we entered for his funeral....

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but I certainly love his taste in music. Beautiful song, by the way. I love it! Cheers for sharing it.

Thanks WB. I prefer the punkier type of stuff. I did introduce the dear soul to Bruce and Bob Seger and he loved them both from that day to this.....and he never even thanked me....

I also LOVE punk. I should start a thread for punk music, too. Good idea!

I have been known to collect a few such albums - usually live recordings. I'm never sure about the various divisions between Metal, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Rock - but knew I was on the right track when my parents left the room I stumbled across King Crimson's live album Earthbound:
I like it live because in this gendre they tend to wander off into lengthy intrumental solo's every five minutes and improvised performance to performance. Others that had my elders scuttling away: Deep Purple Live In Japan Any live Yes album - Tales From Topographic Oceans. Emerson Lake And Palmer - Welcome Back My Friends.... I'm sure that listening to such when the mood demands blows away a few mental cobwebs. Martin -

My friend also turned me on to a group called Mountain, famous for Mississippi Queen. I hadn't heard their music beyond that one song, but they're also good when you're in that mood.

Led Zeppelin=WOW! I've not ever been able to get into AC/DC as much as others (sorry, my love), but also enjoy Deep Purple quite a bit. Beatallica is one I'm not familiar with, though.
