THE EAGLES

I love the Eagles and like Hotel California and Life In The Fast Lane is another one of my favorites. I saw them in concert in 1995 and they opened the show with Hotel California and closed with Take It Easy. When they sang Dirty Laundry instead of Don Henley singing got the bubble headed bleach blonde comes on at 5 she can tell you aboout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye he sang she can tell you about the Oj. it was a great show even though I sat in the nosebleed section.
That was probably the year I went (the "Comeback Tour" for $100 each tix) I was in about the 17th row as I got #2 in the lottery.

Yes it was The Hell Freezes over Tour. I got the cheaper tickets and sat in the nosebleed section but I didn't care as long as I was there. Funny thing is when I went to get my ticket I said one ticket and the cashier looked at me funny and said one ticket like going by yourself was a big deal. I didn't mind going by myself.

I go by myself most of the time too! I don't know many people who love concerts...they're missing out! I saw The History of the Eagles 3 times. The first two times I couldn't get that close. I was so lucky to get the third row center, the last moment. I'm was sooooo happy!!! Joe Walsh had a camera on his head and took a video of the audience...has anyone ever seen anything like that? He was going to make a You Tube. The audience was supposed to act up, however it was in England, so it must have been calmer than an American audience. I wonder if he downloaded it? It was a great memory

Welcome to the Hotel California such a lovely place!
-
I only saw the Eagles in concert post-Felder, but their harmonies were still pretty good. That new guy on guitar was good, too.

I love the lyrics to Hotel California, especially these lyrics as follows: Mirrors on the ceiling The Pink Champagne on ice And she said We are all just prisoners here, of our own device And in the master's chamber's They gathered for their feast They stab it with their steely knives But they just can't kill the beast Last thing I remember I was running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before Relax, said the night man We are programmed to receive You can check-out anytime you like But you can NEVER leave! Damn I love those lyrics!

See my corrected post above. Fleetwood Mac, not Led Zeppelin!

Love them! My 2nd favorite band, after The Beatles of course! Saw them in concert twice. Once in 1976 with Led Zeppelin. And then not until the mid '90's when they had their comeback tour. Tickets were $100 which we thought was f-ing outrageous, but I got in about the 17th row on the floor! (This was all in Atlanta) ETA: I lost my mind and wrote Led Zepellin, when it was Fleetwood Mac! Thanks for pointing out my mistake John!
You're very welcome Nancy, sh*t happens!

Johnny come lately There's a new kid in town Everybody loves you

Hi Eagles fans! I do not know if all of you have read the news or seen the interview with Don Henley on youtube but Don Henley is hoping for a Eagles reunion. However, the only way he will do it is with Glenn Frey's son Deacon, Jackson Browne and Don Felder along with the other members such as Joe Walsh and Timothy Schmidt. What do all of you think of this?

Kennedy Center Honors were recently awarded. The Eagles were amongst those honored. Stephen Colbert announced. Said he met Ringo and Ringo knew him by name and Stephen was shocked. Supposed to be aired at the end of the month, I believe.

I've been searching for the daughter of the Devil Himself I've been searching for an angel in white I've been waiting for a woman who's a little of both And I can feel her but she's no where in sight

I happened to see the television when they were having the ceremony and President Obama was joking to Joe Walsh about his past of tearing up hotels, etc... It looked sad without Glenn sitting there though.

Hi hey_kittay! How are you? I hope all is well with you. Joe Walsh learned from the best when it came to Hotel destruction! The late great Keith Moon (The Loon) was responsible for training Joe Walsh on how to destroy Hotel rooms. For Moon the Loon, Hotel destruction was a sport! I'm surprised that Obama didn't joke with Walsh about him (Walsh) running for President a few years back!

The new TV Guide has an article about the Kennedy Center Honors and a pic of Joe, Don and Timothy, all three in tuxes with bow ties! James Taylor and Al Pacino are the two other male recipients.

^^ Hi! I am doing great! Thanks for asking. Hope U R well. Yes, and didn't John Belushi partake in tearing up hotels with Joe? Sounds like a fun time. Glad The Eagles got the recognition they deserve!

I'm doing well, thank you for asking. You have good memory, John Belushi and his partner in crime, Dan Aykroyd, used to assist Joe in destroying Hotel rooms. From what I read, both Belushi and Aykroyd were pretty good at it! I'm really surprised that Joe Walsh wasn't in THE BLUES BROTHERS (The original movie), Joe would have been great in it!
