hello there! ti kaneis? I'm from Greece as well, though I live in the netherlands (i'm half greek) Are you really the only fan over there I can't believe it! How come it's so not popular there? I mean, the beginning of the whole beatlething for me were the cassette tapes from the red and blue albums from greece! That's where it started for me... But ok, despina vandi and anna vissi etc rule the world over there, and not to forget the old fashion greek plingeling Where do you live? My family lives in Athens and Thessaloniki (original places : ). Anyway, I am happy that there is at least one (now one and a half!) greek present on this board, thank you!

hey Zaza what a surprise to get a note from a dutch-greek. well here in greece, the beatles have several fans mostly in the mid ages, but young people consider them old fashioned and boring. none of my friends is really interested hearing their cds. one friend lately told me that the only Beatles song he knows is "hello goodbye" and its really boring. last year i went to london to see paul live and believe it or not most of my friends laughed at me that i gave so much money just to go see paul mc cartney. and the funny thing is that im going to do it again this summer!! i have also visited london sites of the beatles many times and last summer i had the experience of new york city strawberry fields and dacota. as you said people here are listening to anna vissi and despina vandi. they are in fashion, but their songs are listen-dance-forget histories. ill be happy to hear again from you. hugs to netherlands! brge15@yahoo.gr

one last interesting comment. people here may dont listen to Beatles or any 60s stuff nowadays, but when the Rolling Stones came for a gig back in 1998 it was the event of the decade with 80.000 people dacing like crazy in olympic stadium. a Mc Cartney gig would drive people crazy too, i am sure. people here are hungry for live music, especially by big legendary names. big success in the past shows like Pink Floyd and Stones. come on Paul , do i have to BEG for a live????? ))

Hi there! So you have really visited a lot of things, that is very cool. I wish I had. To be honest, I've never been to a concert of Paul, though he came here one year ago (now I'm punching my head for it...he's not coming back!) Did you went to all those things by yourself? btw leave your friends in the annavissidream, they don't know what the're missing! Talking about the Olympics; I was intended to go there this year, but the plans changed.. : Are you going there?

well, yes i visited all those places by myself and sometimes my gf joins me. i have crossed the zebra too, this is REALLY a thing every Beatle fam must do in a lifetime!! this year i had plans to visit Liverpool, something i havent done yet, but i dont know if i finally make it because of some problems. about olympic games. i booked tickets for some athletics dates and a month ago i was lucky to find tickets for the closing ceremony! i alsio wanted to go to the opening ceremony, but right now the left few tickets cost up to 750 euros the cheapest!!! if you need any information on how to book olympic tickets please let me know ill be glad to help you. hope youll make it to athens this summer! it will be BIG TIME!!!
-
That is very nice of you, thank you. My uncle is actually going there, I thought, to that openings ceremonie, and he had those 750 euro seats ( he's got too much money or something). Wouldn't it be cool if Paul would open it? Then I would definitly bag for that ticket, or even steal it maybe, hihi But i'll probably won't go to Athens this year -> trouble. But anyway, I wondered, what do you have with Brain Epstein? And is Paul your favo beatle? i don't really have one favourite, but if I hád to choose it would be John , I think. About Liverpool, I would really like to go there as well. Not even to visit all the beatle places in the first place, but more to feel the atmosphere there. Too bad you're having some problems...When did you visit London? How old are you anyway? And are you already sure about your trip to Paris this year? Someone on the dutch board was saying that he might come to the netherlands after the summer, but that was just pure analyzing the last tours... but you never know, hey? bye bye!

I just red on the dutch forum that the sale of the french tickets has started! (in case you didn't know) http://www.ticketnet.fr/shop/fr/manif.asp?IdManif=59839&idtier=145753

ahhh i wish it was Paul to open the olympics, but seems that Paul will never visit here after 1967 when the boys wanted to buy a greek island . but i think he has to think about it. in 1998 Rolling Stones were here and over 80.000 people filled the olympic stadium. i am 30 years old. my favourite Beatle is John for one reason: he was the free spirit of the group, the man who moved the whole world for peace. as about Brian Epstein...well, ive read much about him and i really support the campaign to get him inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame, as a recognition to what he gave us. he was a lonely man whos spirit changed our lifes forever and he now seems forgotten...visit his website for more details about him. we owe him so much. i have visited london several times. my last one was last paril just to see Paul live, a dream of my childhood came true! when i heard the first notes of "hello goodbye" i started crying ( but soon i got dissapointed at the FROZEN english audience)!! i really wanna go to paris this summer and i think ill manage to it. i think that it will be a big time in a full of dancing fans Stade de France. my email is brge15@yahoo.gr have a nice evening

As you can see by the size of my family a bit too expensive to make the trek to Greece this year -even if it is a once in a lifetime event. Maybe next year. We will watch it all on TV though. My uncle Jim was planning to go to the opening ceremonies. He got to Athens last Monday. Right now he is in the hospital across the street from the Athens Hilton. Apparently he had a "minor" heart attack. Will learn more when my sister Anthi arrives back tonight. She was there the last two weeks for my cousin's wedding.
