Sam, You hit the nail on the head with what I was trying to say. Paul is known for his softer side and it is considred by society unmanly for men to be sensitive. DennyC,Oliver Jorie Gracen has told me that a website she has visited thinks Paul is unmanly and John is more of a man's man. Even people I know such as my cousin thinks Paul looks very girly. I'll ignore her though. Another time one guy at my gym asked me waht kind of music do I like and I said Paul Mccartney and he said that is sissy rock. What I meant to says is that people think Paul sings like a woman or writes music for women. Sam from what you says I can understand John acting tough to hide his soft side. Alot of guys are like that including myself at times. I was kind of surprised at John being insecure because I thought being outspoken takes alot of confidence. What was John insecure about? Wearing glasses or to show his sensitive side. With me John wouldn't ahve to put up a macho front because I wouldn't have made fun of him for being soft or whatever else made him uncomfortable.

Hi everybody. I've just talk with that producer with contacts with the record labels. That's the call I've been waiting for for some weeks. Well, he told me that the songs are good and asked me if I have more songs ("200, no problem"). Well, then he told me that he/they want the songs in Spanish not in English, that no-one in Spain would want songs in English, but as I said to him, I've got an international view. But well OK, "I can change them into Spanish...". But then comes the hard point. The arrangements. They have called the arrangements literally "obsolete". : . I said to him "Well, I'm not a band, if Elton John recorded a demo, how he will recorded it?""What arrangements would you do to Let It Be, for instance?" And he said that if the Beatles recorded it again they will make very different arrangements. And I said, well "Paul McCartney does the same kind of arrangements today." And then he said that he could do a "modern arrangement" of Let It Be ("me too"). "Another question if that if this arrangement can be good, (no, Paul would hate it), but that's what they want" "At least in Spain". "My only option here is contact an arranger, "modern arrenger", and sing it in Spanish. Or do that arrangements on my own. "The melodies and the songs are good, but the arrangement is "Obsolete"". I've never heard this word in musical terms... Beethoven may be "obsolete" : Paul McCartney is obsolete. You know, you are "obsolete". Your Loving Flame is obsolete... At the end of the conversation I can't help myself to not saying "So guitar music is on the way out, ain't it?". Well, so... Impossible for me (and for many more) in Spain. Unless I (or some arranger) do the arrangements that would turn the song into "modern", you know. Or maybe... I can try in the U.K. as I planned. Search a manager there. Oasis, Travis, Coldplay, etc. are that "good old obsolete bands" :-).
-
Guess what? I made a call looking for an arranger to send me an example of "modern arrangement" and I was calling... with the same company. LOL :-). And the woman that talked with me said that "English and rock are welcomed", she's a rocker he says. She does the "independent company" stuff. And the producer I've talk before, the big companies stuff. So maybe now the tables will turn. They're making me nervous... They will (or she) will call me again... But I'll keep looking for an example or "non obsolete arrangement" and mostly for a manager in England.

Hi Samcat I'm fine now thanks. The hardest part was playing catch-up with e-mails and this thread. But I enjoyed it. Cheers Sam.
Hello Sam, I am glad you enjoyed it and it is always a pleasure. Especially when Man Utd won this weekend! Cheers, Samcat

Sam Leach:
Hi Denny C, Paulfan and Oliver. I think what Paulfan may have meant was that Paul was ever the diplomat and showed a softer side to others whereas John was a harder personage outwardly. John though did have a big soft centre, his `uncaring' attitude was in reality a protective shield which he put up to hide his own insecurities. Paul was never feminine in any way...just a nice guy who cared about people and how they felt towards him and The Beatles. Cheers. Sam.
Sam, I think you summed it up quite well, and also he was a fine showman as well, and cared about the fans. Cheers Samcat

Hello everyone. Hope you are having a good Monday morning so far. Hi Sam, Thank you. I am looking forward to the induction ceremony. I know it's going to be very emotional... I really liked your comment about Paul. He seems like a genuine, caring, down to earth human being. It's a shame that other people don't always see that... I don't keep up with rugby but congratulations to England for the victory. I am not sure if anyone has asked before but Sam, what do you think of all the controversy surrounding LIBN? I personally think that some of the ridiculous accusations that are being thrown around have hurt the album's sales. DennyC, I was also grateful for the new release. It's wonderful. How cool that the CNN anchors had something nice to say about Paul. Thanks for sharing that. Sara, I am sorry that I haven't been able to stop by Peter's site. I am trying to catch up with my homework and projects. Have you chatted with Peter recently? 21st Century Paul, I doubt that the case aaginst MJ is a publicity stunt. I don't think anyone on this earth wants publicity that badly. It's sad though that people hear someone is accused of such a heinous crime and they run out in droves to buy his CD to show their support. Isn't anyone thinking of the child???? Sometimes I think people have taken leave of their senses... ____________________________________________________________ ~Tashi

Hi Tashi (Stylegurrl) Yes with Paul what you see is what you get. He's a decent and caring guy. Re LIB-N it's best to ignore the detractors. I like it, you like it. Who cares about the critics. And thank you for being the first to congratulate England for becoming World Rugby Champions. Love and hugs. Sam.

You are right Sam. I should ignore the naysayers. The album was for the fans and we love it. I promise not to read any more reviews! I was very sad to hear that a fan died during the victory celebrations. My heart goes out to his family. Hi Sara, I hope to join you this weekend. I will try to stop by Saturday night. Cheers, ~Tashi
