Sam Leach:

I would imagine it would be emotional....*sigh*. Sam, I'm sorry I posted that in the MSN groups...I didn't know any better. My bad.
Stuff being sent TODAY...stuff being sent today...

Hi everybody. Well my "producers" don't accept a % of my future profits. Maybe that's the ways it goes. ??? But what will I do will that record? Should I spent all that money just to record it. In that case I will do it in Barcelona, and for less money. Maybe this man "has contacts", but if he doesn't accept a %... it means he doesn't trust his own contacts....
-
Hmmm....
I wouldn't know what to do. I'm not very good with that....Best of luck! *hugs*

Thanks. At the moment all that they are offering to me it's... record and arrange my songs. I don't need to go to Madrid and pay such money for it.
I'll say them NO, unless they will accept a % like if they were managers.

So, you are expecting them to pay you a %. A definate value pretty much for secruity for your songs and such. Good plan. You hang in there, Oliver!

No Kat, it's not that way. They want me to pay them for arrange and record my songs. They say they have contacts with record labels that will make my future records be heard by them. So I offer them (the arrangers and producers) to pay them some part of their work giving a them % of my future profits as an artists. Like a manager earns. So I'll see if they really have faith in that contacts and in his own work.
-
Oliver I could be wrong but I think they're conning you. They sound a bit similar to the `Vanity Publishers' that batten on literary writers. Tell them no dice. Cheers Sam.

Hey Sam! I'm glad to be back. I've decided to make space in my busy schedule of doing nothing very important to visit the boards more often. Oh, I was meaning toask, you know the Beatles festival held in Liverpool every August? Is it any good or just hype? I've heard tons about it and would love to drag all my friends there to continue their education next summer. I thought you might be able to reccomend it/tell me it's not worth it, whatever. At the moment I'm celebrating finishing off the plan for my essay by wasting time on the internet at the library before going back to watch Pirates of The Caribbean on DVD at my boyfriend's flat. I'm about to collapse with fatigue actually, we went to a late-night coffee shop in the city and sat there until 2am last night discusing the finer points of Descartes' philosophy of sense experience. Aaaahh ... student life. All my loving! 'Beaky xxxooo

Hi Christina I'm glad you caught the Travel Channel show. It gets repeated this Thursday at 8 & 11.00pm Eastern. Get that computer fixed !1 Love and hugs Sam.
-
Hi Sam - I caught you on the travel channel too. It made me want to go back to Liverpool even more!
-
Hey Buckbeaktbabie. You're studying wha' lar ?? My Dad always advised me never to use words I can't spell, heh, heh. Re Liverpool Beatle Week...it's absolutely fabulous. You'll love it. Best hotel to book is The Feathers in Mount Pleasant. Cheap and cosy. And I'll be there and so will American English. See you then mate. Cheers Sam.
-
Hi Swaying Daisy. Glad you caught it. We'll all be at Liverpool Beatle Week next year. Seee you then. Love and hugs Sam.

I'm gonna say no them. Unless they change "their ways" and accept to record and arrange my songs for half their price and a % of my future profits. That "half of his price" would be their costs.
So if they really are able to give my music to the record companies they will accept. And they don't they won't accept. I can't be wrong I think. BTW, I've read
that all the big world record companies (Emi, Sony, Warner, Universal...) are gonna become only one.
That would be the 80% of the world sales. I don't know how this would affect to artist. And to customers.
-
Hi Oliver If all those major labels became one it would be the kiss of death for all new and aspiring artistes. Any monopoly has to be bad for competition. It puzzles me why there is only one Monopolies Commission, heh, heh. Goodnight everyone. Sam.
