Hi Sam i'll be doing some more voting! Hope you have a great weekend.
-
Sam Leach:
Hi Christina (Harleyblues) Nice to have you back again. I've been a little iffy with a chest cold. BTW we need votes badly...we're slipping down the table. Only 4 votes in the last three days...ugggh. Love and hugs Sam.
We're 10 votes away but it last on the 19th, so we have a lot of time. Anyway even the Beatles had on #2 single once in a while Sam.
-
I haven t heard that song yet Sara. Mine would be Give Me Love. What Is Life,When We Was Fab or All Those YEars Ago.
-
Thanks Starr, Oliver & Paulfan. I'd meant to say only 14 votes in the last 4 days. We'll get there. I'm almost better so should be posting tomorrow. Cheers Sam.
-
Paulfan For Harrison songs I'd vote for Cheer Down, Poor Little Girl, Beware of Darkness, What is Life, Devils Radio. Cheers! Mike
-
So many good Harrison tunes and so hard to choose! Just like the Beatles its hard to choose just one tune. They're all GREAT!

21st Century Paul:
Someone close to me has told me that well... those 19th century painters like Van Gogh never had success but they enjoyed painting. Maybe I should change my nick to 21st Century Vincent (Van Gogh)... But I don't have in my mind that all my songs would be released when I die. So anyway I keep doing thingies about that. Very soon some of my songs will sound in my city's radio. I only have to change the vocals to take out those loud "P"s, you know. I don't think that the radio thing will make any result for me. It's just doing it. But well I remember one band of Spain from my town. They put their record in our city's town radio during a day or so. And now they are sucessful even in Europe, MTV sometimes. They have sold around 2 milion records, and they're from my town. Well, when I was boy I stayed many time in the house of the family of one of the two guys of the band. The next crazy or brilliant idea I've had... is... well here in Spain people use to put advertisement in walls in the streets selling flats. And they get a lot of calls. Why not to...? You know. In Barcelona city, there is a radio stations-streets, and a record stores-street. It's a kind of weird system... "Artist wants to be heard" etc. But what do I have to lose? Sam was superb in putting ads everywhere promoting his shows. I know that's not the same... but I have the not-shame to do it.
Well, Oliver, don't you fret. *hahahah, fret! * I believe that you should pimp yourself...*how about...Promote yourself * Just do it. There's no shame in it, Oliver. For me, music is just fun. I can make into a career if I really want to. Perhaps not as a performer really, but as something else...like to be a teacher. I mean, music and teaching. Great combo! I just want to improve my music skills, not sell more albums and such. I just wanna play. Is this the reason why your playing? You just wanna play. If it's not, look into yourself. *My advice is obviously not the best advice...* *I'm posting again, Sam. Don't you worry! *
-
Sam, You're welcome and yes we will get there if we keep voting. Mike,I agree that What Is Life is a great song and I'll have to chek the other songs you mentioned. Sara, You are right aboout so many good Harrison songs that it is hard to choose and so many good Beatle songs that it is hard to pick one. I can pick my favorite Beatle album though. The White album which has great songs such as While My Guitar Gently Weeps,Helter Skelter,Back In The U,S.S.R.,Glass Onion,Birthday and Why DOn't We Do IT In The Road.

Hey, LOL. Well it's the same old thing. Of course I want to play... and sing... and compose... Well, let's forget false modesty. The best songwriter/singer ever of Spain (Serrat) says that he doesn't like modesty, even arrogance it's better for him. For me modesty it's a kind of submission. If I know that I'm 100 why I got to say that I'm 80 or maybe 90... What happens to me it's that many times I wrote a song, and I realize that it could be classic. I think that "That's the world that I belong to" is as good as "Your Loving Flame", that's it (or "That Train Don't Stop Here Anymore" from Elton John). And I have dozens more even better. And Paul too. Then I turn on the radio or the TV. And see that 99 % of what I see is worse that what I do. I get both the feeling of ambition and wanting to share my stuff. I read about Oasis' Noel Gallagher thinking similar about the radio songs "I could do better than this, what the..." etc. If I check the songs I've wrote being only 26... I think that only Paul McCartney has written so many good songs at that age. And If I had to choose a catalogue at the age of 26. I'd choose mine. And talking about the whole lifetime songs Paul tops me in great songs. But I think he's the only one. As I think not Lennon, nor Elton John, nor Freddie Mercury top my stuff. Only Paul, but I'm only 26. But... Now I'm stucked in a point where I can hardly write but trying to promote myself of so... I can't do both things at the same time, don't know why. Art or business. Only if I stop doing "thingies" to promote myself I could write again as usual. But that's like giving up. And I don't want to give up without trying anything before. Even very weird ideas.
-
Hi Christina (Harleyblues). Thanks for your kind comments...they're fully appreciated. But the Beatles have been good for me in many other ways. Regarding your stuff I did say the time is wrong to deliver it just yet. Maybe next year MPL will accept some stuff. Then I'll try again. Love and hugs Sam.

Hi Sam Will try to get back in the habit of voting -- just had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out -- so have been a little out of sorts. Last night you were third -- I tried to get on the site today but for some reason had a problem, will try again shortly. Looking forward to your movie sounds exciting. Cheers! Mike

False modesty...*I have that, don't I? ..I know I'm not the best...but I'm going to be working on my music stuff and such* A lot of things on the radio really sucks. But, some of the crap I've heard REALLY sucks and a lot I can think of can top it. But, it's my age group that is doing it, and the sad thing is it's planting a sterotype onto me I just cannot shake. Stupid MTV and crap like that! *nothing I can do* I'm glad to see you have a lot of self confidence in yourself like that, Oliver! *I wish I had that... * But, as long as you make it for yourself as well. That's the key. Make your own sound and eventually others will follow. Dont' try to please everyone, but please yourself and you seem to be doing a very good job of that! Just keep promoting yourself. Have something else on the side, but keep at it! *I'm going to be doing the same, if ever the time comes for me* mikeskapla, sorry to hear that you have gotten your 4 wisdom teeth pulled. I had 8 adult teeth pulled in my lifetime and I have had braces for 4 years now...and a rootcanal...*shakes head* I think they are trying to make sure I really don't need it. They are giving me space in my mouth or something...*I think they are afraid I will faint or something on that table* I have had a lot of friends get their's and I'm happy not to have it...yet.

Hey Sam and all have a great week, had to bump this up, since i was posting again, see you all later.
-
Christina (Harleyblues). First off I didn't try to Choke John. It was in fun but people have to read the book to see why...as you know. And the Beatles, especially Paul, have been good to me in many ways. which are between me and them. You're making it look as though they OWE me which is NOT the case. You're making my relationship seem negative which is hardly the case. They have always thought very highly of me. Even the King's Dock thing was nothong to do with me, I just got swept up by security but you were critical of Paul over that which was totally wrong. Geoff has well appologised for that. I know you meant well but you were out pf order in that issue. Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Hi Mike Nice to see you back and thanks for the voting. Sorry about your teeth. That must have been painful. Cheers Sam
-
HI Sara Thanks for the bump...keep us at #1, Hi Kathy. I'll keep you all posted if the Film comes off. Love and hugs Sam.
