Oh man i'm going to have so much to catch up on when i get home from work tomorrow lol. Sam must think we're nuts here lol!! Sam couldn't you picture this with Davy Jones and Paul McCartney in a boxing match? lol. Davy couldn't reach Paul's face!! haha!
Starr, I know you did not mean this for me, but I could never see either Davy Jones Or Paul in a boxing match. They are both too nice to engage in that kind of behaviour... Cheers! Sam C.

Hi Samcat. That's amazing that you hadn't heard of the Beatles until 1967. But I'm sure you've made up for it since. BTW we won again quite easily which makes it 12 from the last 14. Let's keep it going. Cheers. Sam.
Sam, It is true, and I am sure there are others like me. Well, that is about all I heard about when I moved to England in 1967. I still remember the Daily Mirror when it came out Paul Quits The Beatles. I still have the clippings my mother cut out of John and Yoko when they were getting all of their publicity in those days. Great, so we just keep it going. Cheers! Sam C.

My last message today will have to be a mass post. Samcat: David Seaman has finally retired but he's had a great career and we should remember his great work.....not his gaffes. Kathy: Keep doing your homework...and drink some wine. But not too much. Vinny: Welcome back mate. Linda (Maccascruff): You're welcome and thanks for your support. We start a new table evry 10 days so keep voting whenever you can. Christina: I don't sit in gardens at this time of year. Too cold...brrrrr. Starr: But not as cold as Wisconsin...right ?? Goodnight to everyomne else...back late tomorrow. Cheers. Sam.
Sam, My short term memory must be going. How did I bring up David Seaman? Thanks in advance. Cheers. Sam C.

Starr:
Hey Paulfan maybe one day the Monkees will be as close friends as the Beatles are, but remember the Beatles knew each other since they were kids and the Monkees were thrown together to be a band like the Beatles for TV, but they became a band in every sense of the word, even Davy has said they dont hang out much outside of work.
I don't know Starr, after Mike Nesmith bailed out of that last tour that to promote their album (JUSTUS) I don't believe there is much communication between the other three and Nesmith. Also, if you notice, Davy Jones will not participate in the song That was then, This is now... I suspect that at one time Davy and Mickey Dolenz were tight outside the band, but I don't think any of them keep contact on a regular basis outside the framework of the Monkees. Their fellowship lasted as long as the band did in the 60s. And I loved them in the 60s. I heard them before I heard the Beatles.. Best, Sam C.

Mass post coming up Oliver Nice idea doing it for `Adopt a minefield'. Mike I'll let you know later in the Spring. Remind me when you've got you schedule. But I'll definitely be here for Liverpool Beatle Week late August as American English are playing there this year. Samcat How will Brazil beat us...and Michael Owen now ?? And Stephen Gerard will be playing next time. Cheers all. Sam.

Hi Samuel, You are probably right about Paul and Davey being too nice to box. I saw a picture of Davey in boxing gloves once in a magazine and I think there was an episode of the Monkees where he boxed if I'm correct so the thought of him and Paul boxing occurred to me. Now that you mentioned it I do remember Davey not being in the That Was Then This Now video.

Sam, After the USA, The England cup team is the one I pull for,; however, had the USA made the cup in 1970, I would have been pulling for England in Mexico. I would love to get hold of that song that they all sang back in 1970....Back Home...I loved that song, and I have fond memories of Football in Britain in those days in the 60s.... How is the screenplay coming? Cheers, Sam C.

Hi Samuel good to see ya!! hehe i know i agree with you when you said about Davy and Paul boxing how neither would want to get messed up plus they both don't seem like the type who would fight you know? They seem more like ones who would walk away. When i saw the Monkees in concert back in 2001 Davy did sing on the song Then and Now on stage!! He'll do anything to get more stage time!! As far as i know Davy and Micky have been the closest out of the years, but still they dont see each other off stage much. Davy's busy raising and breeding his horses down in Florida where he lives most of the year, and between his solo tours and spending time at his other home in Pennsylvania, he's busy, Micky is busy with his directing career/broadway so they probably don't have time to hang out much. Most of the problems was with Davy and Peter Tork that last tour. I hope one day they can all put aside their differences and do one more tour as the 4 of them. Hey Paulfan, i have stood next to Davy Jones and he is about 5'2. He says in boots he's 5'3 i'm 5'3 and i was taller than him when i stood next to him!! He'll always be my first crush out of anyone.

Hi Mike, I remember we discussed about some Beatle song and you talked about that book who tells everything bout every Beatle song. It could sound hilarious. But there's a thread with 200 replies or so discussing who sing the "aaah ahh ahhh" dreamy vocals in A Day In The Life. (The ones after "I went into a dream..."). Some say it's John, some say's Paul. I know that there's a lot of pages bout A Day In The Life in the book. Well, if you check who's the singer let us know. Please.

You are correct, Paulfan. There was such an episode with Davy with boxing gloves.
