Thanks to you, I called Cavern Tours with no problem and reserved a room in the Adelphi. Do you have any suggestions for the best route to Liverpool. The girl said to fly into Manchester and take the train. August seems to far away. Guess I'll need to bring an empty suitcase to pack all the Beatle stuff I buy. Peace!

HI, Starr...still about " The Monkees discussion "... I dont mean they can play decently NOW, I mean in the 60´s...I bet they had good studio musicians to do the job at that time..if it is to compare with Beatles then I will compare Real Madrid with Hibernian...heh heh Sam, the books didn´t come yet...maybe the postman didn´t finish reading them.. I´m sure tomorrow it will be here BTW, where are those guys who intended to group some songs of the people in this thread ???? Let´s thing again on the idea idea
-
Hi Cesar Oliver (20thCentury Paul) is doing the CD. Let me know when they arrive. Hibernian ?? Cheers Sam.
-
cbimbi, hi im one of them, vinny,do you want to join us ....go to the musicians corner....we do all our discussions there ..thanks vinny

Hi Diana (Dmmedic). Where are you flying from?? The best thing to do is have a bus pick you up and take you back when you leave. A firm that I use called Murrays are very good and reliable....and cheap. Approx. $50 return trip from the airport to the Adelphi and back. Let me know your flight details and I'll book it for you with them. Their direct phone number is. 011 44 151 480 8359. (ask for Paul). Love and hugs Sam.

Hey Sam have a good day tomorrow, it's supposed to get really cold here, 10 below zero for high plus wind chills in the 30-50 below zero mark, not looking foward to that!!
-
Hi Sara (Starr). I think I'd look for a reason to stay of work tomorrow. Goodnight. Love and hugs Sam
-
I may be leaving from Florida or New York City (in the States). Still don;t know who the second person is that's going with me. They keep changing their mind. When you say take the bus, I assume you mean from the Manchester Airport. Thanks for your offer to help. I'll let you know, if I have any problems. "Ask for Paul" Hmmm.... What a coincidence. Wish that was the number of Bea's father. Have a good night.
-
Hi Sam i wish i could hehe!! I only work 9am-1pm not too bad i just hope i'm not in the drive thru window the whole time like i was today. The wind is just starting to pick up now! Back to the doctor's tomorrow also.
-
Diana (Dmmedic) If there is two of you the return fare would be about $60 which as you can see works out far cheaper. Sara (Starr) Then wrap up well. Love and higs, Sam.
-
Hi Sam! oh yes, i'll be as warm as i can i have to wait for the bus in the morning, but i don't leave till last minute so i won't have to wait too long!!
-

Sam Leach:
Hi Sara (Starr). Whilst I enjoyed the fun of watching The Monkees I have to take exception to you saying thay can do anything The Beatles do. To quote John McEnroe..."You cannot be serious". Heh, heh, we're the Monkees. Love and hugs. Sam.
Sam, With all due respect both guitarists for the Monkees were quite good and a match with George and John in playing. The real writer of the group was Nesmith who was very innovative with Elephant Parts, but then again the Monkees were probably the closest thing to MTV in those days. Then again both George and John were far more prolific than Nesmith, but Nesmith did more than his share of innovation. Even Head is ahead of its' time. In some ways it was much better than Let It Be. As for the drummer, I have to believe that Mickey Dolenz is a bit better over all than Ringo. For sweet sounds, Davy Jones could really execute, but no one could compare with JPs mastery of composition and ability to play just about any instrument there was. Big advantage to the Beatles. Cheers, Sam

Hi Samuel interesting points there!! Davy has a great voice still!! Their movie Head sure is odd, but i heard it was named the one of the best psycadellic films of all time, i don't understand it myself but it's an enjoyable film to watch. Micky wasn't even a drummer when he joined the band, he was a guitar player, but they didnt have a drummer so he was chosen cuz the other didn't do it!! They're still a fun band to listen too!! I have all their cd's, i hope to see Davy do a solo show sometime soon!!

The Monkees were nothing compared to the Beatles in the 60's. I saw the Monkees in concert in probably 1966 and it was nothing like watching or listening to the Beatles. So I guess I am with Sam waiting for the Monkees fans to come after me.
The Monkees had some great albums, the last I really likes was The Birds, The Bees and the Monkees, which was their last big album. Unfortunately, unlike many groups in the sixties, the Beatles never faded, they split apart. For a few short years from 1966 to 1968, they gave them a run for their money in the charts, while the Beach Boys actually overtook the Beatles in the UK in 1967. Best, Sam C.

Hi Tashi, how are you doing? Yes Sam I'm trying to be nice to you. I think I'm following in Paul's footsetpes of diplomacy now

Hi, Samuel this great joke of Monkees been better musicians than the Beatles are really funny we could start a new forum on this P re the musicians corner there are very good songs and musicians there and I began to understood that my songs are more for " bathroom " than garage bands heh heh maybe even the " smell " oops
