Paulfan, do you think Sara will agree with our views ???
-
tell me your views and let me go from there.
-
I don't know Cesar. As Sara said tell her our views. nobody likes being called a square or a nerd which is why kids go out and do things they shouldn't do. Our views are very conservatice. I don't believe in smoking cigarettes, getting druno or doing drugs or cursing too much. I believe sex should be saved for the right person. I also like the way things were in the 50s ecept for the segregation part. Sara you say you love The Brady Bunch, that is the way we should be in real life even though it may be far fetched. What I mean to say is that even though we make mistakes we should learn from them including myself. That was what was thought in the old days which isn't being taught now. Now it is like money is everything, foul language is okay, being sexy is everything, violnce sells on television and in the movies and music and old people are too square or uptight. No one is perfect but values and morals aren't being thought like they used to be.
-
Sara, the reason why we aren't like The Brady Bunch or The Cleavers is because we are too selfish in real life. I feel society has become very shallow and superficial. I hope i don't become that way.
-
i know life isnt like the Brady Bunch everyone lives their lives their own way, i am not here to judge anyone by how you live, that is up to you, just cuz i like the brady bunch doesnt mean i live my life that way.
-
believe it or not i agree with most of what you say. nobody is perfect and i dont expect anyone to be like the Bradys.
-
Sara of course no one is like The Bradys. What I mean to say is that show was made to teach people values and morals. PEople say we shouldn't impose our morals on them but they do the same to us. I guess you are right people should live whatever liives they wnat even if it is messed up.
-
that is right, you live your life the way it is meant to be, no one can choose what is going to happen to them. Sam isnt it interesting what happened to your thread?
-
Sara you are right. IF people mess up their lives it is their fault. The ones who live differently from us try to make us live like them also. I don't think it is just conservatives that impose morals on people but liberals as well. In school if we get good grades we get called goody goodies or nerds or if we try to abstain from partying we get called squares. Let them aprty if they want to not me. If they don't want me imposing my morals on them then they shouldn't on me or others either.
-
Hope we didnt scare Sam off! lol! Hey Sam how are you today?
-
Hi Sara & Giri (Starr & Paulfan). No you didn't scare me off. Despite my name I'm not a Vampre and have to sleep sometimes, heh, heh. Yes it is nice when the thread digresses a little. And what you and Giri say is real interesting and symptomatic of our times. I recall the Rev Billy Graham once saying. "The Beatles are just a passing fad and will fade in time." I'm an admirer of his, although he was a different Faith, but he was wrong that time. The Beatles for great for Americans and time has proven that. We all have different paths through Life and we must help each other along them. Giri...I fully agree wioth your viewpoint but I wasn't calling you a `square' for real...just teasing you a little. I'll be back tomorrow as I have loads to do today. Cheers all.
-
Sam, I am sorry I misunderstood you. I don't mnd you teasing me. The only thing is through a computer it is ahrd to tell when a person is joking or not. IF I saw you in person I probably could tell. Computers do have a way of getting on people's nerves because sometimes they give you problems. Don't worry Sam I'm not perfect,I have made alot of mistakes in my life. Talking bakc to my aprents, cursing when I was younger, eating too much junk food calling a girl ugly when I was a teenager and so on. Yes the beatles were good for us and a breath of fresh air afeter John F.Kennedy's death. The music today is about violence which I don't understand because people in the 60s were against it and now they support it. YEs we should help each other in life. I don't want to bully you or anybody else to agree with my viewpoints. I don't wnat to come out that way. I'm more interested in explaining myself then being right all the time.
-
Sam Billy Graham was definitely worng. I'm pretty sure he is a beatles fan now. I know he once said I believe I will see Elvis in heaven. As for girls I have been told if you like a girl only for her looks then you miss out on a good relationship. I even asked my friend when he first met his wife is she pretty, and he told me not to expect ehr to be the actress type because he found them to be fake and not to make good wives. I myself have had problems with controlling my lust. My boss tells me that the good looking girls at work distract me so I have trouble doing my work sometimes. I guess my friend was right when he said don't go for a girl just because of ehr looks but because she is a nice person. My cousing also said what if the pretty girl is mean and the fat girl is nice? that is what taught me that there was mroe to a girl than looks. Sorry for stirring up things on here. I hope I don't do that again.
-
Hey Sam hows it going today? good to see you posting! Have fun on the tour!
