Hopefully, my browser situation is sorted out soon -- this web site so far has been a pain for me -- 75% of the time my responses don't go through and 25% they do. Sam, it looks like Strawberry Fields and a few others -- I don't recall that site previously in this contest -- are putting up a fight -- but you are hanging in there well. Cheers! Mike
-
Yes we will Sam.
-
Hi Mike Nice to have you get through. Are you using Internet Explorer? That makes it easier. Re these other sites; there is something odd about how they're getting votes because one of them didn't eevn have a voting link...so how did they get votes ?? I've made inquiries and I'll let you know. Maybe someone was getting fed up of us winning all the time and decided to `rig' the votes....I just don't know. Chat with you soon. Love to Lisa. Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Giri (Paulfan). I called you `Paul' in my earlier post. I'll bet you were made up. Cheers. Sam.
-
I guess so Sam. That is funny that you called me Paul. I wish I was him though. Giri is my real name and you knwo why I use the name Paulfan. I was just watching Access Hollywood and they showed the greatest bands of all time and guess who was number one? You got it The Beatles! they had an interview with a fan who remembered when they first became popular in 1964 and with Paul and Yoko and Ringo. Tt showed George from 1977 with Ravi Shankar. They even played songs like love ME Do,Yesterday, I Saw Her Standing There,Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and In My Life. I also saw an interview with them where a reporter asked them what do you says about pop music being put down that people say that Day Tripper was about a prostitute and Norweign Wood is about a lesbian and Paul replied we were just trying to write songs about prostitutes and lesbians. That was funny and I have the cd of that interview. IT is called The Beatles West Coast Invasion.
-
Hello Giri (Paulfan). You should have said "In 1964 when The Beatles became popular in AMERICA". We in Liverpool were raving over them in Jan 1961. The rest of Britain caught on two years later in 1963. But they will always be the most popular band of all time. That's a fact !! Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Sam Internet Explorer often works but I perfer using my other browser -- but I guess Internet Explorer it will have to be. Switching topics, do you have a favorite Macca, Lennon, Harrison solo album? Just curious! Mine would be Macca Band On The Run, Lennon Imagine, Harrison All things Must Pass. Cheers! Mike
-
Mike. Thye are all my favourite solo albums. What can I say ?? You left me no choice, heh, heh. Cheers. Sam.
-
Sam OK, then how about top 3 Beatle albums, mine would be 1. Abbey Road 2. The White Album 3. Revolver Cheers! Mike
-
Hi Mike Okay.... Rubber Soul. Abbey Road. Revolver. We seem to have similar tastes but it amazes me you don't have Rubber Soul there. That's been voted the best albium in many World-wide polls. Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Sam I like Rubber Soul, too. However, that's the difficult thing with the Beatles -- they have so many great albums to choose from. Some say that both of us excluding Sgt. Pepper would be an oversight, etc. I've recently seen Revolver picked by some music critics as the best of all time -- I've heard the same for Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper. Ringo's favorite is the White Album. So, I guess it all depends on taste and who you talk to. Cheers! Mike
-
Sam I would loved to have said that except I wasn't on t.v. You are lucky to have worked with them. I would love to have heard what they sounded like in the early days. I always thought they looked cooler in black leather jackets than ties and jackets. Mike as for my favorite beatles album it would be the White Album. I love While My Guitar Gently Weeps and the way Paul sang HElter Skleter. This album shows Paul can really rock! I wish I could see video clips of Paul singing Helter Skelter also. I've never seen him perform that.
-
Paulfan I agree the White Album really rocks & ity's so diverse, too -- it works on many moods. Cheers! Mike
-
Paulfan What are your three favorite Macca solo albums?
-
Mike I like Band On The Run,Wings Greatest and All The Best to name a few. I'd say Besides Band On The Run not counting the greatest hits and All The Best, Pipes OF pEace and Tug Of War. Wings Over America is a great album if a live album counts.
-
My picks would be 1. Band On the Run 2. Ram 3. Tug of War Agree, Wings Across America is amazing.
-
Great!!! I finally found where all of you were hiden I missed you all till tomorrow, off to bed now

Sam Leach:
Hi Jen `Very customary' now That is FUNNEE !! I'm going to tell Gerry that first chance I can get. Your hubby might hear from Gerry's lawyer, heh, heh. If it is funny you should see how Brazilian Pop groups in the 60´s used to sing ... " spina a-ha days night " I,m also a Pacermakers fanatic but I cannot find a good site about them... Yeas I remember vividly how everybody got crazy by here when they´re movie film was shown... [ some years ago .... " what a drag it is getting ooold " ] cheers
-
Mike your choices sound great. Wings Over America is definitely a great album. I wish I could have been to see that tour except I was too small and not yet a Macca fan. That would happen seven years alter when Say Say Say came out.
