Hi Mike and Samcat. It's always been the case with many Beatle and solo Beatle albums. They are understood and liked the more they're played. Magical Mystery Tour was slagged when it first came out. Not long afterwards people were raving over it. And Mike Sam #3 isn't going to change his opinion no matter what. 99% of us agree with you so lets agree to differ with Sam C on this one. Cheers. Sam.

Sam, Actually I remember Magical Mystery Tour (having seen it when I was in England)being slagged, but the main problem with the film is that we saw it in black and white instead of colour as it was intended to be. I loved the movie though. The album too. Cheers, Sam C.

Hi again Sam #3 Yes and I'll bet those critics gave themselves a severe kick up the butt eventually. Which is the deserved fate for any critic of The Beatles.... ....or McCartney, Lennon, Harrison and Starr. Cheers. Sam.

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Our favourite Sam is down by two votes! We must get him back to first place! Please go and vote! Vote often and legally! Best, Sam C.

Sam, The film itself was actually used in college film classes. I actually liked it when it first came out. But you must remember about opinions....every one has got one...just like John said in I am the Walrus... Cheers, Sam C.

Hi Sam C Differing opinions is the spice of life and is usually healthy. Except when it's given by a Decca A & R man !! Cheers Sam.
-
I have grown to love all of Macca's work, with the Beatles and solo. Yes, some of it had to grow on me, but usually only a couple of songs on an album. Off to vote for Sam.
-
Thanks Linda (Maccascruff). Yes that's what I meant. We'd all grow to love ALL the album. Thanks for the votes. Love and hugs Sam.

Good morning Hi Sam, I wasn't able to visit the site over the weekend but I was wondering-did anyone guess the Chuck Berry song you were thinking about? To be honest, I was never a big fan of his so that's probably why I didn't have a clue. Love and Hugs, ~Tashi

I voted, just to make sure that you get your help, Sam. Yes, I'm bloody insane, too. It's okay. Not too much to update about myself this week, other than it's bloody freezing out here. This morning it was -47 C with windchill...brrr...and yet they expected my brother to still go to school for his exam. I'm pretty happy that my exam isn't till Wednesday...perhaps it will warm by then. Revolution In The Head was a great read. I think I have read it about a month or so ago...great Macca love, eh? Other than that, maccascruff, I agree with you. I love all of Paul's stuff, Solo and Beatles, and Wings, too. Till then, I'll post more later...
-
Ji Tashi The Chuck Berry song was `Too Much Monkey Businees'. Which was the case here at that time, heh, heh. Love and hugs Sam.
-
Hi Kathy. You don't have to be m,ad to post on this thread...but it helps. One thing about chatting with someone as young as you is the fact that I can throw some old jokes at you. Love and hugs. sam.
-
Hi Christina (Harelyblues). Reading back I noticed I missed one of your posts...sorry. Where are you now ? Love and hugs Sam.

Hi Sam, These questions are kind of silly but I was just wondering if Paul was a hippie, and remember how I was sad last week, did John ever cry or did you ever see him cry? I just wondered since me and Sara talked about guys having trouble showing emotions and I know Paul does bu I was wondering if John ever did?
-
Hi Giri (Paulfan). Paul was a latent hippie I feel. He liked the basic idea but also preferred to be normal as well. To explain better he liked the freedom of being a hippie and also enjoyed being conservative when he wanted to. it seems John cried when his Mother died but I only saw him almost cry once on stage at a show in Southport near Liverpool. A girl at the back asked him to sing `If you want to make a fool of somebody.' John seemed to choke on some of the words and looked very upset. So did the girl. This was before he was married to Cynthia. Cheers. Sam.

Hi Sam, Thanks for the answer. I like Paul's idea of being a hippie but having some conservative views as well. He balanced it out which I think is the right way to do it somwehre int he middle. I say the 70s was the perfect decade for him since it was a combination of clean cut with hippie. I think paul's type of hippie is the hippies I like. As for John I'm surrpised eh did cry. I wonder why he almost cried on stage? Was it because he was thinking of his mother or was he touched bv the song? John probably cried in private and not in front of others. I asked because us guys don't like to cry in public and John put on a tough guy front in public to hidde his insecurities as you say.

Paul, the latent hippie...Very true indeed and all the more reason to respect his thoughts on my part.

Well said Magical Msytery Girl.

Paulfan. The point I was trying to make was there seemed to be something between John and the girl who made the request. Obviously whatever it was it upset them both. Cheers Sam.
