In terms of Macca and charity If you look Macca up in a music book I have which gives a little short blurb about artists -- it mentions him as being a big giver to charity -- doesn't mention Gilmour at all in that regard. I've read too that Macca doesn't want publicity when he gives to charity -- clearly Gilmour does want the PR. Having said all that don't mean to pick on Gimour he's friends with Macca -- i am guessing he just wanted to tout himself a little and might have been frustrated that Macca didn't give to his specific charity. Macca I understand likes to give on his own terms. Keep in mind, that Macca met Heather via a charity cause. In his 89 tour, he touted causes such as Friends of the Earth -- this tour he did the Landmines thing including a million dollar show at someone's home which he did on the priviso that all the money would go to charity. Not too much more you can ask for Macca on this issue, really. Cheers! Mike

Hi Sam and all just giving this a bump i'll have to catch up on the threads here and see what you're all talking about lol!!
-
If Paul announced it when he gave to charity he wouldn't be a musician... He would be a politician! He doesn't go showing off about it. But as we see for Sam's examples he does it. I remember the Off The Ground World Tour. I thought that 60-70 % of the income went to different charities. If Paul wouldn't gave to charities we hardly will see him associated to the image of Greenpeace, Peta, Friends of The Earth, Adopt A Minefield, etc. If they relate to Paul it's because they know for good about him, I guess.

Hi Oliver. You're absolutely right. Joe is in the same League as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix. And `Blues Deluxe' is my favorite also. He almost sets his guitar alight on some of his riffs. BTW nice to hear from you again. How's your compilation CD coming along? Cheers Sam.
We have 8 out of the 12 songs. So I guess we'll finish it in a couple of weeks. BTW, possible profits will be for charity. So people buying will be people donating including ourselves buying our own CDs. I guess we're "announcing" it too. :-/. But well if the income of a record is for a particular cause, I think we do well saying it. Personally I'm gonna buy several copies and them selling them for the same cost to my friends. So we will be donating money everyone. (instead of burning CDs like I could do)
-
Hi Sam and Oliver, Im happy this charity cd is up to 8 songs....all profits are going to Paul and Heatrhers charity. Ive given 2 spiritual numbers one is inspired from Psalms of David The Lord is my shepherd and the other one a folk song is called a scent of hope is in the air.........About a struggling mother and child...........similar to what happens in these mine field countries when families lose there fathers sons daughters for support.... Oliver how much does cd baby take and what price are we going to sell this album....i think we should sell it for 12 US plus postage and handling.. Also forget about taking Beatles albums for art work ....this is madness...vinny
-
Hey, your songs are nice. CD Baby takes 4 $ CD per album. And cd manufacturers take 1$-2$ per album. So we have the rest of the income as "profit". I don't know the price we should have. We have to agree about it. I think that 12$ it's a normal prize for a 12 songs 45 minutes album. I don't know much about prizes. I'll agree with the common agreement. BTW, great that many songs are inspired or related with Adopt A Minefield or its concept. Your both songs, and "Crazy World" from Macca Maniac, my 2 songs and even "Mechanical Pie". And possibly "Little Boy" from Lisa's band.

Sam is up by eight votes! Let us pour it on and make it a landslide for him! Cheers! Sam C

Thanks Oliver, Is there any other news about tours? I wish i wasn't going on a cruise to the Carribean next Christmas, because then i could save my money for that Paris package. Oh well, I am sure there will be more tour dates. How is everyone doing this fine evening. Its another important Beatles day, for me anyways. Their second appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, and i am going to watch it on the DVD. I also got onto the radio and requested to hear the Beatles, so they played Daytripper. Very very nice. Although, my vioce sounded horrific, i called as soon as i woke up and turned on my radio... Sam, I read your letter to the Echo and i am glad they published it. George does deserve more respect than what i hear was paid to him. TTYL all.
Tour dates? I'm SO not going to France, you know! A LITTLE far.... Anyways, I hope your doing fine. COOL! You got on the radio, too! I'm not the offical Beatles lover there pretty much. Only becuase I'm amusing...and they can predict me, and I'm getting used to my voice on the radio now. It should be better. For sure! 4th time or 5th should be good. Join the club! Wicked to hear about your letter, Sam. I do hope George gets more respect....he deserves more of it, of course. *huggles to George where he may be...* I like to have Macca out there a bit more. I'm making a shirt in Comm tech (which is Communication Technologies) and I'm making a MaccaWear Est.1985 t-shirt. I'm screen printing it. It's really cool. As soon as it's done. Should be by Friday at the lastest, I'll provide a link for it. The coolest thing is it's so subtile, only the fans will understand, or people in the know. Like my friends. I hope everyone has a great day...I've been trying to catch up, as you now can see.
-
Catching up...not quite done. Well, I have heard about the defence against Heather feather (It's a good nickname. She seems very light in heart) and I was floored this morning at 6:50am in the morning! Half awake, but was quite upset at the tabloids. I'm glad Paul did that. Shows what he's made of. I have a feeling he wouldn't marry anyone just for their looks, they also have to have a great heart. And softness, I'm sure. I'm glad to hear about Paul's CD coming up. I can't wait!

Thanks Samule. Tashi, I did see some of Howard's movie private parts and in it there was one scene where his wife got mad at him for talking about their personal life on the air. I've been told that he is pretty nice in real life and doesn't behave like that in private. Anyway I do agree with you that what he talks about is garbage on the air and therefore he can't ahve a private life if he goes out and talks about his eprsonal life on the air. I do wonder if his wife left him because of his behavior on the radio. I hear he made fun of PRincess Diana after she died and Andrew Dice Clay challenged him to a showdown at MAdsion Square Garden and Howard didn't show up. The Diceman said sure he does the chinaman jokes and other joeks but when it comes to Princess Diana who had two boys to grow up eh drew the line. Howard must be very insecure with himself in order to put others down. He needs a life. I'm also glad Paul doesn't resort to his level and talk dirty on the air.
-
Kathy... I agree, France is a little far away haha. I could never afford it anyway. I really do hope that he doesnt leave out Canada. I know its alot to do, that is trying to please all of your fans, but its impossible. I just hope he decides it would be nice to go to Canada. I also got on the radio again today, but only because i wanted to know when the Aerosmith tickets go on sale. They broadcasted my vioce, and it is getting better!!! haha! TTYL everyone! Have an awesome night! Peace

Well, I understand Stern is now divorced (was that a big surprise!) but I never had much respect for many shock jocks, and that would include Imus. I do recall Paul chatting with Sharon Osborne, gently teasing her about her language.
-
Sam is up in the voting this morning, too. I have read somewhere that Paul quietly donates to many charities and I believe it. He doesn't need to publicize it. It is his business. I won a calendar from MPL on another list. I finally won a contest!
-
Samuel, Yes Howard is divorced now. I remember once in the newspaper he was praised for being faithful to his wife. I'm glad he at least said nice things about Paul. A guy I know works with people who listen to Howard Stern and he tells them don't you guys have anything better to listen to and they say Howard Stern is cool man. HE repleid Hwoard Stern is an idiot. I don't like shock jocks much either. When I was younger I may have tolerated it a bit more but now I don't since my best friend has a child. That is funny that Paul gently teased Sharon Osbourne about her language. I don't liek the Bobv and Tom show either they are also shock jocks too.
-
Maccascruff... I believe he does it too. Becuase, if you think about it, if he was to publicly make it clear that he is such a good man and donates to charity, then i can see people putting him down for that. The tabloids would be after him again, making him out to be some arrogant man. Im glad that he doesn't make it a big deal. It is probably more satisfying for him if he does it personally. Peace

Hi Tashi, Are you stylegurrl04 on Jroie's site? If so I sent ypu a pm. Please reply if you read it. I can't believe people on ehr site defend the tabloids. The nerve of some people. Anyway people who beleive the tabloids show how intelligent they really are.

Hi Giri I hope you are doing well. I haven't had time to catch up here on Sam's thread today. Yes, that's me. I will check my PM there in a few minutes. I also could not believe that person who posted those mean things. Why don't people ever learn?

Paulfan, Hey! Could you give me the address for Jorie's site?? Thankx! jen
