Hi Sam C. You've hit it on the head....different strokes for different folks. I don't particularly like Howard...but SOMETIMES he makes me smile at his cheek. And I don't mean his butt ala `Fartman'. Hi Maccascriff and Starr Thjanks for the plugs and the bumps. Love and hugs. Sam.

Sam, You hit the nail on the head. And if Paul's presence tones him down, all the better. Of course, if he likes the Beatles, he can't be all bad! Have a great weekend, Sam!! Cheers, Sam C.

HI Samuel, Yes it would be neat if Paul coudl toen down the tabloids. As for Howard being different I don't consider him that different since there are sveral people who shock. I can understand people being different but I don't understand why shock ahs to sell. What is the purpose of that? It may not be Howrd's fault but the people who pay shock jocks to shock.

Sam is up by 26!!!

Hi Sam & Sam C Agree with your comments about Stern -- different strokes for different folks. Like him or not, Stern isn't boring. I think Stern was beyond just nice to Macca -- he basically said on his show that he's the biggest celeberity on the planet and went out of his way to start out one of his shows -- on a day that Macca wasn't on it -- to gush and gush about his concert. Although I admit, I am partial to anyone that is a big Macca fan. Cheers! Mike

I remember when Ringo was on Howard Stern not long ago, Howard kept asking Ringo questions about Barbara Bach and i think Ringo was getting annoyed by that, and he asked him Yoko questions, didnt really ask him about his new CD which he was there to promote, i think Howard Stern always has been and always will be a Jerk, he seems to care more about what people look like than their careers, and that isn't right. Okay that was my opinion lol How is everyone doing?
-
It's funny that I am defending Stern -- I can take or leave him personally. Sometimes I like his show, sometimes he goes too far. However, I've heard him complementary to Ringo, too. Ringo has been on his show several times & keeps coming back, he seems to enjoy himself on it. Cheers! Mike
-
I know but Howard kept asking Ringo questions about Barbara and telling him how hot she is, and i think Ringo got a bit annoyed in that, otherwise he seemed to enjoy himself, i just dont care for Howard Stern, never have, never will. Hasn't Yoko been on his show too? I remember when she was on Conan O'Brian, that was so funny, Ringo was on Conan also, he said something lovely about George on there.

A quick hello to everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. Love, Jennifer
-
Hello Jen how are you doing? IT is good to see you here. Now as for Stern I'm glad he is a Macca fan but shock gets old after awhile. Andrew Clay got amd with him whe he made fun of PRincess Diana after she died and he challenged Stern to a showdown but Howard didn't show up. Andrew said something like Howard didn't show up because he knew he couldn't take me on. When I was younger I may not have minded Stern as much but now that I'm older I can't stand that type of humour as much. I know that people wouldn't want their children listening to that or them being like him. I used to be an Eddie Murphy fan when I was younger and didn't think there was anything wrong with his pottymouth but now I see where my aprents where coming from when they didn't want me to listen to that stuff. Eddie has changed over the years. Anyway He was hilarious in Shrek.

Sam is up by 30 this morning. Kat, I sent you the picture you wanted. Enjoy!

Mike, I heard from Jorie Gracen that there is a street anmed after Paul in Liverpool and the auditorium in LIPA is called the Paul Mccartney auditorium and the resaon John has airports and bars and statues named after him is because he is dead and since Paul is alive they haven't done stuff like that for him. She also told me he got the keys to the city back in 1984.
-
Hi Giri (Paulfan). I told you about the various honours that Liverpool has bestowed on Paul a long time ago. Obviously John gets more because of his untimely death. Cheers Sam.
-
Sam, I didn't remember you telling me that. I just decided to tell Mike since he was saying that something needs to be done so paul would be seen as John's equal. I agree that because of John's death he gets honored more. What is Paul's street called?
-
Hi Paulfan As I understand every Beatle has a street named after them in Liverpool. LIPA has an auditorium named after him becuase he is the school's biggest benefactor and as I understand practically single handidly saved the school from financial ruin -- I don't think Liverpool gave him the honor, if I recall LIPA did it for Macca. On the other hand, to me the city clearly looks like Lennon's city. I have a book guide to the Beatles in Liverpool and they have a section to the Beatles and a seperate section just for Lennon's stuff -- nothing for the other Beatles. No question in my mind that Lennon is honored in the city becuase of his untimely death. But, based on observation and what I read I don't think there is much question that Macca is clearly headed into history as the 2nd best Beatle -- my point is simply intentional or unintenional Liverpool furthers the discrepancy between the 2 Beatles. Jackie who does Beatle tours in the city for a living agrees with my assessment. Lennon's paradoxical image before death as a political peace loving hippie and at the same time as an avante garde loving rebel -- has been elevated to epic legend post death. Macca himself said -- people have now elevated to him to Martin Luther King, Ghandi status. Because of that Lennon's name connotes an immediate image to most whereas Macca's doesn't really. Macca's image basically is a pop songer writer who is a good family man. To most that image is nowhere as sexy as Lennon's. Lennon's death has taken the image to levels that I think were unimaginable years back where I think there was a time that it was unfathonable that Lennon and Macca would not be considered equals. Now, it's hard to imagine them being considered equals. Macca I think is regarded at best as one of the greatest song writers of all time -- although not the best. The insider Beatle people give Macca the most respect -- I would say on average they consider them equals with some prefetring Macca and some Lennon. Music magaizines clearly pick Lennon by a mile -- they range in their opinion from Macca is one of the greatest just not as great as Lennon to Macca was overrated and did little worthwhile as a solo artist. The biggest problem Macca has on the PR front in my view is that so many Lennon backers feel the need to take him down a peg. And, while I'd love to say it doesn't bother Macca or they aren't successful at their pr campaign -- I can't. Some of Lennon's people, Yoko included, say that Macca is now trying to revise history by telling his side of the story via books like Many Years from Now and asking to switch song credits. Of course, he wants to tell his story. It's about time someone stood up for him. The Lennon people have been revising history since the 70s and they did a great job -- they got their mission done. And, they still have more people making their case -- recently again I read an article where a music writer started with -- McCartney everyone's least favorite Beatle... this kind of stuff is really almost never directed at Lennon. McCarntey is clearly most music writers least favorite Beatle and they love to express that whenever they can. Really only Macca has to deal with the barbs. Philip Norman is now writing an autobiography on Lennon -- in his previous book and in interviews he goes out of his way to minimize Macca -- am sure this new book will give him another outlet to bash Macca some more. My point is that I accepted that there are really too many things conspiring against Macca to rise back to Lennon's status. Nonetheless, I don't think he will have any problem going down as one of the greatest of all time just not the greatest. Personally, I think he's the greatest of all time but deserves equal status to Lennon. Liverpool to me (and I know it's because Lennon's death) only promotes the Lennon is king status. Again, my point is that Macca is down in the dumps. He is arguably the biggest rock start in the planet, top concert draw, cranking out great albums & respect world wide. He is clearly a king in his own right. My point is simply that based on all the stuff I've read and seen about the Beatles and Macca in particular -- the only thing that bothers him about his legacy is that Lennon is going down in history as the bigger Beatle. Everytime he hints at eveining the score -- alas he did avante garde work, too, etc -- the media hits him for being disrespectful to a dead legend. As the announcer on the 48 hr special on Macca's tour years back said to Macca -- let's be honest time has been much better than Lennon to you.
