Paulfan:
Say Say Say came out in 1983 and yes it was a duet with Michale Jackson. Back then I thought he was okay but then he got real weird. I hated seeing him go to number one over Paul back then and see him win grammys and not Paul. Welcome to the thread my friend!
Just to make these chat a little more spicy I think the songs like " Say, say...", " another day" , " too many people " " silly love songs " and others like , could be selected to a new CD named " Macca´s Silly Songs- The worst of Paul " If the CD come out please keep 10% of sales in my name thanks,

i thought this was a thread for Sam? Lol!

Hey Cesar (Cbimbi). You're a bad lad, heh, heh. Stirring up a hornet's nest !! The next few posts will be interesting. Back late tonight. Will there be blood on the thread, ha, ha ?? Cheers. Sam.
-
Hi Sara (Starr). It's real interesting to see where the thread goes sometimes. The next few posts might be entertaining, heh, heh. Watch this space !! Love and hugs. Sam.
-
Lol, isnt it amazing what happens to threads here? At least there hasnt been a fight yet on here! Everyone has been behaving! Lol! Hmm, i wonder where things will go now!

Cesar While I don't mind the songs you mentioned as Macca's silly songs -- even Macca' harshest critics wouldn't include Too Many People as a silly song. It's hard edge and rocks -- i still hear that song many times on classic rock radio stations. But, I hear what you are saying about Macca's tendency to write some fluffy stuff here and there. Personally, that's what I like about his work -- he does everything folk, jazzy stuff, blues, teen pop, heavy lyrics, light lyrics, rock, punk, new wave, classical, country, trance, etc. There is stuff to like and not like depending on one's taste. There are a handful of Macca songs I can take or leave but I like 99% of his stuff -- including every song you mentioned. Again, I've heard Macca being criticized for all the songs you mentioned except Too Many People. Cheers! Mike
-
Sam I bet you aren't surprised that I am the one that responded to that post -- couldn't resist, it's too much fun. As to those who wonder about the thread going off on other topics -- that's what we did at times with our previous thread -- I think it keeps things lively and fun -- but I've got no problem just talking about Sam if that's what everyone else wants. Cheers! Mike

Paulfan Lennon's or Macca's career for that matter never really nose dived -- they always did well. It's simply a case of how well -- their solo careers were usually compared to the success of the Beatles and how can you match the greatest group of all time? Cheers! Mike

one could add " My Love ( does it good ) " " The Girl is Mine " [ blearggghhh ] as " bonus tracks " [ the CD could be nominated for the " Tunes of Mass Destruction Awards " ]

One could do a CD called Macca rocks! I'd include Monkberry Moon Delight So Glad to See You Helen Wheels 1985 Beware My Love Getting Closer Woman Oh Why Rockestra Rinse The Raindrops Smile Away I'd take 10% of the proceeds anytime!
-
Mi everyone. I'm rushing out so this will have to be a little brief. Cesar I like 50% of the songs you've nominated as fluff. But that's your opinion and that's fine with me although I DON"T agree. But I know you by now.....and you're a naughty lad, heh, heh, heh. Mike I agree having a differing road on the thread takes us to more interesting places than just lil' ol' me. I'd hate it if it was just about Sam Leach. Starr It's all just a bit of fun. Let's see where it leads us. No one will fall out because by now we're all friends. Paulfan Not everyone likes the suff we like...and that's okay. Back later gang. Sam.

I´ve heard John and George wrote the best part of these songs. But re Band on the run and we got married, I`d put these songs on my CD well, well, well... I´m talking about Paul´s sinister tendency to fluff songs. Otherwise who could explain his sick approach to Jacko?

The only song that anyone contributed to the ones I mentioned was Eleanor Rigby where Lennon contributed a few lines. In terms of the other songs they contributed 0% -- they are 100% Macca songs. Cheers! Mike

Hi Sam,I don't expect everyone to like what we like. Mike,I agree with you that it is very hard for anybody to match up to the beatles, after all they are the greatest group of all time.I don't see Too Many People as fluff either the rest that cbimbi pointed out I can understand. I like Macca's fluff stuff too along with his rockier stuff. Cesar if there is a cd called Macca's slilly songs I'll buy it and give you the 10 percent sales and Mike I would also buy Macca's rocky stuff from you and give you the 10 percent. Maybe this could be a good idea and Paul could actually release cds with those titles you guys just mentioned.

as long as I´m not an expert on Macca´s songs in the 70`s [ to be honest this period is the worst decade of rock music, in my opinion ] I´m here waiting your suggestions of new Macca tunes to include on my CD twisted

Hi Sam have a good week!

Cesar how about C'Moon? When you said this decade was the worst for rock music were you referring ot now or the 70s? Maybe you can also include Temporary Secretary on the cd too.
